Northeastern Kansas is characterized by dissected till plains. Glacial sediments overlie the older Paleozoic sedimentary rocks. Outcropping rocks of Paleozoic age include the Pennsylvanian and Permian rocks extensively studied in other reports. This report includes the twelve northeastern Kansas Counties (Atchison, Brown, Doniphan, Douglas, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Leavenworth, Nemaha, Shawnee, Wabaunsee, and Wyandotte) that were glaciated during Pleistocene time. The study area was entirely glaciated during pre-Illinoian (classical Kansas and Nebraskan) time, except for its southern fringe. The deposits exposed in the area include glacial drift (till, outwash, lake deposits), loess, and alluvium. Pregacial drainage ways became buried valleys after glaciation, filled by deposits ranging from clayey sediments to sand and gravel. The discussion of recent changes in the pre-Illinoian glacial stratigraphy recognizes that several tills indicate that more than the traditional two glacial advances occurred in Kansas and Nebraska. Age dating shows that the well-known Pearlette Ash marker bed for the top of the Kansan represents deposits of three distinct ages, making it useless as a marker bed. Other convincing evidence indicates that the classical terms Nebraskan, Kansas should be dropped from glacial stratigraphy

بررسی همبستگی سندرم متابوليک با عوامل عفونی (H. pylori, C. pneumonia, Hrepes Simplex Virus, Cytomegalovirus) بر اساس پروژه قلب سالم خليج فارس

مينه: تجمع چندين اختلال غير متابوليک و متابوليک، شامل اختلال در متابوليسم گلوکز، تری گليسريد بالا، HDL کلسترول پايين، چاقی شکمی و فشار خون بالا بعنوان سندرم متابوليک توصيف شده است. در کنار سندرم متابوليک که شامل عوامل خطر ساز کلاسيک عروق کرونر است، در مورد نقش ويروس هايی چون HSV-1 ، CMV و عوامل عفونی باکتريال مانند هليکوباکتر پيلوری و کلاميديا پنومونيه در گسترش پديده آترواسکلروز و بيماريهای قلبی-عروقی، شواهد قانع کننده ای مطرح می باشد. مواد و روشها: به منظور يافت همبستگی سندرم متابوليک با عوامل عفونی، 1791 نفر (8/50 درصد زن و 2/49 درصد مرد) بالای 25 سال، طی يک نمونه گيری تصادفی خوشه ای چند مرحله ای از شهر های بوشهر، گناوه و ديلم در شمال خليج فارس در استان بوشهر، بر اساس تعريف NCEP، ATPIII از لحاظ سندرم متابوليک و انجام سرولوژی آنتی بادی های اختصاصی عليه عوامل عفونی چهارگانه فوق الذکر به روش اليزا مورد بررسی قرار گرفتند. يافته ها: شيوع سندرم متابوليک در مردان 6/54 در صد و در زنان 9/44 درصد بود. بر اساس آناليز رگرسيون لجستيک چند گانه ، سندرم متابوليک در زنان با HSV (003/0 = P و 01/2=OR)، هليکوباکتر پيلوری (004/0P= و 47/1OR=) و کلاميدياپنومونيه (0001/0P= و 69/1OR=) و سندرم متابوليک در مردان با هليکوباکتر پيلوری (001/0P= و 62/1OR=)، کلاميدياپنومونيه (0001/0P= و 77/1OR=) و CMV (007/0P= و 99/1OR=) همبستگی از خود نشان داد. نتيجه: بنابراين سندرم متابوليک در مقيايس اپيدميک در منطقه شمال خليج فارس وجود دارد و اين سندرم با کلاميديا پنومونيه، هليکوباکتر پيلوری، CMV و HSV-1 همبستگی از خود نشان می دهد. واژه‌های کلیدی: سندرم متابوليک، سيتومگالو ويروس، کلاميديا پنومونيه، هرپس سيمپلکس، هليکوباکترپيلوری
