Market supply response of imported sardinella in Cross River State, Nigeria
This study was carried out to determine the market supply response of imported frozen sardinella in Cross River State, Nigeria. Secondary data used for the study were obtained from the records of the five wholesalecompanies in Cross River state. Cointegration and error correction models were used in analyzing market supply response. The following results were obtained; the short-run and long-run own price elasticity were 2.062 and 1.257 which were significant at the 5 percent and 1 percent levels respectively. The error correction coefficient Ect(-1) was - 1.536 which was significant at the 5 percent level. The own price long-run elasticity estimates were in accordance with a priori expectations. Adjustment from short-run towards long-run equilibrium was achieved instantaneously. Consequently, short-run elasticity estimates were found to be larger than those of the long-run. This study recommends the provision good distribution network to avert distortions in supply.KEY WORDS: Market Supply, Cointegration, Short Run, Long Run, Price Elasticity

Interpersonal Distancing, School Climate, and Satisfaction Among Black and White Students in Rural and Urban Desegregated High Schools.
The main purpose of this study was to discover the differences between black and white students in urban and rural desegregated high schools with regards to their interpersonal distancing based on race, perceptions of school climates for achievement and satisfaction with educational services and secondly, to determine the influence relationships between these factors. The author developed six research questions to guide the analyses of survey data collected by the Program for Educational Opportunity (PEO), the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. The samples in the study consisted of 263 black and 161 white students r and omly selected from two desegregated high schools in the State of Michigan. The results indicated: (1) white students had greater desire for classroom interpersonal distancing based on race than black students, though the two groups were not different in out-of-classroom interpersonal distancing; (2) black students had more positive perceptions of school climates for achievement and satisfaction with educational services than did white students; (3) black and white students at the rural school showed greater desire for interpersonal distancing based on race and less positive perceptions of school climates for achievement (.01) than those at the urban school; (4) black and white students in the rural school showed greater satisfaction with counseling services and black and white students in the urban school showed greater satisfaction with the kind of education and overall educational services they were receiving. The two schools were not different in the satisfaction of black and white students with after school activities; (5) mutual influence relationships existed between out-of-classroom interpersonal distancing based on race, perceptions of school climates for achievement and satisfaction with educational services of both black and white students; and (6) the subjects' classroom interpersonal distancing based on race did not significantly influence nor was it influenced by either their perceptions of school climates for achievement or their satisfaction with educational services. Several recommendations were made for further research and educational practice.Ph.D.Educational psychologyUniversity of Michiganhttp://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/158467/1/8125135.pd
Decomposition of water into highly combustible hydroxyl gas used in internal combustion engines for electricity generation
Global warming is on the increase and the current energy trends are headed towards the use of alternative sources of energy that produce less amounts of carbon dioxide. This paper proposes water as an alternative energy source that is cheap, abundant in nature and will achieve minimum emission goal. The method proposed involves the decomposition of water into highly combustible hydroxyl gas via electrolysis, which is used in internal combustion engines of electrical generators for electricity generation. The by-product obtained from combustion of this gas is water vapour and oxygen to replenish the atmosphere. This technology could also be used in various gasoline/diesel driven machines. Keywords: Water, hydroxyl gas, electrolysis, electricity generation, Brown’s gas, global warming International Journal of Natural and Applied Sciences, 6(4): 448 - 454, 201
Male Colleagues\' Attitudes and Professional Women\'s Adjustment Patterns in their Work Setting
This study is a survey design set to determine the adjustment patterns of professional women to their male colleagues' attitude in their work setting. Data was collected from 450 respondents in Rivers state, using the stratified random sampling, and four variables were used to test the hypothesis. Results showed that there is no significant
difference in the women's adjustment patterns to their male colleagues' attitude in their work place. However one of the variables (sexual advances) was significant, showing that women in the public sector adjust better than their counterparts in the private sector. Further analysis of the result in simple percentage show the adjustment patterns of professional women. It reveals that a higher percentage of professional women caution their male colleagues when they spite their authority, persuade them not to undermine their decisions, avoid their profane jokes and object strongly to their sexual advances.LWATI: A Journal of Contemporary Research Vol. 5 2008: pp. 37-4

The findings of the study showed a significant influence of achievement-motivation, attitude and gender on students’ mathematics performance. This study results also showed that students’ who manifested high, moderate and low achievement motivation differed significantly, while those with positive attitude perform better than their counterparts with negative attitude.
