Relativistic minimal surfaces
We find classical solutions to the equations of motion of an M-dimensional surface moving in a higher-dimensional embedding space-time for arbitrary M. In the case of closed membranes, solutions exist for any topological type (genus)

Ternary Hom-Nambu-Lie algebras induced by Hom-Lie algebras
The purpose of this paper is to investigate ternary multiplications
constructed from a binary multiplication, linear twisting maps and a trace
function. We provide a construction of ternary Hom-Nambu and Hom-Nambu-Lie
algebras starting from a binary multiplication of a Hom-Lie algebra and a trace
function satisfying certain compatibility conditions involving twisting maps.
We show that mutual position of kernels of twisting maps and the trace play
important role in this context, and provide examples of Hom-Nambu-Lie algebras
obtained using this construction

Correlated Microscale Isotope and Scanning Transmission X-Ray Analyses of Isotopically Anomalous Organic Matter from the CR2 Chondrite EET 92042
We discuss correlated examinations of organic matter from the CR2 chondrite EET 92042, using SIMS, STXM and other methods. We found a large, isotopically highly anomalous region of probable presolar origin that is C- and 13C-poor and 15N-rich
Noncommutative Riemann Surfaces by Embeddings in R^3
We introduce C-Algebras of compact Riemann surfaces as non-commutative analogues of the Poisson algebra of smooth functions on . Representations of these algebras give rise to sequences of matrix-algebras for which matrix-commutators converge to Poisson-brackets as N → ∞. For a particular class of surfaces, interpolating between spheres and tori, we completely characterize (even for the intermediate singular surface) all finite dimensional representations of the corresponding C-algebras
Why Matrix theory works for oddly shaped membranes
We give a simple proof of why there is a Matrix theory approximation for a
membrane shaped like an arbitrary Riemann surface. As corollaries, we show that
noncompact membranes cannot be approximated by matrices and that the Poisson
algebra on any compact phase space is U(infinity). The matrix approximation
does not appear to work properly in theories such as IIB string theory or
bosonic membrane theory where there is no conserved 3-form charge to which the
membranes couple.Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures, revtex; references adde
Topological and functional aspects of the proton conductor, F, of the Escherichia coli ATP-synthase
The isolated H conductor, F , of the Escherichia co1i ATP-synthase consists of three subunits, a, b, and c. H -permeable liposomes can be reconstit~ted with F and lipids; addition of F-ATPase reconstitutes a functional ATP-synthase. Mutants with altered or misslng F subunits are defective in H conduction. Thus, all three subunits are necessary for the expression of H conduction. The subunits a and b contain binding sites for F• Computer calculations, cross-links, membrane-permeating photo-reactive labels, and proteases were used to develop tentative structural models for the individual F subunits

Were Presolar Grains Destroyed by the Nebular Process Responsible for the Volatile Element Fractionation?
We present SiC abundances from a number of CM and CR chondrites using NanoSIMS raster ion imaging of acid residues. We find higher SiC abundances for CRs than previously estimated based on noble gases
