Wintertime (December through March) polar-front jet stream positions in the North Pacific will be presented for six moderate-to-very-strong El Niño events - three before the winter of 1975-76 (1965-66, 1968-69, 1972-73) and three after (1982-83, 1986-87, 1991-92)

The employment of S.A. Dushanins multifactorial express diagnostics for predicting response to physical stress

The results of application of method of multifunction express diagnostics are presented. The estimation of the vegetovascular regulation is given. Possibilities are considered for prognostication of reaction of studying young people on the physical loading. Some effects of Earth's surface on winter jet stream positions in the Northern Hemisphere and rainfall patterns in northern and central California

EXTRACT (SEE PDF FOR FULL ABSTRACT): This report shows that the mean wintertime polar-front jet stream structure consists of three long waves. Prominent ridges in the jet stream flow occur near the longitudes of India, eastern Pacific/west coast of North America, and eastern Atlantic/British Isles; prominent troughs occur near the longitudes of the Middle East, western Pacific, and western Atlantic/east coast of North America. ... One of the climatological ridges occurs along the west coast of North America ... just off the central Oregon coast. The position of the jet stream at this location appears to be the main reason most Pacific storms pass to the north of California. Sustained rainfall in northern and central California occurs only when the storm track is displaced southward of this climatological position

The influence of social capital on the level of sustainable development on the example of Sumy region

Social capital can be considered as an important background for providing social aspects of sustainable development. High level of social capital ensures the facilitation of initiatives of community members and authorities in prioritization and solution of local level problems, including ecological ones. Using regression analysis, we are planning to investigate an interaction between social capital and indicators of sustainable development of a community. Our initial hypothesis is that a high level of social capital might have positive effect on sustainable development of the community. Feature of the reaction to physical exertion of the students, engaged in basketball and judo

This article describes the results of multifactor method of express-diagnostics S. Dushanin and evaluation vegetovascular regulation to predict the reaction of students involved in basketball and judo to physical activity. It is shown that the reaction of basketball has the same type that suits the sport. In judo identified two opposing tendencies of functional changes. Study shows promise to control the training process, the ratio of different types of metabolism
