    Estudio Psoriafarm Bizkaia: características más relevantes

    Introducción: La psoriasis es una enfermedad crónica que influye mucho en la autoestima y la calidad de vida. La mejor manera de evaluar su impacto es llevar a cabo estudios que recojan la opinión de los propios pacientes. La farmacia es un recurso muy adecuado para realizarlos, pues a ella acuden todo tipo de pacientes independientemente de la gravedad del trastorno y/o del estatus de tratamiento. Objetivos: Conocer las variables sociodemográfi cas, la localización y el tipo de psoriasis, el tiempo de evolución, las comorbilidades,la pertenencia a asociaciones, la relación con el médico y los conocimientos sobre psoriasis. Métodos: Estudio descriptivo utilizando tres cuestionarios: SF-36, Skindex-29 y Psoriafarm. Se presentan los datos preliminares. Resultados: Participaron 47 farmacéuticos de 36 farmacias, que recogieron 200 respuestas válidas (52% mujeres y 48% varones). El 60,5% de los encuestados llevaban más de 10 años diagnosticados, el 78% presentaban afección moderada o leve, y la presentación más frecuente era la vulgar o en placas (53%). El 37% padecía otra enfermedad crónica. El 84% refirió empeorar con el estrés y un 49,5% había sufrido un trastorno emocional en el último año. El 56,5% consideraba que no disponía de información suficiente sobre su enfermedad, y un 58% estaba satisfecho con la atención médica. Conclusiones: Los datos obtenidos en cuanto al tipo de psoriasis concuerdan con los procedentes de otros trabajos realizados en distintos ámbitos. Los resultados muestran la importancia de los factores emocionales en la sintomatología de la psoriasis. Aunque la relación con los médicos recibe una buena calificación, los pacientes demandan más información sobre la enfermedad y los tratamientos, que podría facilitarse desde la farmacia, aunque no existen prácticamente estudios sobre intervenciones en este ámbito

    The Action-sentence Compatibility Effect (ACE) is a well-known demonstration of the role of motor activity in the comprehension of language. Participants are asked to make sensibility judgments on sentences by producing movements toward the body or away from the body. The ACE is the finding that movements are faster when the direction of the movement (e.g., toward) matches the direction of the action in the to-be-judged sentence (e.g., Art gave you the pen describes action toward you). We report on a pre- registered, multi-lab replication of one version of the ACE. The results show that none of the 18 labs involved in the study observed a reliable ACE, and that the meta-analytic estimate of the size of the ACE was essentially zero

    Search for Dark Matter Axions with CAST-CAPP

    The CAST-CAPP axion haloscope, operating at CERN inside the CAST dipole magnet, has searched for axions in the 19.74 μ\mueV to 22.47 μ\mueV mass range. The detection concept follows the Sikivie haloscope principle, where Dark Matter axions convert into photons within a resonator immersed in a magnetic field. The CAST-CAPP resonator is an array of four individual rectangular cavities inserted in a strong dipole magnet, phase-matched to maximize the detection sensitivity. Here we report on the data acquired for 4124 h from 2019 to 2021. Each cavity is equipped with a fast frequency tuning mechanism of 10 MHz/min between 4.774 GHz and 5.434 GHz. In the present work, we exclude axion-photon couplings for virialized galactic axions down to gaγγ=8×1014g_{a{\gamma}{\gamma}} = 8 \times {10^{-14}} GeV1GeV^{-1} at the 90% confidence level.     First -decay spectroscopy of and new -decay branches of

    19 pags., 14 figs., 3 tabs.The  decay of the neutron-rich and was investigated experimentally in order to provide new insights into the nuclear structure of the tin isotopes with magic proton number above the shell. The -delayed -ray spectroscopy measurement was performed at the ISOLDE facility at CERN, where indium isotopes were selectively laser-ionized and on-line mass separated. Three -decay branches of were established, two of which were observed for the first time. Population of neutron-unbound states decaying via rays was identified in the two daughter nuclei of and , at excitation energies exceeding the neutron separation energy by 1 MeV. The -delayed one- and two-neutron emission branching ratios of were determined and compared with theoretical calculations. The -delayed one-neutron decay was observed to be dominant -decay branch of even though the Gamow-Teller resonance is located substantially above the two-neutron separation energy of . Transitions following the  decay of are reported for the first time, including rays tentatively attributed to . In total, six new levels were identified in on the basis of the coincidences observed in the and decays. A transition that might be a candidate for deexciting the missing neutron single-particle state in was observed in both  decays and its assignment is discussed. Experimental level schemes of and are compared with shell-model predictions. Using the fast timing technique, half-lives of the , and levels in were determined.     Modifiable risk factors associated with prediabetes in men and women: A cross-sectional analysis of the cohort study in primary health care on the evolution of patients with prediabetes

    Background: Prediabetes is a high-risk state for diabetes development, but little is known about the factors associated with this state. The aim of the study was to identify modifiable risk factors associated with the presence of prediabetes in men and women. Methods: Cohort Study in Primary Health Care on the Evolution of Patients with Prediabetes (PREDAPS-Study) is a prospective study on a cohort of 1184 subjects with prediabetes and another cohort of 838 subjects without glucose metabolism disorders. It is being conducted by 125 general practitioners in Spain. Data for this analysis were collected during the baseline stage in 2012. The modifiable risk factors included were: smoking habit, alcohol consumption, low physical activity, inadequate diet, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and obesity. To assess independent association between each factor and prediabetes, odds ratios (ORs) were estimated using logistic regression models. Results: Abdominal obesity, low plasma levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-cholesterol), and hypertension were independently associated with the presence of prediabetes in both men and women. After adjusting for all factors, the respective ORs (95% Confidence Intervals) were 1.98 (1.41-2.79), 1.88 (1.23-2.88) and 1.86 (1.39-2.51) for men, and 1.89 (1.36-2.62), 1.58 (1.12-2.23) and 1.44 (1.07-1.92) for women. Also, general obesity was a risk factor in both sexes but did not reach statistical significance among men, after adjusting for all factors. Risky alcohol consumption was a risk factor for prediabetes in men, OR 1.49 (1.00-2.24). Conclusions: Obesity, low HDL-cholesterol levels, and hypertension were modifiable risk factors independently related to the presence of prediabetes in both sexes. The magnitudes of the associations were stronger for men than women. Abdominal obesity in both men and women displayed the strongest association with prediabetes. The findings suggest that there are some differences between men and women, which should be taken into account when implementing specific recommendations to prevent or delay the onset of diabetes in adult population

    Search for supersymmetry in events with b-tagged jets and missing transverse momentum in pp collisions at √s = 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector

    A search for the supersymmetric partners of the Standard Model bottom and top quarks is presented. The search uses 36.1 fb−1 of pp collision data at √s = 13 TeV collected by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. Direct production of pairs of bottom and top squarks (b˜1 and t˜1) is searched for in final states with b-tagged jets and missing transverse momentum. Distinctive selections are defined with either no charged leptons (electrons or muons) in the final state, or one charged lepton. The zero-lepton selection targets models in which the b˜1 is the lightest squark and decays via b˜1 → bχ˜01 , where ˜χ01 is the lightest neutralino. The one-lepton final state targets models where bottom or top squarks are produced and can decay into multiple channels, b˜1 → bχ˜01 and b˜1 → tχ˜±1, or t˜1 → tχ˜01 and t˜1→ bχ˜±1, where ˜χ±1 is the lightest chargino and the mass difference mχ˜±1 − mχ˜01 is set to 1 GeV. No excess above the expected Standard Model background is observed. Exclusion limits at 95% confidence level on the mass of third-generation squarks are derived in various supersymmetry-inspired simplified models

    Search for supersymmetry in final states with two same-sign or three leptons and jets using 36 fb<sup>−1</sup> of √s=13 TeV pp collision data with the ATLAS detector

    A search for strongly produced supersymmetric particles using signatures involving multiple energetic jets and either two isolated same-sign leptons (e or μ), or at least three isolated leptons, is presented. The analysis relies on the identification of b-jets and high missing transverse momentum to achieve good sensitivity. A data sample of proton-proton collisions at s=13 TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider in 2015 and 2016, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb −1 , is used for the search. No significant excess over the Standard Model prediction is observed. The results are interpreted in several simplified supersymmetric models featuring R-parity conservation or R-parity violation, extending the exclusion limits from previous searches. In models considering gluino pair production, gluino masses are excluded up to 1.87 TeV at 95% confidence level. When bottom squarks are pair-produced and decay to a chargino and a top quark, models with bottom squark masses below 700 GeV and light neutralinos are excluded at 95% confidence level. In addition, model-independent limits are set on a possible contribution of new phenomena to the signal region yields.[Figure not available: see fulltext.]
