Comment on "Valence QCD: Connecting QCD to the Quark Model"
I criticize certain conclusions about the physics of hadrons drawn from a
"valence QCD" approximation to QCD.Comment: 12 pages, 8 figures; some minor improvements made to the tex
A new look at scalar mesons
Light scalar mesons are found to fit rather well a diquark-antidiquark
description. The resulting nonet obeys mass formulae which respect, to a good
extent, the OZI rule. OZI allowed strong decays are reasonably reproduced by a
single amplitude describing the switch of a qbar-q pair, which transforms the
state into two colourless pseudoscalar mesons. Predicted heavy states with one
or more quarks replaced by charm or beauty are briefly described; they should
give rise to narrow states with exotic quantum numbers.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figure, misprints corrected, references added, accepted

Black hole thermalization rate from brane anti-brane model
We develop the quasi-particle picture for Schwarzchild and far from extremal
black holes. We show that the thermalization equations of the black hole is
recovered from the model of branes and anti-branes. This can also be viewed as
a field theory explanation of the relationship between area and entropy for
these black holes. As a by product the annihilation rate of branes and
anti-branes is computed.Comment: 11 pages, late
Fast Scramblers Of Small Size
We investigate various geometrical aspects of the notion of `optical depth'
in the thermal atmosphere of black hole horizons. Optical depth has been
proposed as a measure of fast-crambling times in such black hole systems, and
the associated optical metric suggests that classical chaos plays a leading
role in the actual scrambling mechanism. We study the behavior of the optical
depth with the size of the system and find that AdS/CFT phase transitions with
topology change occur naturally as the scrambler becomes smaller than its
thermal length. In the context of detailed AdS/CFT models based on D-branes,
T-duality implies that small scramblers are described in terms of matrix
quantum mechanics.Comment: 14 pages, 3 figures. Added reference
Empirical Determination of Threshold Partial Wave Amplitudes in
Using the model independent irreducible tensor approach to
production in collisions, we show theoretically that, it is advantageous
to measure experimentally the polarization of , in addition to the
proposed experimental study employing a polarized beam and a polarized target.Comment: 6 pages, 1 Table, Latex-2
