Ethnomathematics in Anatolia-Turkey: mathematical thoughts in multiculturalism
Mathematical thoughts are in interaction with culture and they, together, form an indivisible whole. Therefore, Ethnomathematics both helps us understanding the nature of mathematics and contributes to understanding of one’s self as well as the other people sharing the same planet.Ethnomathematics reflects the studies of mathematical thoughts of multicultural or traditional societies. Mathematical thought is an approach in which people try to find quick and systematic solutions to a problem in many ways. The role of Ethnomathematics, which studies mathematical thoughts, cannot be ignored in a historical-cultural context. This paper examines some reflections of Ethnomathematics in Anatolian culture through geometry perception in engineering field, carpet, rug motifs and intelligence games
Confidential remote computing
Since their market launch in late 2015, trusted hardware enclaves have revolutionised the computing world with data-in-use protections. Their security features of confidentiality, integrity and attestation attract many application developers to move their valuable assets, such as cryptographic keys, password managers, private data, secret algorithms and mission-critical operations, into them. The potential security issues have not been well explored yet, and the quick integration movement into these widely available hardware technologies has created emerging problems. Today system and application designers utilise enclave-based protections for critical assets; however, the gap within the area of hardware-software co-design causes these applications to fail to benefit from strong hardware features. This research presents hands-on experiences, techniques and models on the correct utilisation of hardware enclaves in real-world systems.
We begin with designing a generic template for scalable many-party applications processing private data with mutually agreed public code. Many-party applications can vary from smart-grid systems to electronic voting infrastructures and block-chain smart contracts to internet-of-things deployments. Next, our research extensively examines private algorithms executing inside trusted hardware enclaves. We present practical use cases for protecting intellectual property, valuable algorithms and business or game logic besides private data. Our mechanisms allow querying private algorithms on rental services, querying private data with privacy filters such as differential privacy budgets, and integrity-protected computing power as a service. These experiences lead us to consolidate the disparate research into a unified Confidential Remote Computing (CRC) model. CRC consists of three main areas: the trusted hardware, the software development and the attestation domains. It resolves the ambiguity of trust in relevant fields and provides a systematic view of the field from past to future. Lastly, we examine the questions and misconceptions about malicious software profiting from security features offered by the hardware.
The more popular idea of confidential computing focuses on servers managed by major technology vendors and cloud infrastructures. In contrast, CRC focuses on practices in a more decentralised setting for end-users, system designers and developers

In view of this structure, we obtained braids for that knot and we will give the representations of Artin and we examine Garside Word problem. And then we will examine the positivity structure for these knots

Selçuklu Dönemi Tefsir Hareketleri, Eğitim Kurumları ve Tarihî Arka Plân
Bu çalışmada Tefsir tarihinde önemli bir yer tutan Büyük Selçuklu ve Anadolu Selçuklu dönemindeki tefsir çalışmaları nitelik açısından incelenmiştir. Yapılan tefsir çalışmaları dönemin dinî, fikrî, siyasî, tarihî ve içtimaî olayları ile birlikte değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Özellikle Fatımîlerin Mısır’ı işgali sonrası Bağdat’ın ve Abbasî Halifesinin bir süre Büveyhîler’in hâkimiyetinde kalışı İslâm coğrafyasında Şia/Bâtınî/İsmâilî akımın hızla yayılması sonucunu doğurmuştur. Fatımîlerin Ezher Külliyesini Şia’nın/Bâtınîliğin bilimsel temeli olarak kurmalarına Sünni dünyanın nasıl tepki verdiği araştırılmıştır. Bu dönemde düşünce ekseninde meydana gelen birtakım savrulmaların Tefsir hareketlerine nasıl yansıdığı anlaşılmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu bağlamda Büyük Selçuklu ve Anadolu Selçuklu devletlerinin birbiri ardına kurulması siyasî ve Sünni dünyada nasıl yankı bulduğu merak konusudur. Bu yüzden Selçuklu dönemi tefsir hareketleri dönemin tarihî arka plânıyla birlikte değerlendirilerek anlaşılması yolu denenmiştir. Bu bağlamda genelde Selçuklu dönemi eğitim kurumlarının özelde ise Nizâmiye medreselerinin Sünni dünyadaki karşılığının neye tekabül ettiği ve Kur’ân’ı hangi yöntemi esas alarak yorumladıkları sorgulanmıştır
Effects of vegetation cover/land use and slope aspect on surface soil properties near the copper smelter factory in Murgul, Turkey
The mining activities, one of the most drastic examples of human intervention to nature, have
considerably deteriorated the environment. Although being one of the smallest and least populated cities
of Turkey, Artvin is notably affected by mining in many ways such as acid rains, water contamination
and medical problems. The activities also affect soil properties. The present study aimed to assess the
effects of restoration and reclamation of the former smelter factory and determine the changes in some
soil properties according to land use/land cover (LULC) and slope aspect. With this purpose, Pearson
correlation and two-way ANOVA methods were used. Results showed that while LULC significantly
affected (p < 0.05) all soil properties except silt content, bulk density, CaCO3 content, C:N ratio, Cd and
Zn; slope aspect significantly affected less soil properties such as sand, silt, pH, EC, CaCO3 and Pb. The
interaction between factors also significantly affected (p < 0.05) soil properties like LULC. According to
partial eta squared (η2) values, while the most significantly affected soil properties by LULC, slope
aspect and their interaction were found to be Cr (0.93), Clay (0.59) and Cr (0.94), respectively; the ones
least affected were found to be total nitrogen (0.12), CaCO3 (0.14) and total nitrogen for 63-day (0.18),
respectively. Despite the black alder’s and black locust’s lack of phytoremediation abilities concerning
soil heavy metal content except Pb, Alnus glutinosa and Robinia pseudoacacia may be suggested for the
restoration and reclamation of mining soils in terms of phytoremediation beside their advantages such as
improving nitrogen mineralization

In this paper, we have considered some properties of AW (k)-type curves on the dual unit sphere. We have given some relationships between the curvatures of the base curves of the ruled surfaces in ℝ³which correspond to the dual spherical curves of these type. And also, we have examined the relations between the real integral invariants (the angle of pitch and the pitch) of the closed ruled surfaces in ℝ³ which correspond to the dual closed spherical curves drawn by the dual unit vectors (N₁) ⃗ , (N₂) ⃗ and (N₃) ⃗on dual unit sphere.peerReviewe

Eskitme teknikleri ve ahşap yüzeylerdeki etkilerinin değerlendirilmesine yönelik örnek bir uygulama

Özellikle ürün veya malzeme görünümde farklılıklar yaratmaya yönelik endüstriyel araç ve uygulamalar geliştikçe talep daha da tetiklenmiş ve görsel beklentiler hızla artmıştır. Ahşap esaslı ürün ve malzemelerde de bu beklentiler her zaman özel bir önem taşımıştır. Zira 5.000’in üzerinde kullanım yeri olan ahşabın en önemli kullanım amaçlarından biri estetik ortamlar yaratmaktır. Bugün ahşap yüzeylerden farklı dekoratif görüntüler yaratılmasına duyulan ihtiyaç artarken endüstriyel uygulama alanlarında da önemli gelişmeler görülmektedir. Ahşap üzerinde değişik dekoratif görüntülerin yaratılması amacıyla kullanılan tekniklerden bir grubu da eskitme tekniği olarak bilinen tekniklerdir. Bu çalışmada eskitme tekniklerinden kumlama tekniği kullanılmıştır. Kumlama tekniğinde; ağaç malzemenin yapısı göz önüne alınarak, farklı boyutlardaki kum tanecikleri, 4-6 bar atmosfer basınç ile ince uçlu bir tabancadan ahşap yüzeyine püskürtülerek yumuşak dokuların aşındırılması sağlanır. Son zamanlarda kumlama tekniğinde kullanılmak üzere kum yerine metal ve cam kürelerde kullanılmaya başlanmıştır. Kum yerine kullanılmaya başlanan metal ve cam küreler ahşap yüzeyinde farklı görünüşler elde edilmesini neden olmaktadır. Bu çalışmada belirlenen bir ağaç türü (göknar) örneği, kumlama tekniği uygulanmadan önce ve kumlama uygulaması sonrası yüzey özelikleri açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Ortaya çıkan yüzey yapısı ve farklılıkları üç boyutlu olarak görsel modellerle incelenmiştir.Aesthetic and visual values, as well as in daily life always had an important place in the industrial life. In particular product or material differences in appearance of industrial tools and applications developed to create even more demand increased rapidly induced and visual expectations. Wood-based products and materials were of particular importance in this expectation is always special. Because of over 5,000 which are the most important use of wood, one of the goals is to create an aesthetic environment. Today, different decorative wooden surfaces, while the need for the creation of images shows significant improvements in the areas of industrial application. Wood is a group of techniques used in order to create images of various decorative technique known as the aging techniques. Aging techniques, blasting technique was used in this study. Blasting technique, taking into account the tree structure of different sizes of sand particles, atmospheric pressure 4-6 bar with a fine grinding of soft tissues is achieved by spraying the surface of the wooden end of a gun. Sand blasting technique to be used recently begun to be used instead of metal and glass spheres. Sand began to be used in place of wood on the surface of metal and glass spheres leads to obtain different views. In this study, an example of the type of a tree, sand blasting technique, the surface properties were evaluated before and after the application of blasting. The differences in the surface structure and three dimensional models were examined visually
Litter decomposition in burned corsican pine stands in Turkey
This study was carried out to determine the effects of forest fire on litter decomposition in Corsican pine (P. nigra) stands. The study is located in Vezirkopru Forest area in Samsun, Turkey. We made measurements of litter decomposition in 80 to 100 years old stands subjected to prescribed burning. Measurements were made between November, 2013 and October, 2014. 20x20 cm litter bags were placed on soil surface and collected in July and October. Sampling time had significant effect on litter decomposition (P 0.05)
