The objective of this research was to identify the variables that interfere in the winemaker's decision-making during the management of the wine growing system. To characterize the winemaker's decision-making in the management of the vineyard cultivation system, the procedures were: analysis of the selection criteria of the managers before the conventional and biodynamic systems of vinifera cultivation, considering the questions of opportunity costs of production as criterion evaluation of alternatives. It is an exploratory and descriptive study which contains both qualitative and quantitative analysis, from an intentional sample, for convenience and non-probabilistic. It has been discovered that vineyard management is a complex task, which requires information, technical follow-up, and farmers who are willing to realize that production alternatives go beyond the boundaries of the property's gateway. Finally, it was evidenced that management requires the commitment of all the factors, which are part of the productive chain, so the whole production system can remain competitive and attentive to the different opportunities that using the soil can provide

Bosch's industry 4.0 advanced Data Analytics: historical and predictive data integration for decision support

Industry 4.0, characterized by the development of automation and data exchanging technologies, has contributed to an increase in the volume of data, generated from various data sources, with great speed and variety. Organizations need to collect, store, process, and analyse this data in order to extract meaningful insights from these vast amounts of data. By overcoming these challenges imposed by what is currently known as Big Data, organizations take a step towards optimizing business processes. This paper proposes a Big Data Analytics architecture as an artefact for the integration of historical data - from the organizational business processes - and predictive data - obtained by the use of Machine Learning models -, providing an advanced data analytics environment for decision support. To support data integration in a Big Data Warehouse, a data modelling method is also proposed. These proposals were implemented and validated with a demonstration case in a multinational organization, Bosch Car Multimedia in Braga. The obtained results highlight the ability to take advantage of large amounts of historical data enhanced with predictions that support complex decision support scenarios. This work has been supported by FCT -Fundacao para a Ciencia e Tecnologia within the Project Scope: UIDB/00319/2020, the Doctoral scholarships PD/BDE/135100/2017 and PD/BDE/135105/2017, and European Structural and Investment Funds in the FEDER component, through the Operational Competitiveness and Internationalization Programme (COMPETE 2020) [Project n degrees 039479; Funding Reference: POCI-01-0247-FEDER039479]. Background: Bariatric surgery is an alternative to the obesity treatment. Aim: To compare anthropometric variables such as body composition and physical fitness of those who performed Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. Methods: Were evaluated 108 women. They were subdivided in three groups: those who performed the bariatric surgery by private health insurance (SAS, n=36)by the public health care (SUS, n=36), and an equivalent group which did not perform the surgery (NO, n=36). Were performed physical fitness, anthropometric and body composition tests. Was evaluated the level of physical activity during the leisure period. Results: Statistically significant differences were observed between the groups sedentary operated (n=28) and sedentary non-operated (n=13) on anthropometry and fat percentage, being the highest indexes in the group operated. Conclusion: The level of physical activity showed a positive influence related to anthropometric variables, body composition of the individuals who performed the bariatric surgery when compared to the ones non-operated. TO, BrazilEduc Bur, Malatya City Hall, Marialva, PR, BrazilUniv Fed Sao Paulo, Interdisciplinary Hlth Sci Postgrad Program, Santos, SP, BrazilUniv Estadual Maringa, Multidisciplinary Ctr Obes Studies, Maringa, Parana, BrazilUniv Fed Sao Paulo, Interdisciplinary Hlth Sci Postgrad Program, Santos, SP, BrazilWeb of Scienc

Microbial community structure and dynamics in thermophilic composting viewed through metagenomics and metatranscriptomics

Composting is a promising source of new organisms and thermostable enzymes that may be helpful in environmental management and industrial processes. Here we present results of metagenomicand metatranscriptomic-based analyses of a large composting operation in the Sao Paulo Zoo Park. This composting exhibits a sustained thermophilic profile (50 degrees C to 75 degrees C), which seems to preclude fungal activity. The main novelty of our study is the combination of time-series sampling with shotgun DNA, 16S rRNA gene amplicon, and metatranscriptome high-throughput sequencing, enabling an unprecedented detailed view of microbial community structure, dynamics, and function in this ecosystem. The time-series data showed that the turning procedure has a strong impact on the compost microbiota, restoring to a certain extent the population profile seen at the beginning of the processand that lignocellulosic biomass deconstruction occurs synergistically and sequentially, with hemicellulose being degraded preferentially to cellulose and lignin. Moreover, our sequencing data allowed near-complete genome reconstruction of five bacterial species previously found in biomass-degrading environments and of a novel biodegrading bacterial species, likely a new genus in the order Bacillales. The data and analyses provided are a rich source for additional investigations of thermophilic composting microbiology.Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP)Provost's Office for Research of the University of Sao PauloCoordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES)Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq)Univ Sao Paulo, Inst Quim, Dept Bioquim, Sao Paulo, BrazilUniv Sao Paulo, Programa Pos Graduacao Interunidades Bioinformat, Sao Paulo, BrazilUniv Sao Paulo, Escola Artes Ciencias & Humanidades, Sao Paulo, Brazil|Fundacao Parque Zool Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo, BrazilUniv Fed Sao Paulo, Dept Ciencias Biol, Sao Paulo, BrazilBiocomplex Inst Virginia, Blacksburg, VA USADepartamento de Ciências Biológicas, Universidade Federal de São Paulo, São Paulo, BrazilFAPESP: 2011/50870-6Web of Scienc
