Dominance Measuring Approach using Stochastic Weights
In this paper we propose an approach to obtain a ranking of alternatives in multicriteria decision-making problems when there is imprecision concerning the alternative performances, component utility functions and weights. We assume decision maker's preferences are represented by an additive multi-attribute utility function, in which weights are modeled by independent normal variables, the performance in each attribute for each alternative is an interval value and classes of utility functions are available for each attribute. The approach we propose is based on dominance measures, which are computed in a similar way that when the imprecision concerning weights is modeled by uniform distributions or by an ordinal relation. In this paper we will show how the approach can be applied when the imprecision concerning weights are represented by normal distributions. Extensions to other distributions, such as truncated normal or beta, can be feasible using Monte Carlo simulation techniques
Ranking Alternatives on the Basis of a Dominance Intensity Measure
The additive multi-attribute utility model is widely used within MultiAttribute Utility Theory (MAUT), demanding all the information describing the decision-making situation. However, these information requirements can obviously be far too strict in many practical situations. Consequently, incomplete information about input parameters has been incorporated into the decisionmaking process. We propose an approach based on a dominance intensity measure to deal with such situations. The approach is based on the dominance values between pairs of alternatives that can be computed by linear programming. These dominance values are transformed into dominance intensities from which a dominance intensity measure is derived. It is used to analyze the robustness of a ranking of technologies for the disposition of surplus weapons-grade plutonium by the Department of Energy in the USA, and compared with other dominance measuring methods
Stochastic orders and multivariate measures of risk contagion
Co-risk measures and risk contributions measures are used in portfolio risk analysis to assess and
quantify the risk of contagion, given that one or more assets in the portfolio are in distress. In this
paper, given two random vectors X and Y that represent two portfolios of n assets (n ≥ 2) and
exhibit some kind of positive dependence, we give sufficient conditions based on stochastic orders
to compare the risk of contagion of the portfolios. The measures of risk contagion that we consider
are the conditional value at risk (CoVaR), the conditional expected shortfall (CoES) and the recently
introduced marginal mean excess (MME)
Stochastic Comparisons of Some Distances between Random Variables
The aim of this paper is twofold. First, we show that the expectation of the absolute value of the difference between two copies, not necessarily independent, of a random variable is a measure of its variability in the sense of Bickel and Lehmann (1979). Moreover, if the two copies are negatively dependent through stochastic ordering, this measure is subadditive. The second purpose of this paper is to provide sufficient conditions for comparing several distances between pairs of random variables (with possibly different distribution functions) in terms of various stochastic orderings. Applications in actuarial and financial risk management are given
State marks an important guideline in its constitutional history, embodied in the reform that took place in 2011.
Recognizing that human rights are above the standards of the state, extended the panorama in the field. However, when human rights
collide, it is difficult to deliberate. There is, on the one hand, the human right to religious belief, and secondly, the rights to life and health,
which as in the case of blood transfusions or surgical interventions in minors can generate conflict, this in because theological
interpretation of the believers of the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses. In the case of the elderly, the principle of autonomy is evident, in
which each person can decide whether to admit or reject an intervention, however in the case of minors, the approach is different because,
regardless of the degree of psychological maturity, they can not choose, and restrictively internal legislation makes equal treatment to all
children, regardless of age or degree of maturity. The dilemma involves parents and their responsibilities as well as the consequences of
denying any treatment, and the doctors who are constrained to preserve the right to life and health of patients
Variables in the health research process: importance, classification and presentation in research protocols

materia. We research to analyze and explain phenomena, but we can not always carry out scientific studies using
hypothesis testing methodologies based on an existing, validated and in used theoretical framework. In
this paper we try to justify the use of qualitative techniques as a research strategy in the business
administration area. The rationale, usefulness and limitations of case study methodology are scrutinized,
in order to suggest, based on the existing literature, the stages that a quality cases research should follow.
Finally, in order to justify the relevance that this methodology is taking in recent years in the field of
tourism, we detail its use in the higher impact journals
