Antibiotic Associated Diarrhea in Hospitalized Adult Patients
Background: Antibiotic associated diarrhea (AAD) occurs from the first initiation until 2 months of the end of antibiotic treatment. The aims of this study were to know the incidence of AAD, Clostridium difficile infection and other gastrointestinal symptoms in hospitalized adult patients.Method: The study is a cross sectional study. We studied the antibiotic associated diarrhea (AAD), Clostridium difficile infection and other gastrointestinal symptoms in patients who were admited in Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital. Inclusion were male or female, age 18-75 years old, Patients started receiving antibiotics maximal 2 x 24 hours prior to hospitalization, gave written informed consent.Results: The incidence of AAD was 11.5%. The incidence of Clostridium difficile infection was 15.4%. The Upper gastrointestinal symptom was present on 20 (38.5%) patients. Lower abdominal symptom was present on 10 (19.2%) patients.Conclusion: The Incidence of AAD and Clostridium difficile infection were 11.5% and 15.4% respectively. The clinical manifestations of AAD were diarrhea, other upper and lower abdominal symptoms
Realizations of Real Low-Dimensional Lie Algebras
Using a new powerful technique based on the notion of megaideal, we construct
a complete set of inequivalent realizations of real Lie algebras of dimension
no greater than four in vector fields on a space of an arbitrary (finite)
number of variables. Our classification amends and essentially generalizes
earlier works on the subject.
Known results on classification of low-dimensional real Lie algebras, their
automorphisms, differentiations, ideals, subalgebras and realizations are

New results on group classification of nonlinear diffusion-convection equations
Using a new method and additional (conditional and partial) equivalence
transformations, we performed group classification in a class of variable
coefficient -dimensional nonlinear diffusion-convection equations of the
general form We obtain new interesting cases of
such equations with the density localized in space, which have large
invariance algebra. Exact solutions of these equations are constructed. We also
consider the problem of investigation of the possible local trasformations for
an arbitrary pair of equations from the class under consideration, i.e. of

The ECOMA 2007 campaign: rocket observations and numerical modelling of aerosol particle charging and plasma depletion in a PMSE/NLC layer
The ECOMA series of rocket payloads use a set of aerosol particle, plasma, and optical instruments to study the properties of aerosol particles and their interaction with the ambient plasma environment in the polar mesopause region. In August 2007 the ECOMA-3 payload was launched into a region with Polar Mesosphere Summer Echoes (PMSE) and noctilucent clouds (NLC). An electron depletion was detected in a broad region between 83 and 88 km, coincident with enhanced density of negatively charged aerosol particles. We also find evidence for positive ion depletion in the same region. Charge neutrality requires that a population of positively charged particles smaller than 2 nm and with a density of at least 2&times;10<sup>8</sup> m<sup>&minus;3</sup> must also have been present in the layer, undetected by the instruments. A numerical model for the charging of aerosol particles and their interaction with the ambient plasma is used to analyse the results, showing that high aerosol particle densities are required in order to explain the observed ion density depletion. The model also shows that a very high photoionisation rate is required for the particles smaller than 2 nm to become positively charged, indicating that these may have a lower work function than pure water ice
Search for supersolidity in 4He in low-frequency sound experiments
We present results of the search for supersolid 4He using low-frequency,
low-level mechanical excitation of a solid sample grown and cooled at fixed
volume. We have observed low frequency non-linear resonances that constitute
anomalous features. These features, which appear below about 0.8 K, are absent
in 3He. The frequency, the amplitude at which the nonlinearity sets in, and the
upper temperature limit of existence of these resonances depend markedly on the

A Comparison of Consistent Discretizations for Elliptic Problems on Polyhedral Grids
In this work, we review a set of consistent discretizations for second-order elliptic equations, and compare and contrast them with respect to accuracy, monotonicity, and factors affecting their computational cost (degrees of freedom, sparsity, and condition numbers). Our comparisons include the linear and nonlinear TPFA method, multipoint flux-approximation (MPFA-O), mimetic methods, and virtual element methods. We focus on incompressible flow and study the effects of deformed cell geometries and anisotropic permeability.acceptedVersio
Complex Curve of the Two Matrix Model and its Tau-function
We study the hermitean and normal two matrix models in planar approximation
for an arbitrary number of eigenvalue supports. Its planar graph interpretation
is given. The study reveals a general structure of the underlying analytic
complex curve, different from the hyperelliptic curve of the one matrix model.
The matrix model quantities are expressed through the periods of meromorphic
generating differential on this curve and the partition function of the
multiple support solution, as a function of filling numbers and coefficients of
the matrix potential, is shown to be the quasiclassical tau-function. The
relation to softly broken N=1 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theories is discussed.
A general class of solvable multimatrix models with tree-like interactions is

Heretability and Correlation of Vegetative and Generative Character on Genotypes of Jatropha (Jatropha curcas Linn.)
AbstractThis study was aimed to obtain information of heritability predictive value and correlations of vegetative and generative characters on six genotypes of J. curcas. The characters of plant height, leaf number, leaf width, number of primary and secondary branches, number of fruit bunches, number of fruits per plant, seed's and 100 seedsâ dry weight showed high predictive value of heritability. Characters related to positive correlation and high heritability values (leaf width, number of primary branches, number of secondary branches, number of fruit bunches, number of fruits per plant) are able to be used as criteria for selection of J. curcas plant
Social democracy, embeddedness and decommodification: On the conceptual innovations and intellectual affiliations of Karl Polanyi
Of the several debates that revolve around the work of the economic historian and political economist Karl Polanyi, one that continues to exercise minds concerns his analysis of, and political attitudes toward, post-war capitalism and the welfare state. Simplified a little, it is a debate with two sides. To borrow IvĂĄn SzelĂ©nyi's terms, one side constructs a âhardâ Karl Polanyi, the other a âsoftâ one. The former advocated a socialist mixed economy dominated by redistributive mechanisms. He was a radical socialist for whom the market should never be the dominant mechanism of economic coordination. His âsoftâ alter ego insisted that the market system remain essentially intact but be complemented by redistributive mechanisms. The âdouble movementâ â the central thesis of his âGreat Transformationâ â acts, in this reading, as a self-correcting mechanism that moderates the excesses of market fundamentalism; its author was positioned within the social-democratic mainstream for which the only realistic desirable goal is a regulated form of capitalism. In terms of textual evidence there is much to be said for both interpretations. In this article I suggest a different approach, one that focuses upon the meaning of Polanyi's concepts in relation to their socio-political and intellectual environment
