The national landmarks in Washington, D.C., specifically the Lincoln Memorial and the Capitol Building, serve a specific purpose of informing visitors on not only the basic functions they serve, but also to create a metaphysical space in order to create a citizen machine, a citizen machine, intended to create model citizens, who are learned in areas of civic matters that the designers of Washington, D.C., and important.
