    No full text
Given the rural revitalization strategy in the new era, agricultural development is faced with the dual constraints of resources and the environment. Promoting the green development of agriculture is one of the important missions to solve major social issues in the new era. The implementation goal of the carbon emission trading system is to achieve a win-win situation between carbon emission reduction and green development. To evaluate the effectiveness of the carbon emission trading system on agricultural enterprises, this paper uses a double-difference model to analyze the policy effect and mechanism research path of the impact of the carbon emission trading system on the total factor productivity of agricultural enterprises. The results based on the panel data of listed agricultural companies from 2010 to 2020 show that (1) carbon emission trading rights have significantly improved the total factor productivity of agricultural enterprises; (2) green innovation in carbon emission trading rights have an impact on the total factor productivity of agricultural enterprises; and (3) heterogeneity analysis shows that the effect of carbon emission trading rights on the total factor productivity of agricultural enterprises mainly exists in large-scale, nonstate-owned, high-debt enterprises, enterprises in the eastern region, and enterprises with government subsidies. Therefore, in the future, China should continue to implement the current carbon emission trading rights system in air pollution control, and at the same time, it needs to be supplemented by government intervention and other means for long-term governance. In conclusion, the study provides a reference value for promoting the realization of the long-term goal of “low carbon” and “high quality” green development of agricultural economy and for making reasonable and effective behavioral decisions for the survival and development of enterprises

Domain-Aware Neural Architecture Search for Classifying Animals in Camera Trap Images

    No full text
Camera traps provide a feasible way for ecological researchers to observe wildlife, and they often produce millions of images of diverse species requiring classification. This classification can be automated via edge devices installed with convolutional neural networks, but networks may need to be customized per device because edge devices are highly heterogeneous and resource-limited. This can be addressed by a neural architecture search capable of automatically designing networks. However, search methods are usually developed based on benchmark datasets differing widely from camera trap images in many aspects including data distributions and aspect ratios. Therefore, we designed a novel search method conducted directly on camera trap images with lowered resolutions and maintained aspect ratios; the search is guided by a loss function whose hyper parameter is theoretically derived for finding lightweight networks. The search was applied to two datasets and led to lightweight networks tested on an edge device named NVIDIA Jetson X2. The resulting accuracies were competitive in comparison. Conclusively, researchers without knowledge of designing networks can obtain networks optimized for edge devices and thus establish or expand surveillance areas in a cost-effective way

With the continuous development of new energy, the power and capacity configuration of charging devices is getting larger and larger, and there are more and more data nodes that charging devices need to manage and monitor. In order to improve the security of the system, it is necessary to monitor the node information of each device in real time. This paper summarizes the data required for high-voltage modelling and junction temperature calculation of high-voltage power electronic devices to develop a monitoring platform for charging devices. The platform records the data of each module in the charging device online, and provides measured data for equipment selection and fault analysis of the charging device. At the end of the article, some experiments were carried out to verify the operation effect of the monitoring platform

The pig industry is the pillar industry of animal husbandry in China, and epidemics can lead to drastic changes in pig supply, affecting the healthy development of the pig industry and residents’ quality of life. This study analyzed the mechanism of the effect of swine epidemics on nonlinear shocks to pig supply, and monthly data on pig supply from January 2012 to June 2020 were applied to study the threshold effect of swine epidemics on pig stock and slaughter in China empirically, using the index of swine epidemics’ width (ISEW) as the threshold variable. The results of this study were as follows: (1) The influence of the ISEW over 7 months on pig stock in China was divided into two ranges, and the pig stock did not change significantly when the ISEW was less than 0.25. Swine epidemics had a significantly negative impact on the pig stock when the ISEW was larger than 0.25. (2) The influence of the ISEW over 8 months on pig slaughter was also divided into two ranges. When the ISEW was less than 0.33, epidemics had a positive and significant effect on pig slaughter, while epidemics had a marked negative impact on pig slaughter when the ISEW was greater than 0.33. Based on these conclusions, this study proposed relevant measures for the prevention and control of swine epidemics

This paper studies the correlation between charging process performance indicators and charging safety of Solar-Energy storage-Charge station, analyses the influence of environmental factors, technical factors, design factors, management factors and user factors on charging process safety of energy stations. The projection pursuit algorithm is used to evaluate the influence degree of each parameter on the safety of charging process; through the establishment of charging safety evaluation system, the safety risks of battery damage and even fire caused by excessive charging current and high battery temperature are identified. The monitoring parameters corresponding to the charging safety state are determined. According to the different battery types adopted by different vehicle models, the corresponding charging mode is determined. According to the monitoring results of key data of the core equipment in the charging process, such as charging current, charging voltage, battery temperature, etc., the charging strategies of different vehicle models and different battery types are analysed, which provides reference for the safe operation of charging process

Metabolic fatty liver disease caused by high-starch diet restricted the intensive and sustainable development of carnivorous fish such as largemouth bass. In this study, the combination liver proteomic and lipidomic approach was employed to investigate the key signaling pathways and identify the critical biomarkers of fatty liver in largemouth bass. Joint analysis of the correlated differential proteins and lipids revealed nine common metabolic pathways; it was determined that FABP1 were significantly up-regulated in terms of transporting more triglycerides into the liver, while ABCA1 and VDAC1 proteins were significantly down-regulated in terms of preventing the transport of lipids and cholesterol out of the liver, leading to triglyceride accumulation in hepatocyte, eventually resulting in metabolic fatty liver disease. The results indicate that FABP1, ABCA1 and VDAC1 could be potential biomarkers for treating metabolic fatty liver disease of largemouth bass

Neighborhood supermarket access and childhood obesity: A systematic review

Childhood obesity is one of the most pressing public health issues nowadays. The environmental factors have been identified as potential risks for obesity, as they may influence people's lifestyle behaviours. Lack of access to supermarkets that usually provide healthy food options has been found to be a risk factor for childhood obesity in several studies. However, findings remained inconclusive. We aimed to systematically review the association between access to supermarkets and childhood obesity. A literature search was conducted in the Cochrane Library, PubMed, Web of Science, and Embase for studies published before 1 January 2019. Twenty-four studies conducted in four countries were identified, from which data on the basic characteristics of studies and participants, measures of access to supermarkets, and associations between access to supermarkets and weight-related behaviours and outcomes were extracted. The median sample size was 1858 participants. Half of the included studies indicated a negative association, one fourth reported a positive association, and the remaining one fourth did not find a significant association. Better designed studies are necessary to achieve a robust understanding of this epidemiological relationship in the future

International traditional Chinese medicine guideline for diagnostic and treatment principles of diabetes

© Annals of Palliative Medicine. Diabetes mellitus (DM) was one of the most severe public health problems that affected nearly 463 million adults around the world. In addition to insulin and oral hypoglycemic agents, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) was an effective alternative therapy for diabetes and its complications, and it had been widely used in the Pan-Pacific region, especially in Southeast Asia, however, TCM lacked specialized standards of care for DM in the past, which limited the TCM clinical efficacy of diabetes. Since March 2017, the Endocrinology Committee of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) had invited experts in diabetes, TCM, and international standard setting to work with TCM endocrinologists from the Guideline Development Committee to review the TCM clinical research evidence related to the prevention and treatment of diabetes over the previous 14 years. Over an 8-months careful revision, the international TCM guideline was finally developed under the guidance of review experts, physicians and surveyed patients, to provide standardized diagnosis and treatment advice of diabetes for global TCM doctors. This guideline clarified the TCM classification, staging, and syndromes of diabetes, gave the instructions that how to identified different stages and syndromes clearly, and accordingly recommended different TCM therapies based on the level of evidence. It\u27s worth noting that when the guideline was being made, fewer high-quality clinical research evidence could be found, and very few researches were so outdated that need to be updated. More high-quality research evidence would be included in the updated version of guideline to continuously improve the overall level of global TCM in preventing and treating diabetes, and long-term clinical researches were advocated.
