Impulsive Synchronization of Nonlinearly Coupled Complex Networks

    Get PDF
This paper investigates synchronization problem of nonlinearly coupled dynamical networks, and an effectively impulsive control scheme is proposed to synchronize the network onto the objective state. Based on the stability analysis of impulsive differential equations, a low-dimensional sufficient condition is derived to guarantee the exponential synchronization in virtual of average impulsive interval. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed methods and results

Complex networks typically involve multiple disciplines due to network dynamics and their statistical nature. When modeling practical networks, both impulsive effects and logical dynamics have recently attracted increasing attention. Hence, it is of interest and importance to consider hybrid complex networks with impulsive effects and logical dynamics. Relevant research is prevalent in cells, ecology, social systems, and communication engineering. In hybrid complex networks, numerous nodes are coupled through networks and their properties usually lead to complex dynamic behaviors, including discrete and continuous dynamics with finite values of time and state space. Generally, continuous and discrete sections of the systems are described by differential and difference equations, respectively. Logical networks are used to model the systems where time and state space take finite values. Although interesting results have been reported regarding hybrid complex networks, the analysis methods and relevant results could be further improved with respect to conservative impulsive delay inequalities and reproducibility of corresponding stability or synchronization criteria. Therefore, it is necessary to devise effective approaches to improve the analysis method and results dealing with hybrid complex networks

Impulsive Control for the Synchronization of Chaotic Systems with Time Delay

This paper considers impulsive control for the synchronization of chaotic systems with time delays. Based on the Lyapunov functions and the Razumikhin technique, some new synchronization criteria with an exponential convergence rate are derived. Our results show that impulses do contribute to globally exponential synchronization of dynamical systems. Besides, the impulsive moments are independent of the upper bound of time delays. Furthermore, a bigger upper bound of impulsive intervals for the synchronization of chaotic systems can be obtained when compared with many previous studies. Hence, our results are less conservative and more effective for the synchronization analysis. A numerical example is given to show the validity and potential of the developed results
