Towards an Energy Assessment on an Urban Scale for Retrofitting the Housing Stock in Mediterranean Cities
According to European Directive 2012/27/EU energy retrofitting of the current housing stock is being promoted.
However, few studies have been carried out characterizing housing stock energy performance in order to incorporate
energy retrofitting in cities in the southern Mediterranean area. The aim of this paper is to propose an energy
assessment methodology on urban scale and to apply it to the southern Spanish province of Cadiz. This is followed
by the generation of a predictive model for energy assessment in Mediterranean cities which could be further
developed and used in the future to estimate overall energy efficiency on an urban scale
Memetic Pareto Evolutionary Artificial Neural Networks for the determination of growth limits of Listeria Monocytogenes
The main objective of this work is to automatically
design neural network models with sigmoidal basis
units for classification tasks, so that classifiers are
obtained in the most balanced way possible in terms of
CCR and Sensitivity (given by the lowest percentage of
examples correctly predicted to belong to each class).
We present a Memetic Pareto Evolutionary NSGA2
(MPENSGA2) approach based on the Pareto-NSGAII
evolution (PNSGAII) algorithm. We propose to
augmente it with a local search using the improved
Rprop—IRprop algorithm for the prediction of
growth/no growth of L. monocytogenes as a function of
the storage temperature, pH, citric (CA) and ascorbic
acid (AA). The results obtained show that the
generalization ability can be more efficiently improved
within a framework that is multi-objective instead of a
within a single-objective one
A clinical case is described of a two year oid male Staffordshire Bull Terrier who was sent with a history of respiratory insufficiency. After a physical examination a pleural effusion was found preceeding various diagnostics such as thoracocentesis, bacteriological culture, thoracic radiographs and an ultrasound were issued to establish the cause. The surgical approach (medium esternotomy) and the lobectomy the patient suffered from are described. The surgical sample was sent to be analised histopatholoqícally, confirming the pulmonary primary bronchiolar-alvcolar carcinoma diagnostic
Search for the Higgs boson decays H → ee and H → eμ in pp collisions at √s = 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector
Artículo escrito por un elevado número de autores, sólo se referencian el que aparece en primer lugar, el nombre del grupo de colaboración, si le hubiera, y los autores pertenecientes a la UAMSearches for the Higgs boson decays H→eeand H→eμare performed using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb−1collected with the ATLAS detector in ppcollisions at √s=13 TeV at the LHC. No significant signals are observed, in agreement with the Standard Model expectation. For a Higgs boson mass of 125 GeV, the observed (expected) upper limit at the 95% confidence level on the branching fraction β(H→ee)is 3.6 ×10−4(3.5 ×10−4) and on β(H→eμ)is 6.2 ×10−5(5.9 ×10−5). These results represent improvements by factors of about five and six on the previous best limits on β(H→ee)and β(H→eμ)respectivelyWe acknowledge the support of ANPCyT, Argentina; YerPhI, Armenia; ARC, Australia; BMWFW and FWF, Austria; ANAS, Azerbaijan; SSTC, Belarus; CNPq and FAPESP, Brazil; NSERC, NRC and CFI, Canada; CERN; CONICYT, Chile; CAS, MOST and NSFC, China; COLCIENCIAS, Colombia; MSMT CR, MPO CR and VSC CR, Czech Republic; DNRF and DNSRC, Denmark; IN2P3-CNRS, CEA-DRF/IRFU, France; SRNSFG, Georgia; BMBF, HGF, and MPG, Germany; GSRT, Greece; RGC, Hong Kong SAR, China; ISF and Benoziyo Center, Israel; INFN, Italy; MEXT and JSPS, Japan; CNRST, Morocco; NWO, Netherlands; RCN, Norway; MNiSW and NCN, Poland; FCT, Portugal; MNE/IFA, Romania; MES of Russia and NRC KI, Russian Federation; JINR; MESTD, Serbia; MSSR, Slovakia; ARRS and MIZŠ, Slovenia; DST/NRF, South Africa; MINECO, Spain; SRC and Wallenberg Foundation, Sweden; SERI, SNSF and Cantons of Bern and Geneva, Switzerland; MOST, Taiwan; TAEK, Turkey; STFC, United Kingdom; DOE and NSF, United States of America. A guided data projection technique for classi cation of sovereign ratings: the case of European Union 27
Sovereign rating has had an increasing importance since the beginning of the
nancial crisis. However, credit rating agencies opacity has been criticised by
several authors highlighting the suitability of designing more objective alternative
methods. This paper tackles the sovereign credit rating classi cation
problem within an ordinal classi cation perspective by employing a pairwise
class distances projection to build a classi cation model based on standard regression
techniques. In this work the -SVR is selected as the regressor tool.
The quality of the projection is validated through the classi cation results obtained
for four performance metrics when applied to Standard & Poors, Moody's
and Fitch sovereign rating data of U27 countries during the period 2007-2010.
This validated projection is later used for ranking visualization which might be
suitable to build a decision support syste
