Potential Effect: Aharonov-Bohm Effect of Simply Connected Region
We study a generalization of Aharonov-Bohm effect, the potential effect. The
discussion is focused on field-free effects in simply connected region, which
obviously can not have any local field-flux. Among the published discussions
about this kind of effects, it is generally agreed that this kind of effects
does not exist due to gauge invariance. However, there are also opinions that
this effect is a trivial variation of Aharonov-Bohm effect and therefore there
is no need to check its existence. To my knowledge, it has never been tested.
My first goal here is to supply enough theoretical reason to motivate the
experimental test of this effect. I start with an intuitive derivation, then I
introduce a wave-front theory as a theoretical consideration. Logically, the
existence of potential effect implies the existence of the AB effect, but not
vice versa. The purpose of this paper is to provide a physical connection in

Parity-Violating Excitation of the \Delta(1232): Hadron Structure and New Physics
We consider prospects for studying the parity-violating (PV) electroweak
excitation of the \Delta(1232) resonance with polarized electron scattering.
Given present knowledge of Standard Model parameters, such PV experiments could
allow a determination of the N -> \Delta electroweak helicity amplitudes. We
discuss the experimental feasibility and theoretical interpretability of such a
determination as well as the prospective implications for hadron structure
theory. We also analyze the extent to which a PV N -> \Delta measurement could

Nucleon to Delta Weak Excitation Amplitudes in the Non-relativistic Quark Model
We investigate the nucleon to Delta(1232) vector and axial vector amplitudes
in the non-relativistic quark model of the Isgur-Karl variety. A particular
interest is to investigate the SU(6) symmetry breaking, due to color hyperfine
interaction. We compare the theoretical estimates to recent experimental
