    Linguistic game plays (version for Hindi)

    This article describes how teachers of Hindi language can diversify their lessons teaching language for one or twoyear students. The research concerns the usage of linguistic game Sudoku on Hindi lessons. The article from which we have made a start is called “Learning to Hypothesize with Confidence through Sudoku Game Play”. It was written by Y.L.Teresa Ting, a teacher of the University of Calabria (Italy). The Hindi version of this game aims to stimulate interest among students in the study of complex grammar of Hindi language, especially mastering the skills for using postpositions, which are not in their native language. This game is suitable both for self-study student, and to conduct a linguistic group.

    Correlation between topological band character and chemical bonding in a Bi14Rh3I9\mathbf{Bi_{14}Rh_{3}I_{9}}-based family of insulators

    Recently the presence of topologically protected edge-states in Bi14_{14}Rh3_3I9_9 was confirmed by scanning tunnelling microscopy consolidating this compound as a weak 3D topological insulator (TI). Here, we present a density-functional-theory-based study on a family of TIs derived from the Bi14_{14}Rh3_3I9_9 parent structure via substitution of Ru, Pd, Os, Ir and Pt for Rh. Comparative analysis of the band-structures throughout the entire series is done by means of a unified minimalistic tight-binding model that evinces strong similarity between the quantum-spin-Hall (QSH) layer in Bi14_{14}Rh3_3I9_9 and graphene in terms of pzp_z-molecular orbitals. Topologically non-trivial energy gaps are found for the Ir-, Rh-, Pt- and Pd-based systems, whereas the Os- and Ru-systems remain trivial. Furthermore, the energy position of the metal dd-band centre is identified as the parameter which governs the evolution of the topological character of the band structure through the whole family of TIs. The dd-band position is shown to correlate with the chemical bonding within the QSH layers, thus revealing how the chemical nature of the constituents affects the topological band character

    Trends of the major porin gene (ompF) evolution

    OmpF is one of the major general porins of Enterobacteriaceae that belongs to the first line of bacterial defense and interactions with the biotic as well as abiotic environments. Porins are surface exposed and their structures strongly reflect the history of multiple interactions with the environmental challenges. Unfortunately, little is known on diversity of porin genes of Enterobacteriaceae and the genus Yersinia especially. We analyzed the sequences of the ompF gene from 73 Yersinia strains covering 14 known species. The phylogenetic analysis placed most of the Yersinia strains in the same line assigned by 16S rDNA-gyrB tree. Very high congruence in the tree topologies was observed for Y. enterocolitica, Y. kristensenii, Y. ruckeri, indicating that intragenic recombination in these species had no effect on the ompF gene. A significant level of intra- and interspecies recombination was found for Y. aleksiciae, Y. intermedia and Y. mollaretii. Our analysis shows that the ompF gene of Yersinia has evolved with nonrandom mutational rate under purifying selection. However, several surface loops in the OmpF porin contain positively selected sites, which very likely reflect adaptive diversification Yersinia to their ecological niches. To our knowledge, this is a first investigation of diversity of the porin gene covering the whole genus of the family Enterobacteriaceae. This study demonstrates that recombination and positive selection both contribute to evolution of ompF, but the relative contribution of these evolutionary forces are different among Yersinia species

    This paper investigates experience relating to the distance education in technology by means of e-learning courses as the most resource-efficient method to provide quality education. Training content of the E-learning course consists of basic and additional theoretic materials, practice tasks etc. and it can be implemented with the help of various tools. This paper is focused on the analysis of different tools in e-learning courses for practical training such as Screen cast (mp4 video), info graphic guidelines, records of webinars. The article evaluates the cost effectiveness of these tools both in costs for training production (content wrapping) and learning by the students. Resource efficiency was evaluated for the following: work input, staff time, value, relevance of the e-learning course’s tools for students, and academic progress of the students. The practice-oriented E-learning courses and LMS Moodle as a special educational environment are the most resource-efficient approaches to provide a distance teaching process

    Pressure-tuning of α\alpha-RuCl3_3 towards the ideal Kitaev-limit

    We report the discovery of an intriguing pressure-driven phase transformation in the layered Kitaev-material α\alpha-RuCl3_3. By analyzing both the Bragg scattering as well as the diffuse scattering of high-quality single crystals, we reveal a collective reorganization of the layer stacking throughout the crystal. Importantly, this transformation also effects the structure of the RuCl3_3 honeycomb layers, which acquire a high trigonal symmetry with a single Ru--Ru distance of 3.41\r{A} and a single Ru--Cl--Ru bond angle of 92.8{\deg}. Hydrostatic pressure therefore allows to tune the structure of α\alpha-RuCl3_3 much closer to the ideal Kitaev-limit. The high-symmetry phase can also be stabilized by biaxial stress, which can explain conflicting results reported earlier and, more importantly, makes the high-symmetry phase accessible to a variety of experiments

    Molecular Evolution of the Yersinia Major Outer Membrane Protein C (OmpC)

    The genus Yersinia includes species with a wide range of eukaryotic hosts (from fish, insects, and plants to mammals and humans). One of the major outer membrane proteins, the porin OmpC, is preferentially expressed in the host gut, where osmotic pressure, temperature, and the concentrations of nutrients and toxic products are relatively high. We consider here the molecular evolution and phylogeny of Yersinia ompC. The maximum likelihood gene tree reflects the macroevolution processes occurring within the genus Yersinia. Positive selection and horizontal gene transfer are the key factors of ompC diversification, and intraspecies recombination was revealed in two Yersinia species. The impact of recombination on ompC evolution was different from that of another major porin gene, ompF, possibly due to the emergence of additional functions and conservation of the basic transport function. The predicted antigenic determinants of OmpC were located in rapidly evolving regions, which may indicate the evolutionary mechanisms of Yersinia adaptation to the host immune system

    Perception of Time Perspective in Substance-Dependent Individuals

    Background. The perception of time perspective in substance-dependent individuals is considered as a dynamic characteristic of the personality, which can be both a predictor of the effectiveness of self-determination in life and a risk factor for further abuse of alcohol and drugs. Assisted forming of a balanced time perspective and a positive attitude toward all time dimensions has the potential to improve rehabilitation programs and the effectiveness of psychological interventions for substance-dependent individuals. Objective. The article aims to summarize the most significant published current national and international research on the topic of time perspective perception in substance-dependent individuals. An analysis of current directions and prospects for further study of the problem are suggested. Methods. The selection and analysis of studies of the last 10 years on the topic of time perspective in substance-dependent individuals were carried out. Results. A scientific review of studies was carried out in the following areas: 1) time perspective in substance-dependent individuals; 2) possibilities of psychological intervention for time perspective modification. Conclusion. The analysis of scientific publications has shown that a time perspective in substance dependence is a relevant area of international research. Based on the findings, methods and approaches of psychotherapeutic assistance to substance users in the process of their rehabilitation are being developed and improved. Russian research on the time perspective of substance users is represented by a small number of studies, which mainly consider imbalanced temporal orientations as a risk factor for relapse into addictive behaviour. A multi-faceted study of temporal perspective and its balance at different stages of rehabilitation has the potential to improve the effectiveness of psychotherapeutic work
