Using Linear Regression to Analyze Economics Content Mastery and Learner’s Autonomy Towards English Writing Competence
English is used widely in education area. It is also used in higher education. Many universities put English in the curriculum. In industrial revolution 4.0., English has an important role. English for Economics is needed to prepare students to master business English and English as an international language. Writing is as the focus of English skill in this study. To support good English writing, Economics content mastery is needed before learning English. Learner’s autonomy in the process of writing is also needed for writing development. In this study, economics content mastery and learner’s autonomy were identified to perceive the effect on the competence in English writing. The method used was multiple linear regressions as there were two independent variables in this study. Closed-ended questionnaire was used as the instrument. The result from linear regression showed that there were partial effects and simultaneous effect of economics content mastery and learner’s autonomy towards English writing competence. It means that H1, H2, and H3 were accepted and Ho was rejected in which there were significant effects among the variables. It can be interpreted that economics content while studying English for Economics and learner’s autonomy in terms of independently learning English writing were significantly needed in order to enhance English writing competence. The practical implication from this study is the students do not only need to learn English, but also learn Economics content and develop independent learning for autonomy learning in the process of English for Economics learning activities

PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA BUKU TEMPEL DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MENCERITAKAN KEMBALI ISI FABEL PADA KELAS VII SMP
Media buku tempel diterapkan pada materi teks fabel khususnya kompetensi menceritakan kembali isi teks fabel. Dibagian terakhir terdapat gambar yang akan merangsang siswa dalam mengembangkan imajinasinya saat menceritakan kembali isi teks fabel yang dibacanya. Isi yang ada dalam buku tempel sesuai dengan indicator pencapaian pada materi menceritakan kembali isi fabel. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan 4 teks fabel yang berbeda disetiap buku tempel yang dibuat. Model penelitian pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model pengembangan Sadiman yang terdiri dari enam tahap, yaitu (1) menganalisis kebutuhan peserta didik, (2) merumuskan tujuan instruksional (instructional objective) dengan operasional khas, (3) meruuskan tujuan, (4) mengembangkan alat ukur keberhasilan, (5) menulis naskah media, (6) tes dan revisi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VII J SMPN 17 Surabaya. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan teknik wawancara dan angket kebutuhan peserta didik yang memperoleh data proses pengembangan media buku tempel. Teknik validasi, observasi, angket respon, dan tes hasil belajar digunakan untuk memperoleh kualitas media buku tempel. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) proses pegembangan media buk tempel , (2) Kualitas media buku tempel yang meliputi kevalidan, keefektifan dan kepraktisan. Data kevalidan media buku tempel dapat dikategorikan “sangat layak” dengan hasil penilaian validasi yang menujukkan rata-rata 84%. Data hasil pengamatan aktivitas guru dalam pembelajaran menceritakan kembali isi fabel dikategorikan “sangat efektif” yang mencapai persentase 81%. Selain itu, aktivitas siswa ketika melaksanakan proses pembelajaran menceritakan kembali isi fabel menggunakan buku tempel dikategorikan “sangat efektif” dengan persentase 83%. Kemudian rata-rata hasil belajar siswa mencapai 85,25. Hal ini termasuk kategori “sangat efektif”. Data mengenai tingkat kepraktisan media buku tempel dikategorikan “sangat praktis ” untuk proses pembelajaran menceritakan kembali isi teks fabel pada kelas VII-J SMP Negeri 17 Surabaya dengan hasil 95,33. The purpose of this research are: 1). to test and analyze the effect of training on employee performance at Sales Department PT. X. 2). to test and analyze the effect of incentives on employee performance at Sales Department PT. X. 3). to test and analyze the effect of supervision on employee performance at Sales Department PT. X. 4). to test and analyze the effect of training on motivation at Sales Department PT. X. 5). to test and analyze the influence of incentives on motivation at the Sales Department of PT. X. 6). to test and analyze the influence of supervision on motivation at the Sales Department of PT. X. 7). to test and analyze the effect of employee performance on motivation at Sales Department PT. X. The results of this study are: 1). there is influence of training on employee performance , with path coefficient 0,167 and tcount 2,015 with probability equal to 0,046 (0,046 <0.05). 2). there is influence of incentive on employee performance , with path coefficient 0,187 and tcount 2,293 with probability equal to 024 (0.024 <0.05). 3). there is an influence of supervision on employee performance , with path coefficient of 0403 and tcount of 5.004 with probability of 0.000 (0.000 <0.05). 4). there is influence of training on motivation , with path coefficient of 0.156 and tcount of 2,185 with probability of 0.031 (0.031 <0.05). 5). There is influence of incentive to motivation , with path coefficient 0,161 and tcount 2,260 with probability equal to 0.026 (0.026 <0.05). 6). there is influence of supervision to motivation , with path coefficient 0,350 and tcount 4,636 with probability equal to 0.000 (0.000 <0.05). 7). there is influence of employee performance to motivation , with path coefficient 0,314 and tcount 3,978 with probability 0,000 (0.000 <0.05

Our aim is to explore the role Artificial Intelligence has on widening the gender inequality gap that currently exists in the field of Information Technology. This study builds on the 'Advancement of Women in Technology (AWT) framework and 'The implicit bias theory to explore women's ability and willingness to enter and remain in an AI related career. By conducting semi-structured interviews of 4 users of AI as a pilot study, data gathered enables us to draw a parallel to fully understand the existing gender gap in AI and the general invisibility which women as contributors to the industry experience and make recommendations for industry practise
Scoliosis : density-equalizing mapping and scientometric analysis
Background: Publications related to scoliosis have increased enormously. A differentiation between publications of major and minor importance has become difficult even for experts. Scientometric data on developments and tendencies in scoliosis research has not been available to date. The aim of the current study was to evaluate the scientific efforts of scoliosis research both quantitatively and qualitatively.
Methods: Large-scale data analysis, density-equalizing algorithms and scientometric methods were used to evaluate both the quantity and quality of research achievements of scientists studying scoliosis. Density-equalizing algorithms were applied to data retrieved from ISI-Web.
Results: From 1904 to 2007, 8,186 items pertaining to scoliosis were published and included in the database. The studies were published in 76 countries: the USA, the U.K. and Canada being the most productive centers. The Washington University (St. Louis, Missouri) was identified as the most prolific institution during that period, and orthopedics represented by far the most productive medical discipline. "BRADFORD, DS" is the most productive author (146 items), and "DANSEREAU, J" is the author with the highest scientific impact (h-index of 27).
Conclusion: Our results suggest that currently established measures of research output (i.e. impact factor, h-index) should be evaluated critically because phenomena, such as self-citation and co-authorship, distort the results and limit the value of the conclusions that may be drawn from these measures. Qualitative statements are just tractable by the comparison of the parameters with respect to multiple linkages. In order to obtain more objective evaluation tools, new measurements need to be developed
Global Maps of Science based on the new Web-of-Science Categories
In August 2011, Thomson Reuters launched version 5 of the Science and Social
Science Citation Index in the Web of Science (WoS). Among other things, the 222
ISI Subject Categories (SCs) for these two databases in version 4 of WoS were
renamed and extended to 225 WoS Categories (WCs). A new set of 151 Subject
Categories (SCs) was added, but at a higher level of aggregation. Since we
previously used the ISI SCs as the baseline for a global map in Pajek (Rafols
et al., 2010) and brought this facility online (at
http://www.leydesdorff.net/overlaytoolkit), we recalibrated this map for the
new WC categories using the Journal Citation Reports 2010. In the new
installation, the base maps can also be made using VOSviewer (Van Eck &

Penggunaan Media Komik untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Membaca Cerita di Kelas V Sekolah Dasar
Hasil observasi dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia pada membaca cerita untuk menyimpulkan isi cerita yang dilakukan di Kelas V berjalan kurang optimal. Hasil belajar menyimpulkan isi cerita yang diberikan oleh guru kelas menunjukkan sebanyak dari 31 siswa masih ada 20 siswa yang kurang mampu dalam menyimpulkan isi cerita. Dalam menyimpulkan cerita, Siswa masih terkesan menceritakan kembali. Kurang mampunya siswa dalam menyimpulkan isi cerita disebabkan oleh guru tidak menggunakan media dalam pembelajaran sehingga pembelajaran menjadi kurang menarik. Oleh karena itu, peneliti melaksanakan penelitian tindakan kelas untuk memperbaiki pembelajaran menyimpulkan cerita dengan menggunakan media komik. Prosedur pelaksanaan penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus yang meliputi tiga tahapan, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan pengamatan, dan refleksi. Data penelitian diperoleh dari observasi, tes hasil belajar, dan catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas guru mengalami peningkatan. Pada Siklus I aktivitas guru memperoleh persentase 100% dengan skor ketercapaian pada pertemuan ke-1 sebesar 77,3 dan 80,4 pada pertemuan ke-2. Sedangkan pada Siklus II keterlaksanaan aktivitas guru memperoleh persentase 100% dengan skor ketercapaian pertemuan ke-1 sebesar 85,2 dan 91,3 pada pertemuan ke-2. Untuk hasil belajar menyimpulkan isi cerita juga mengalami peningkatan, yaitu pada siklus I rata-rata hasil belajar siswa sebesar 72,1 dengan ketuntasan klasikal 67,7% dan Siklus II sebesar 80,1 dengan ketuntasan klasikal 83,87%. Kendala yang muncul dalam pembelajaran yaitu penggunaan media yang terlalu kecil namun hal tersebut dapat diatasi oleh guru dengan membuat media yang lebih besar dalam menyampaikan materi. Untuk itu, media komik cocok digunakan dalam pembelajaran membaca cerita untuk menyimpulkan isi cerita, karena terbukti dapat meningkatkan hasil pembelajaran
