Metastatic Signet Ring Cell Carcinoma of the Ampulla of Vater with an Unusually Prolonged Survival
Ampulla of Vater tumors are uncommon, with an incidence of approximately four to six cases per million population. Incidence of ampullary cancer is higher in Caucasian and African-American men than in women [Fig. 1]. Among the periampullary tumors, they account for around 6% of lesions. Signet ring cell pathology is a rare finding in ampulla of Vater carcinoma
