Development of Oxidation Resistant Coatings on GRCop-84 Substrates by Cold Spray Process
GRCop-84, a Cu-CR-Nb alloy, has been developed for rocket engine liner applications. For maximum life additional oxidation protection is required to prevent blanching. NiCrAlY was identified as a suitable coating, and efforts were initiated to develop suitable coating techniques. Cold spray is one technique under consideration. Efforts at ASB Industries to produce dense, adherent coatings are detailed. The work culminated in the production of samples for testing at NASA Glenn Research Center
Weakly Supervised Localization using Deep Feature Maps
Object localization is an important computer vision problem with a variety of
applications. The lack of large scale object-level annotations and the relative
abundance of image-level labels makes a compelling case for weak supervision in
the object localization task. Deep Convolutional Neural Networks are a class of
state-of-the-art methods for the related problem of object recognition. In this
paper, we describe a novel object localization algorithm which uses
classification networks trained on only image labels. This weakly supervised
method leverages local spatial and semantic patterns captured in the
convolutional layers of classification networks. We propose an efficient beam
search based approach to detect and localize multiple objects in images. The
proposed method significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art in standard
object localization data-sets with a 8 point increase in mAP scores
Search Tracker: Human-derived object tracking in-the-wild through large-scale search and retrieval
Humans use context and scene knowledge to easily localize moving objects in
conditions of complex illumination changes, scene clutter and occlusions. In
this paper, we present a method to leverage human knowledge in the form of
annotated video libraries in a novel search and retrieval based setting to
track objects in unseen video sequences. For every video sequence, a document
that represents motion information is generated. Documents of the unseen video
are queried against the library at multiple scales to find videos with similar
motion characteristics. This provides us with coarse localization of objects in
the unseen video. We further adapt these retrieved object locations to the new
video using an efficient warping scheme. The proposed method is validated on
in-the-wild video surveillance datasets where we outperform state-of-the-art
appearance-based trackers. We also introduce a new challenging dataset with
complex object appearance changes.Comment: Under review with the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for

Outlining International English language proficiency tests: A survey-based study on its need, purpose and scope in the backdrop of Migration
English as an international language and its proficiency is a gateway for Career, Education and
Migration. In order to ensure the same, there are many international English language tests are
conducted by different organizations worldwide. Their results and score are considered as a
mandatory eligibility criterion for job, education and migration by different organizations and
institutions. All these tests are primarily testing the ability of a candidate in the four skills of English
Language. This article refers various international English language proficiency tests, its features,
question and scoring pattern. The commonly used tests are IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo English Test,
OET, CPE (C2 Proficiency), CAE (C1 Advanced), PTE (Pearson Test of English Academic), TOEIC,
iTEP, CELPIP, CAEL, MTELP. It also describes how these tests are differ each other in purpose and
patten. The researcher conducted a short survey among UG freshers to analyze their awareness and
confidence in English language proficiency tests. The results show that many of the UG learners wish
to migrate to foreign countries for higher studies but they don’t have enough awareness regarding the
proficiency tests. One of the predominant problems for many non-native speakers of English to secure
a good job and failed to be recognized and rewarded in accordance with their skill, is the inefficiency
to use English language. Therefore, coaching centers for these tests and its rigorous preparation is a
lucrative business in non-European countries especially in a scenario where migration is encouraged.
Often, the lack of awareness about these tests and its purpose will mislead the test takers. It is also
important to choose the right test as per the field and purpose as the scores of the test
Richard Eberhart’s Poetic Theory: Art and Craft
This paper is a maiden attempt to bring a promising, independent and prolific poet, richard eberhart to the fore, and to focus attention on the most dominating and pervasive theme in his poetry. His central theme of mortality is like a lofty mountain that dominates the entire landscape of his works. No matter what the road the reader takes, what pass he treads, he would find the mountain bursting on his vision at every turn of the way and at every parting of the hills. The secret of his upheld popularity rests on his uniquely strong individuality, romantic mould, spasmodic vigor, simplicity of expression and a deep concern for mankind. Kenneth Rexroth has rightly remarked that Eberhart is the poet of the academies. His long teaching experience, in school, navy and colleges; ‘independent intelligence’ and imaginative fervor, confirm the indisputable statement. He is a poet who is greatly indebted to tradition as far as the influences are concerned but he owes equally to ‘traditionless’ experiments. He attempts neither influences nor ‘traditionless’ experiments for its own sake, unless it contributes to the aesthetic integrity. He is totally devoted and sincerely dedicated to the writing of poetry but never considers it as an accident. He has a high notion of poetry like the Emersonian transcendental value of poetry. He feels that a successful poem is a proportionate blending of feeling and ideas: Poetry is the heart and head. If it is all heart, it may become soft. If it is all head, it becomes arid. (Opp,5) Here is a poet who vows to live for poetry: Some of our best poets have died for poetry by suicide. Poets should not die but should live for it. I deplore the suicides of these people. (Ralph J.Mills. Richard Eberhart, 13
