Emission of spacetime waves from the partial collapse of a compact object

In this work we describe the partial collapse of a compact object and the emission of spacetime waves as a result of back-reaction effects. As a source mass term we propose a non-smooth continuous function that describes a mass-loss, and we then obtain the solution of such setting. We present three distinct examples of the evolution of the norm Rnl(t,r)|R_{nl}(t,r_{*})| in terms of tt, and four different results are shown for the parameter l=1,2,5,10l=1,2,5,10; here rr_{*} is the fixed radius of an observer outside the compact object. In all cases, the decay behaviour is actually present at t1t\gg 1 and becomes more evident for larger ll. In addition, for the results that have smaller ll's their amplitudes are larger when the asymptotic character of Rnl(t,r)|R_{nl}(t,r_{*})| clearly appears. Finally, the farther away an observer is set, the fewer oscillations are perceived; however, from our particular fixed set of parameters, the best spot to observe the wiggles of the emitted spacetime waves is close to rαr_{*}\simeq \alpha.Comment: 8 pages, 3 figure

El rendimiento de conversión de pericarpio a bioetanol fue bajo, 0.35%.This research was made at the Cuenca University and its main objective was to get a second generation bioethanol from passion fruit (Passiflora edulis f. flavicarpia) pericarp. It was employed a hydrolysis process with dilute sulfuric acid. In this way, the purpose is to present a biofuel, which is an energetic alternative for the transport sector. The process was developed in three steps. First, its made the chemical characterization of passion fruit pericarp, which had 48 % of holocellulose. Second, its made the acid hydrolysis process to produce reducing sugars. For evaluation the better process, its employed a factorial design 2^3, where was controlled some factors such as: pressure, time, and acid sulfuric concentration. Besides, the answer was measured as sugars concentration with the Somogyi-Nelson spectrophotometric method. The results allowed to select the better factors configuration to maximize the conversión. The values are: 15 psi, 30 minutes and concentration of 5%. Finally, the glycosidic syrup was subjected to fermentation process anaerobically to the bioetanol production, for which it was used a yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) as microorganism. In addition, fermentation parameters such as, growth temperature, pH and orbital agitation were adjusted. Whit these conditions the result was a low yield.Ingeniero QuímicoCuenc

To understand the effectiveness of art therapy within the framework of multidisciplinary therapeutic programs, it is essential to adopt a holistic perspective that allows for the description of effect relationships. Under this premise, and in the context of the work carried out in two Mental Health Day Hospitals in the Community of Madrid, a study has been conducted with the primary objective of identifying and analysing which conditions and/or therapeutic factors make art therapy an effective therapeutic resource. Semi-structured interviews including questions about key factors, therapeutic contributions and suggested improvements were administered to a total of 10 professionals, 5 from each hospital. The responses were recorded, transcribed, and thematically analysed. From the analysis of the interviews, 5 categories were identified: Common Factors, Specific Factors, Benefits to Patients, Contributions to Therapists and Improvements. The study concludes that art therapy is a practical and helpful treatment, particularly for narrative regulation and elaboration. It requires an interdisciplinary approach to fit into each patient’s treatment plan. Clinical debriefings with multidisciplinary clinicians have been effective and essentia

Marginal bone loss around implants placed in maxillary native bone or grafted sinuses: a retrospective cohort study

Objectives To assess differences in marginal bone loss around implants placed in maxillary pristine bone and implants placed following maxillary sinus augmentation over a period of 3 years after functional loading. Material and methods Two cohorts of subjects (Group 1: Subjects who received sinus augmentation with simultaneous implant placement; Group 2: Subjects who underwent conventional implant placement in posterior maxillary pristine bone) were included in this retrospective study. Radiographic marginal bone loss was measured around one implant per patient on digitized panoramic radiographs that were obtained at the time of prosthesis delivery (baseline) and 12, 24, and 36 months later. The influence of age, gender, smoking habits, history of periodontal disease, and type of prosthetic connection (internal or external) on marginal bone loss was analyzed in function of the type of osseous support (previously grafted or pristine). Results A total of 105 subjects were included in this study. Cumulative radiographic marginal bone loss ranged from 0 mm to 3.9 mm after 36 months of functional loading. There were statistically significant differences in marginal bone loss between implants placed in grafted and pristine bone at the 12‐month assessment, but not in the subsequent progression rate. External prosthetic connection, smoking, and history of periodontitis negatively influenced peri‐implant bone maintenance, regardless of the type of osseous substrate. Conclusions Implants placed in sites that received maxillary sinus augmentation exhibited more marginal bone loss than implants placed in pristine bone, although marginal bone loss mainly occurred during the first 12 months after functional loading. Implants with external implant connection were strongly associated with increased marginal bone loss overtime.Peer Reviewedhttp://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/102685/1/clr12122.pd
