    Improving Student’s Emotional Intelligence By Mathematics Learning

    This paper aims to provide a description of realistic mathematics education in improving emotional intelligence. Mathematics is a tool that can be developed to foster thinking (reasoning) and attitudes (emotions) (Nelissen, 2007). Emotional intelligence is the ability to feel, understand and effectively apply the power and emotional sensitivity as an energy source and as a motivator. The models that emerged from students' mathematical activity can promote interaction in class, thus leading to the level of mathematical thinking and higher learning meaningful democracy. Thus, learning mathematics is a realistic learning actively involves students both physically and mentally (student centered learning), and be democratic, so as to have a better profile in the critical thinking skills and emotional intelligence of students.     PENGEMBANGAN BAHAN AJAR BERBASIS PENDEKATAN MATEMATIKA REALISTIK UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN PENALARAN MATEMATIS SISWA SMA DHARMAWANGSA MEDAN

    This study aims to obtain teaching materials based on a valid, practical, and effective realistic mathematical approach, so as to improve students' mathematical reasoning abilities on the material of a three-variable linear equation system. The research instruments used were questionnaire validation sheets, lesson plans validation sheets, teaching material validation sheets, test instrument validation sheets, mathematical reasoning ability tests, and teacher and student response questionnaires to teaching materials. After all instruments, lesson plans, and teaching materials were declared valid by the validator, then readability tests and field trials were carried out. The results showed that: (1) the teaching materials based on the realistic mathematical approach developed had met the criteria of validity based on the validator's assessment with the average validity of the teaching materials for the material being 3.13 and 3.29 for media with a very feasible category; (2) the teaching materials based on the realistic mathematical approach that have been developed have met the practicality criteria through: a) the results of the questionnaire student responses to teaching materials show the percentage of practicality of 81.19% with a very practical category, b) the results of the questionnaire responses of teachers to teaching materials show the percentage of practicality 88.75% with very practical category; (3) The teaching materials based on the realistic mathematics approach developed meet the effective criteria with: a) classical student learning mastery of 88%, b) more than 65% of students have achieved 75% of learning objectives for each indicator, c) increased mathematical reasoning ability students after using teaching materials seen through the average score of students increased from 50 in the pretest to 85.33 in the posttest and the results of the N-Gain analysis which showed students' mathematical problem solving abilities increased by 0.712, meaning in the high category

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan: validitas, kepraktisan dan efektifitas perangkat Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1). Menemukan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa melalui pengembangan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis model Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving pada materi kubus dan balok. 2) Menemukan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD)  berbasis model Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving yang valid pada materi kubus dan balok. 3) Menemukan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis model Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving yang praktis pada materi kubus dan balok. 4) Menemukan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik ( LKPD)  berbasis model Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving yang efektif pada materi kubus dan balok. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SD Negeri 067248 Medan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD Negeri 067248 Medan Tahun Ajaran 2022/2023 yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan model Thiagarajan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa menggunakan bahan ajar berbasis TAPPS yang telah dikembangkan dilihat dari nilai N- Gain pada uji coba I sebesar sebesar 0,44 meningkat pada uji coba II menjadi 0,56. ; 2) LKPD berdasarkan pembelajaran berbasis TAPPS untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa yang dikembangkan sudah memenuhi kriteria valid. 3) Bahan ajar berbasis TAPPS yang dikembangkan telah memenuhi kriteria paraktis.  4) LKPD berbasis Think Aloud Pair Problem Solving telah memenuhi kriteria efekti

    ANALISIS KESULITAN BELAJAR MATEMATIKA SISWA MELALUI PENDEKATAN REALISTIK

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan hasil belajar matematika siswa melalui pembelajaran pendekatan realistik dengan pembelajaran biasa, serta untuk mengetahui kesalahan yang dominan dilakukan oleh siswa melalui pendekatan realistik. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas VII MTs. Swasta Islamiyah Tanjung Kasau. Metode yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen. Sampel yang digunakan 22 siswa kelas VII-B dan kelas VII-A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan sebagai tes hasil belajar matematika adalah 5 soal berbentuk uraian. Dari hasil uji-t diperoleh nilai t hitung > t tabel (2,190 > 2,018) ,maka H0 ditolak. Sehingga hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VII di MTs. Swasta Islamiyah Tanjung Kasau melalui pembelajaran pendekatan realistik lebih tinggi dibanding pembelajaran biasa. Dari hasil persentase rata-rata pada kategori kesulitan, didapat bahwa pada kelas eksperimen persentase rata-rata kategori kesulitan konseptual sebesar 21%, pada kategori kesulitan prosedural sebesar 30% dan kesulitan teknik sebesar 34%.     This quasi-experimental research to determine the effect of the problem learning model on the mathematical communication abilities of class VIII of MTs Al-Ittihadiyah Percut. Mathematical communication ability is one of the basic mathematical abilities that every student should have. Through communication, there is a process of conveying ideas or ideas verbally or in writing so as to create an understanding. The population of this study were all class VIII students of MTs Al-Ittihadiyah Percut for the 2022/2023 academic year. The sample of this study were all students of class VIII MTs Al-Ittihadiyah there were class VIII-1 as the control class of 24 students and class VIII-2 as the experimental class of 26 students taken by saturated sampling technique. This research used the Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Data analysis uses simple linear regression and Independent Sample T-Test. Based on the results of the research it was concluded that the effect of the problem based learning model was better than the normal learning model on students' mathematical communication abilities and the level of ability of students who were given the problem based learning model was better than students who were given the ordinary learning model

    This study aims to analyze the improvement of students' descriptive text writing skills using contextual model-based e-learning teaching materials, find contextual model-based e-learning teaching materials that are practical in improving students' descriptive text writing skills, and find contextual model-based e-learning teaching materials that effective for improving the descriptive text of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Tarutung's. The research population was all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Tarutung. The sample is set at 60 students. The research instrument consisted of expert assessment sheets and student learning outcomes tests. The analysis technique uses expert validation and calculates Gain and N-gain with student test results. The results showed that there was an increase in the ability to write descriptive texts of students using e-learning teaching materials based on contextual models developed in class VII of SMPN 3 Tarutung as evidenced by the average acquisition of 38.67 pretest results increasing to 85.42. E-learning teaching materials based on contextual models were developed practically in improving students' description writing skills in class VII SMP Negeri 3 Tarutung, North Tapanuli Regency. The e-learning teaching materials based on the contextual model that were developed were effectively used to improve students' description writing skills in grade VII SMP Negeri 3 Tarutung, North Tapanuli Regency.     PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN MATEMATIKA REALISTIK UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS MATEMATIS SISWA KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 2 SUMBUL

    Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa dengan menerapkan pendekatan matematika realistik di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sumbul tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-1 SMP Negeri 2 Sumbul yang berjumlah 32 orang. Teknik Pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi guru dan siswa, tes kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari 2 siklus, masing-masing siklus terdiri dari 2 kali pertemuan. Sebelum melakukan tindakan, terlebih dahulu diberikan tes awal dan disetiap akhir siklus diberikan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa. Hasil tes kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa mengalami peningkatan dari tes awal, siklus I, dan siklus II. Pada tes awal secara klasikal diperoleh 6 siswa (18,75%) tuntas dan rata-rata kemampuan tes awal ialah 46,29 dengan tingkat kemampuan kategori tidak kritis. Pada tes siklus I mengalami peningkatan secara klasikal diperoleh 20 siswa (62,5%) tuntas dan rata-rata kemampuan diperoleh 67,87 dengan tingkat kemampuan kategori kurang kritis. Kemudian pada tes siklus II mengalami peningkatan pula secara klasikal diperoleh 28 siswa (87,5%) tuntas dan rata-rata kemampuan diperoleh 85,25 dengan tingkat kemampuan kategori kritis. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan matematika realistik dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sumbul

    This study aims to describe the development of learning tools based on valid, practical realistic mathematics approaches, and to find effective tools used to improve mathematical reasoning abilities and self-efficacy. Describes increasing students' mathematical reasoning abilities through the development of learning tools with a realistic mathematical approach, and describes increasing students' self-efficacy through developing learning tools with realistic mathematical approaches in class VII SMP Negeri 3 Muara Siatas Barita. This research includes development research (Development Research). In this study, the Thiagarajan learning device development model was used. The subjects of this study were students of class VII-B of SMP Negeri 3 Muara Siatas Barita for the academic year 2021/2022 as many as 32 students. As objects in this research are learning tools, namely Learning Implementation Plan (RPP), Teacher's Book (BG), Student's Book (BS), Student's Mathematical Self Efficacy Questionnaire and Student's Reasoning Ability Test. The results of the study, namely learning tools based on Realistic Mathematics Approach (PM) were valid to be used to improve mathematical reasoning abilities and self-efficacy of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Muara Siatas Barita. There was an increase in students' mathematical reasoning abilities through the development of learning tools that were developed based on a realistic mathematical approach in class VII SMP Negeri 3 Muara Siatas Barita.
