Otto Isakower Collection 1914-1974

Correspondence to the Viennese psychoanalyst Otto Isakower, both before and after his emigration to New York, comprises the bulk of this collection. There are also various notes and drafts of Isakower's writings.Otto Isakower was born in Vienna in 1899, where he received his education and practiced as a psychoanalyst. He emigrated to England in 1938 and then to New York in 1940. In his professional capacity he was known for his interests in dream research and in the pedagogy of psychoanalysis.
