Treballs Finals del Grau d'Estudis Anglesos, Facultat de Filologia, Universitat de Barcelona, Curs: 2019-2020, Tutor: Roger Gilabert Guerrero[eng] In second language teaching the main focus has not always been communication but the teaching of formal aspects of language such as grammatical structures and vocabulary. The learning of such parts of a language is of course important but communication is key when talking about SLL and SLA. One of the approaches thaL2 Pragmatics Teaching: The Impact of Pedagogic Tasks on the Acquisition of L2 Pragmatic Competencet has been claimed to potentially promote second language pragmatics learning in instructional settings is Focus on Form (FonF) through TBLT and TSLT. Therefore, this essay aims to underline the relevance of L2 pragmatics and to consider the effectiveness of using tasks to teach L2 pragmatics. To do so, this paper will draw from research studies on the acquisition of L2 pragmatics and will move from more theoretical to more practical aspects to showcase the advantages that L2 learners would gain from being taught through tasks.[cat] A l’hora d’ensenyar una segona llengua, sempre ha adquirit més importància l’ensenyament dels aspectes formals d’una llengua, com poden ser les estructures gramaticals i el vocabulari, que no pas la comunicació.

Background and objectives: The increase in vaccine hesitancy threatens advances in public health and causes vaccine-preventable diseases outbreaks in infra-vaccinated communities. This study aims to determine and compare the perception and attitudes towards vaccination among pharmacy users, pharmacy students and community pharmacists. Methods: A cross-sectional observational study was conducted during March and April 2020, surveying perceptions and attitudes towards vaccination in Barcelona (Spain). Statistical analysis was assessed by chi2 test and multivariate regression. Statistical significance when P < .05. The association measure of Odds Ratio and its 95% confidence interval (CI) were estimated. Results: A high percentage of hesitant opinions (44%) among pharmacy users was observed, despite high vaccine coverage (80%). Some showed mistrust in the health system (23.3%) and a statistically significant association was found between previous negative experiences with vaccination and hesitant attitudes (OR: 3.04; 95%CI 1.16 to 7.93; P = .02). Of all surveyed pharmacy users, those over 44 years old showed a stronger hesitant attitude towards vaccines (OR: 2.63; 95%CI 1.11 to 6.19; P = .03), and 40% undervalued influenza vaccine, including risk groups. Both pharmacy students and community pharmacists had a positive attitude towards vaccination. While only 16% of surveyed pharmacists vaccinated against influenza during the 2019/2020 influenza seasonal campaign, most of them considered their vaccination important to the profession (61%). Conclusions: Active promotion and education of the population and reliable communication on vaccines are some of the needs that community pharmacists can solve, claiming their role as highly qualified health professionals in daily contact with the population

6 páginas, 2 figuras et al..[EN] Tillus ibericus sp. nov. is described from the Comunidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain) and it is compared to the western Palaearctic species of the genus Tillus Olivier, 1790. Tillus ibericus is easily distinguished from all other species of the genus by the structure of the elytral sculpture and its characteristic coloration. This new species shares a general habitus and characters from the antennae, and general body stucture with T. flabellicornis Fairmaire, 1866, a species from northern Africa. All preexisting records of T. flabellicornis in the Iberian Peninsula correspond to T. ibericus.[ES]Se describe Tillus ibericus sp. nov. de la Comunidad Autónoma de Madrid (España) y se compara con las otras especies del género Tillus Olivier, 1790 de la región Paleártica occidental. Effect of pH and nanoclay content on the morphology and physicochemicalproperties of soy protein/montmorillonite nanocomposite obtained byextrusion

    Get PDF
The present work attempts to clarify the influence of montmorillonite nanoclay content and pH on the me-chanical properties of extruded soy protein nanocomposites. The mechanical behaviour is dominated by theformation of positive synergies between protein and nanoclay above a nanoclay concentration threshold. Moreover, the presence of nanoclay can improve water uptake. The pH also exerts a strong influence on me-chanical and water absorption properties, although montmorillonite tend to reduce this effect.Eventually, this study put forward the feasibility of using a combination of soy protein and montmorillonite toobtain potentially attractive biodegradable nanocomposite materials, processed by means of a simple and easilyscalable twin-screw extruder.Junta de Andalucía (project TEP-6134)Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad (CTQ2015-71164-P

Contrasting human perceptions of and attitudes towards two threatened small carnivores, Lycalopex fulvipes and Leopardus guigna, in rural communities adjacent to protected areas in Chile

Indexación: Scopus. The interaction between humans and small carnivores is a phenomenon especially frequent in rural fringes, as is the case of communities surrounding natural areas. In Chile, two species of threatened carnivores, the Darwin's Fox and the Guigna, have increased their contact with humans due to human-induced changes in their habitat. The objective of this study was to characterize the interactions of these species with humans by assessing human perceptions and attitudes toward them, and to assess livestock and poultry ownership and management practices in local communities to evaluate their possible roles in the phenomenon. We conducted semi-structured interviews in rural communities adjacent to natural protected areas of two different regions in southern Chile. We found that people have a more positive perception of Darwin's Foxes than Guignas, but both species are considered damaging due to poultry attacks. Livestock and poultry management was generally deficient. Improvements in animal management and education programs could lead to a significant decrease in negative interactions.

This study traces the effect of water supply on output, employment and labor income in the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon. For this purpose, an input-output model with emphasis on the water sector is constructed. Firstly, water is isolated from electricity and gas as these utilities are recorded as a single sector. Secondly, water is disaggregated into four categories: drinking water, aquifers, sewage and treated wastewater. The results suggest that the water sector, particularly the provision of drinking water, has significant knock-on effects on the rest of the economy, which currently are sub estimated due to the lack of disaggregation
