Confessional statement Colossians 1:13-20 : unity, structure and function
Scholarly work has concentrated much effort on Colossians 1:15-20 as
an early Christian hymn. In discussions with Botha (1986; 1989) and
Van der Watt (1988), an attempt has been made here to prove the unity
of 1 :13-20 as a confessional statement, and to determine its structural
coherence and progression. The letter's macro structure is utilized to
pinpoint the pericope's locality in the letter since this has bearing on the
function it fulfills. The analysis of its structural composition is an
attempt to help clarify my position on various details and understanding
of its meaning. In view of the positions taken and of a discussion of the
letter's context and its communicative thrust, the function of the confessional
statement is considered to be its role of grounding the community's
faith in the totally sufficient salvation by God in Christ - thus opening
the way for the warning against being misled on a way other than
that of Christ and to hold onto him as head, which signals the communicative

Extracting antipsychotic polypharmacy data from electronic health records: developing and evaluating a novel process
Background
Antipsychotic prescription information is commonly derived from structured fields in clinical health records. However, utilising diverse and comprehensive sources of information is especially important when investigating less frequent patterns of medication prescribing such as antipsychotic polypharmacy (APP). This study describes and evaluates a novel method of extracting APP data from both structured and free-text fields in electronic health records (EHRs), and its use for research purposes.
Methods
Using anonymised EHRs, we identified a cohort of patients with serious mental illness (SMI) who were treated in South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust mental health care services between 1 January and 30 June 2012. Information about antipsychotic co-prescribing was extracted using a combination of natural language processing and a bespoke algorithm. The validity of the data derived through this process was assessed against a manually coded gold standard to establish precision and recall. Lastly, we estimated the prevalence and patterns of antipsychotic polypharmacy.
Results
Individual instances of antipsychotic prescribing were detected with high precision (0.94 to 0.97) and moderate recall (0.57-0.77). We detected baseline APP (two or more antipsychotics prescribed in any 6-week window) with 0.92 precision and 0.74 recall and long-term APP (antipsychotic co-prescribing for 6 months) with 0.94 precision and 0.60 recall. Of the 7,201 SMI patients receiving active care during the observation period, 338 (4.7 %; 95 % CI 4.2-5.2) were identified as receiving long-term APP. Two second generation antipsychotics (64.8 %); and first -second generation antipsychotics were most commonly co-prescribed (32.5 %).
Conclusions
These results suggest that this is a potentially practical tool for identifying polypharmacy from mental health EHRs on a large scale. Furthermore, extracted data can be used to allow researchers to characterize patterns of polypharmacy over time including different drug combinations, trends in polypharmacy prescribing, predictors of polypharmacy prescribing and the impact of polypharmacy on patient outcomes
Time-reversal violating rotation of polarization plane of light in gas placed in electric field
Rotation of polarization plane of light in gas placed in electric field is
considered. Different factors causing this phenomenon are investigated. Angle
of polarization plane rotation for transition 6S_{1/2} - 7S_{1/2} in cesium
(lambda=539 nm) is estimated. The possibility to observe this effect

Playing safe: Assessing the risk of sexual abuse to elite child athletes
Young athletes frequently suffer from being seen as athletes first and children second. This has consequences for their legal, civil and human rights as children (Kelly et al., 1995) and for the way in which sport organisations choose to intervene on their behalf to protect them from physical, psychological and sexual abuses (Brackenridge, 1994). Sport careers peak at different ages depending on the sport: in some, children as young as 12 or 13 may reach the highest levels of competitive performance; in others, full maturity as an athlete may come late into adulthood or even middle age. Recognition of this variation has given rise to the concept of âsport ageâ (Kirby, 1986) referring to sport-specific athlete development. This concept is of significance in helping to identify the developmental process in terms of athletic, rather than chronological, maturity. The risk of sexual abuse in sport, formerly ignored or denied, has now been documented in a number of studies, using both quantitative and qualitative methods (Kirby & Greaves, 1996; Brackenridge, 1997; Volkwein, 1996). Drawing on data from these studies and from the previous work on sport age and athletic maturation, this paper proposes a possible means of identifying and assessing relative risk of sexual abuse to elite young athletes in selected sports. From academic research to marketing practice: Exploring the marketing science value chain
We aim to investigate the impact of marketing science articles and tools on the practice of marketing. This impact may be direct (e.g., an academic article may be adapted to solve a practical problem) or indirect (e.g., its contents may be incorporated into practitioners' tools, which then influence marketing decision making). We use the term "marketing science value chain" to describe these diffusion steps, and survey marketing managers, marketing science intermediaries (practicing marketing analysts), and marketing academics to calibrate the value chain.In our sample, we find that (1) the impact of marketing science is perceived to be largest on decisions such as the management of brands, pricing, new products, product portfolios, and customer/market selection, and (2) tools such as segmentation, survey-based choice models, marketing mix models, and pre-test market models have the largest impact on marketing decisions. Exemplary papers from 1982 to 2003 that achieved dual - academic and practice - impact are Guadagni and Little (1983) and Green and Srinivasan (1990). Overall, our results are encouraging. First, we find that the impact of marketing science has been largest on marketing decision areas that are important to practice. Second, we find moderate alignment between academic impact and practice impact. Third, we identify antecedents of practice impact among dual impact marketing science papers. Fourth, we discover more recent trends and initiatives in the period 2004-2012, such as the increased importance of big data and the rise of digital and mobile communication, using the marketing science value chain as an organizing framework
Analogue Models for T and CPT Violation in Neutral-Meson Oscillations
Analogue models for CP violation in neutral-meson systems are studied in a
general framework. No-go results are obtained for models in classical mechanics
that are nondissipative or that involve one-dimensional oscillators. A complete
emulation is shown to be possible for a two-dimensional oscillator with
rheonomic constraints, and an explicit example with spontaneous T and CPT
violation is presented. The results have implications for analogue models with

Quantum charges and spacetime topology: The emergence of new superselection sectors
In which is developed a new form of superselection sectors of topological
origin. By that it is meant a new investigation that includes several
extensions of the traditional framework of Doplicher, Haag and Roberts in local
quantum theories. At first we generalize the notion of representations of nets
of C*-algebras, then we provide a brand new view on selection criteria by
adopting one with a strong topological flavour. We prove that it is coherent
with the older point of view, hence a clue to a genuine extension. In this
light, we extend Roberts' cohomological analysis to the case where 1--cocycles
bear non trivial unitary representations of the fundamental group of the
spacetime, equivalently of its Cauchy surface in case of global hyperbolicity.
A crucial tool is a notion of group von Neumann algebras generated by the
1-cocycles evaluated on loops over fixed regions. One proves that these group
von Neumann algebras are localized at the bounded region where loops start and
end and to be factorial of finite type I. All that amounts to a new invariant,
in a topological sense, which can be defined as the dimension of the factor. We
prove that any 1-cocycle can be factorized into a part that contains only the
charge content and another where only the topological information is stored.
This second part resembles much what in literature are known as geometric
phases. Indeed, by the very geometrical origin of the 1-cocycles that we
discuss in the paper, they are essential tools in the theory of net bundles,
and the topological part is related to their holonomy content. At the end we

Complete population transfer in a degenerate 3-level atom
We find conditions required to achieve complete population transfer, via
coherent population trapping, from an initial state to a designated final state
at a designated time in a degenerate 3-level atom, where transitions are caused
by an external interaction. Complete population transfer from an initially
occupied state 1 to a designated state 2 occurs under two conditions. First,
there is a constraint on the ratios of the transition matrix elements of the
external interaction. Second, there is a constraint on the action integral over
the interaction, or "area", corresponding to the phase shift induced by the
external interaction. Both conditions may be expressed in terms of simple odd

A Measurement of Time-Averaged Aerosol Optical Depth using Air-Showers Observed in Stereo by HiRes
Air fluorescence measurements of cosmic ray energy must be corrected for
attenuation of the atmosphere. In this paper we show that the air-showers
themselves can yield a measurement of the aerosol attenuation in terms of
optical depth, time-averaged over extended periods. Although the technique
lacks statistical power to make the critical hourly measurements that only
specialized active instruments can achieve, we note the technique does not
depend on absolute calibration of the detector hardware, and requires no
additional equipment beyond the fluorescence detectors that observe the air
showers. This paper describes the technique, and presents results based on
analysis of 1258 air-showers observed in stereo by the High Resolution Fly's
