Methods of residual quantities of antibiotics and inhibitors detection in raw milk

The article is devoted to the problems of detection of residual quantities of antibiotics and inhibitors in raw milk. It was analyzed the following microbiological methods: substances diffusion into agar, reductase probe, biocalorimetry and biotesting of microalgae motion. In the publication was shown that methods of biocalorimetry and biotesting of Euglena gracilis motion allow to increase sensitivity of antibiotics detection and to decrease time and labour inputs for analyses. These methods may be recommended for practical application at dairy farms and dairy processing enterprises

Strong short-range magnetic order in a frustrated FCC lattice and its possible role in the iron structural transformation

We investigate magnetic properties of a frustrated Heisenberg antiferromagnet with a face-centered cubic (FCC) lattice and exchange interactions between the nearest- and next-nearest neighbours, J1 and J2. In a collinear phase with the wave vector Q = (pi,pi,pi) the equations of the self-consistent spin-wave theory for the sublattice magnetization and the average short range order parameter are obtained and numerically solved. The dependence of the Neel temperature T_N on the ratio J2/J1 is obtained. It is shown, that at strong enough frustration there is a wide temperature region above T_N with strong short range magnetic order. Application of this result to description of structural phase transition between alpha and gamma-phase of Fe is considered

Фактом є переважно негативне ставлення населення Сходу та Півдня України до вступу України в НАТО. Це підтверджується всіма соціологічними опитуваннями, які проводилися останніми роками. В статті розлядаються деякі глибинні – історичні та демографічні – причини такого ставлення.Predominantly negative attitude of the population of Eastern and Southern Ukraine to Ukraine joining NATO is the fact. This is confirmed by all opinion polls, conducted in recent years. The p(d,p)d and p(d,p)pn reactions as a tool for the study of the short range internal structure of the deuteron

In recent time the deuteron structure at short distances is often treated from the point of view nonnucleonic degrees of freedom. The hyperfine transition in light muonic atoms of odd Z

The hyperfine (hf) transition rates for muonic atoms have been re-measured for select light nuclei, using neutron detectors to evaluate the time dependence of muon capture. For $^{19}$F $\Lambda$$_{h}$ = 5.6 (2) $\mu$s$^{-1}$ for the hf transition rate, a value which is considerably more accurate than previous measurements. Results are also reported for Na, Al, P, Cl, and K; that result for P is the first positive identification.Comment: 12 pages including 5 tables and 4 figures, RevTex, submitted to Phys. Rev.

Forward analysis of π\piN scattering with an expansion method

The $\pi$N forward scattering data are analyzed using an expansion method, where the invariant amplitudes are represented by expansions satisfying the forward dispersion relations. The experimental errors of the data are taken into account through the covariance matrix of the coefficients of the expansions in a careful error analysis. From the results, some coefficients, $c_{n0}^\pm$, of the subthreshold expansions have been calculated with proper error bars.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures. v2: Added some references. v3: Corrected hyphenatio

Zero temperature phases of the frustrated J1-J2 antiferromagnetic spin-1/2 Heisenberg model on a simple cubic lattice

At zero temperature magnetic phases of the quantum spin-1/2 Heisenberg antiferromagnet on a simple cubic lattice with competing first and second neighbor exchanges (J1 and J2) is investigated using the non-linear spin wave theory. We find existence of two phases: a two sublattice Neel phase for small J2 (AF), and a collinear antiferromagnetic phase at large J2 (CAF). We obtain the sublattice magnetizations and ground state energies for the two phases and find that there exists a first order phase transition from the AF-phase to the CAF-phase at the critical transition point, pc = 0.28. Our results for the value of pc are in excellent agreement with results from Monte-Carlo simulations and variational spin wave theory. We also show that the quartic 1/S corrections due spin-wave interactions enhance the sublattice magnetization in both the phases which causes the intermediate paramagnetic phase predicted from linear spin wave theory to disappear.Comment: 19 pages, 4 figures, Fig. 1b modified, Appendix B text modifie

Search for the standard model Higgs boson in the H to ZZ to 2l 2nu channel in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV

A search for the standard model Higgs boson in the H to ZZ to 2l 2nu decay channel, where l = e or mu, in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV is presented. The data were collected at the LHC, with the CMS detector, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 4.6 inverse femtobarns. No significant excess is observed above the background expectation, and upper limits are set on the Higgs boson production cross section. The presence of the standard model Higgs boson with a mass in the 270-440 GeV range is excluded at 95% confidence level.Comment: Submitted to JHE
