    The cause of low yield of soybean in Indonesia, among others is a disease. To find out what disease that attacks soybean crops needed an expert in the field of agriculture. Disease that often impairs the soybean plant is rust. In addition to lowering the yield, rust disease also potentially lower the quality of soybean seeds. In addition to these there are many more diseases that are present in the soy plant. Expert system for soybean disease defines is one alternative to detect disease of soybean. The method used is rule based system and forward chaining method. The system will be made to provide an unbiased decision about the type of disease affecting soybean and handling. Web based system is built in order to spread information more accessible. Result of the application that have been tested by three expert crops by conducting interview and application testing performed eight times on each trial expert. Based on test result obtained from 24 experiments by expert is 22 times the experiment successfully identified soybean disease and two trials did not identify soybean disease. The trial result concluded the expert system can determine soybean disease based on symptoms in plant soybean

    Biodiesel kelapa sawit diprediksi oleh banyak kalangan menjadi andalan sebagai sumber bahan bakar nabati (BBN) yang paling tinggi produktivitasnya dibandingkan dengan sumber BBN lainnya. Proses produksi biodiesel kelapa sawit berpotensi mencemari lingkungan akibat dari keluaran limbah padat (tandan buah kosong, serat, cangkang buah dan abu bakar) dan limbah cair kelapa sawit (palm oil mill effluent/POME). Makalah ini mengevaluasi dan mendiskusikan potensi penangkapan gas metan dari POME sebagai energi terbarukan dan estimasi penyelamatan emisi karbon yang dihasilkan selama proses produksi BBN. Data kualitas dan kuantitas gas metan yang diperoleh dari studi ini akan diadaptasikan dengan nilai faktor energi dan faktor emisi dari sumber pustaka yang terpercaya. Hasil evaluasi dan perhitungan menyatakan bahwa kualitas dan kuantitas POME menentukan jumlah gas metan yang dihasilkan secara signifikan. Hasil inventori energi mencatat bahwa potensi energi yang dihasilkan dari penangkapan gas metan dari POME berkisar 427,2 MJ/FU (fungsional unit). Nilai energi ini menaikkan net energy ratio (NER) dari 3,19 menjadi 3,31 atau sebesar 3,4 %. Inovasi penangkapan gas metan ini juga menghasilkan penyelamatan emisi gas karbon sebesar 126,4 kg/FU atau mengurangi emisi karbon sekitar 8,2 % dari nilai yang umum terjadi

    Influence of Immersion Length on Tetracycline Absorption on Gourami (Osphronemus Gouramy) Scales as Adsorbent. Gourami (Osphronemus Gouramy) scales are one of the natural sources of collagen. This fish scale\u27s collagen has functional properties, such as bio-degradable (easily decomposed), bio-compatible (compatible with surrounding tissue), and potential as bio-adsorbent. The absorbent properties of collagen are currently used as a transport material in local drug delivery for periodontal disease treatment, which is known as tetracycline chip. However, this chip is made of synthetic collagen so it is not absorbable by the body\u27s system. The price is also expensive. This study\u27s aim is to prove the potency of Gourami scales as a source of collagen in medical treatment, especially as a transport material of tetracycline for periodontal disease treatment. The gourami scale was obtained from seafood restaurant in Jember, Jawa Timur. About 500 mg of gourami scales was immersed into 20 ml tetracycline solution in beaker glass. About 200 μl solution from the beaker glass was taken with micropipette after 1-hour, 2-hour, 4-hour, 12-hour and 24-hour after immersed. After that, the solution was collected into an eppendorf for each time. The absorbance was measured with spectrophotometer at 450 nm wave length. This procedure was repeated five times. The lowest absorbance occured at 1-hour time (160,6 μg/μl). The result from light and inverted microscope examination shows a bond between collagen from gourami scales with tetracycline. Gourami scale has the ability to absorb the highest rate of tetracycline at 1-hour immersed time by forming a bond between collagen and tetracycline

    Indonesia memiliki banyak potensi sumber daya alam (SDA) yang dapat di jadikan sebagai destinasi pariwisata. Berbagai potensi sumber daya alam tersebut harus di kelola dengan baik sehingga dapat di jadikan sebagai daya tarik wisata serta sebagai suatu nilai jual terhadap potensi wisata suatu daerah. Namun dalam implementasinya terdapat bebagai kendala yang terjadi, salah satunya prasarana dan sarana yang kurang memadai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan identifikasi kondisi prasarana dan sarana wisata pantai Sulamadaha serta mengetahui strategi untuk mengembangkan kawasan wisata Pantai Sulamadaha. Penelitian ini menganalisis tentang kawasan wisata Pantai Sulamadaha di Kota Ternate dengan menggunakan metode analisis model interaktifyaitu terdapat tiga proses yang belangsung secara interaktif, diantaranya : reduksi data, penyajian data dan vertifikasi data serta analisis SWOT. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukan pada kondisi eksisting secara keseluruhan dapat disimpulkan bahwa kondisi prasarana dan sarana pada kawasan wisata Pantai Sulamadaha masih membutuhkan perbaikan dan penambahan fasilitas, dari 14 prasarana dan sarana wisata yang terdapat pada lokasi penelitian hanya 2 prasarana dan 2 sarana yang berpotensi untuk mendukung aktivitas wisata sedangkan 10 fasilitas prasarana dan sarana lainnya masih tergolong buruk sehingga perlu di perbaiki. Setelah melakukan analisis lebih lanjut dengan menggunakan analisis swot terdapat beberapa faktor diantaranya faktor kekuatan dengan jumlah 3.00 yang merupakan faktor dengan jumlah tertinggi, faktor kelemahan dengan jumlah 2.00, faktor peluang yang mendekati jumlah tinggi 2.40 serta faktor ancaman yang hampir mendekati jumlah yang tinggi 1.30 dan merupakan faktor yang sangat mengancam.Kata Kunci : Kawasan Wisata, Prasarana, Sarana, Pantai Sulamadah

    UPT (Unit Permukiman Transmigrasi) Tanggul Harapan adalah salah satu desa binaan yang ada di desa Pematang Limau yang berada di Kecamatan Seruyan Hilir, Kabupaten Seruyan. Kehidupan sehari-hari masyarakat UPT Tanggul Harapan diantaranya sebagai petani kelapa sawit dan berkebun serta beternak ikan. Kondisi lingkungan dan kebersihan di UPT Tanggul Harapan bisa dikategorikan masih belum memadai serta kurangnya pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat akan pola hidup sehat menjadikan desa ini sebagai salah satu desa yang terdampak stunting.     Changes in Culture Expanded Human Amniotic Epithelial Cells: Implications for Potential Therapeutic Applications

    Human amniotic epithelial cells (hAEC) isolated from term placenta have stem cell-like properties, differentiate into tissue specific cells and reduce lung and liver inflammation and fibrosis following transplantation into disease models established in mice. These features together with their low immunogenicity and immunosuppressive properties make hAEC an attractive source of cells for potential therapeutic applications. However, generation of large cell numbers required for therapies through serial expansion in xenobiotic-free media may be a limiting factor. We investigated if hAEC could be expanded in xenobiotic-free media and if expansion altered their differentiation capacity, immunophenotype, immunosuppressive properties and production of immunomodulatory factors. Serial expansion in xenobiotic-free media was limited with cumulative cell numbers and population doubling times significantly lower than controls maintained in fetal calf serum. The epithelial morphology of primary hAEC changed into mesenchymal-stromal like cells by passage 4–5 (P4–P5) with down regulation of epithelial markers CK7, CD49f, EpCAM and E-cadherin and elevation of mesenchymal-stromal markers CD44, CD105, CD146 and vimentin. The P5 hAEC expanded in xenobiotic-free medium differentiated into osteocyte and alveolar epithelium-like cells, but not chondrocyte, hepatocyte, α- and β-pancreatic-like cells. Expression of HLA Class IA, Class II and co-stimulatory molecules CD80, CD86 and CD40 remained unaltered. The P5 hAEC suppressed mitogen stimulated T cell proliferation, but were less suppressive compared with primary hAEC at higher splenocyte ratios. Primary and P5 hAEC did not secrete the immunosuppressive factors IL-10 and HGF, whereas TGF-β1 and HLA-G were reduced and IL-6 elevated in P5 hAEC. These findings suggest that primary and expanded hAEC may be suitable for different cellular therapeutic applications
