Design principles for Bernal spirals and helices with tunable pitch
Using the framework of potential energy landscape theory, we describe two in
silico designs for self-assembling helical colloidal superstructures based upon
dipolar dumbbells and Janus-type building blocks, respectively. Helical
superstructures with controllable pitch length are obtained using external
magnetic field driven assembly of asymmetric dumbbells involving screened
electrostatic as well as magnetic dipolar interactions. The pitch of the helix
is tuned by modulating the Debye screening length over an experimentally
accessible range. The second design is based on building blocks composed of
rigidly linked spheres with short-range anisotropic interactions, which are
predicted to self-assemble into Bernal spirals. These spirals are quite
flexible, and longer helices undergo rearrangements via cooperative, hinge-like
moves, in agreement with experiment
Pengaruh Fungi Mikoriza Arbuskula Indigen Terhadap Kerapatan Gulma, Pertumbuhan dan Produksi Jagung Manis (Zea mays Saccharata (Sturt.) Bailey)
This study aims to determine the effect of local arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) on weed density, growth and yield of sweet corn in marginal soils. This study used a randomized block design with local AMF propagules which consisted of 4 levels: 0 g/planting hole or control (A0), 15 g/planting hole (A1), 30 g/planting hole (A2) and 45 g/planting hole (A3). The research parameters observed were: weed density, plant height, stem diameter, crop yield, and the percentage of AMF infection in the roots of corn plants. The results showed that the highest weed dominance value at the age of 14 DAP was Cyperus rotundus as 36.8% in treatment of AMF 45 g/planting hole (A3), age 56 DAP the highest weed dominance value was Hyptis capitata as 47.1% in the treatment of AMF 30 g/planting hole. The best plant height and stem diameter were found in the treatment of AMF 45 g/planting holes (A3) at 56 DAP, the average plant height reached 234.05 cm and the average stem diameter reached 3.72 cm. Increased production of corn plants that were given local AMF ranged from 2.70 to 3.10 tons ha-1 or an average increase in overall corn crop production of 2.86 tons ha-1. The average percentage of mycorrhiza fungi infections in the highest roots of corn plants in the treatment of AMF 45 g/planting hole (A3) as 94%.  Key words: Arbuscular mycorrhiza fungi; vesicles; hypha; maize; ultisol
Representasi Kampanye Politik Dalam Game (Analisis Semiotik Dalam Game Jokowi Go! Dan Game Prabowo the Asian Tiger)
This study aims to determine how the representation of political campaigns in the 2014 elections in the game Jokowi Go! and Prabowo the Asian Tiger. The theory is used to build this research is related to the theory of political communication political campaign message implicit in the second game. then the representation theory to explain the construction of the meaning of a symbol. In addition, the study of political PR is used as a media channel to communicate interpretations political issues specifically, in an effort gathering public support, and the theory of communication and information technology, especially in this game. To answer the research questions, the researcher uses semiotic method proposed by Roland Barthes with the concept of connotation, denotation, and myths to analyze the second game. The results of this study indicate that the game Jokowi Go! There are many political campaign messages conveyed premises represent the community in different ways, while the game Prabowo The Asian Tiger, it can be said that the political campaign messages contained in it is minimal. In the game Prabowo The Asian Tiger even invisible characters that represent the people of Indonesia, as well as the program's mission and vision owned by Mr. Prabow
Dynamic model of gene regulation for the lac operon
Gene regulatory network is a collection of DNA which interact with each other and with other matter in the cell. The lac operon is an example of a relatively simple genetic network and is one of the best-studied structures in the Escherichia coli bacteria. In this work we consider a deterministic model of the lac operon with a noise term, representing the stochastic nature of the regulation. The model is written in terms of a system of simultaneous first order differential equations with delays. We investigate an analytical and numerical solution and analyse the range of values for the parameters corresponding to a stable solution
Analisis Pengaruh Pergerakan Bursa Internasional Terhadap Pergerakan Bursa Indonesia
The purpose of this study was to determine and obtain empirical evidence on whether there is influence and reciprocal relationships on the movement of International exchanges (Dow Jones, FTSE, Nikkei, Straits Times and Hang Seng), economic conditions, and the relationship between the state of the market movements Indonesia (JSX and IDX). Method of multiple linear regressions with Eviews 5.1 program used in this study to determine the effect of the variables mentioned above. The sample in this study includes daily data for the JSX ongoing since January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2008, and taken to IDX data starting from January 1, 2009 through June 30, 2009. Results of this study are contained influences of the International exchanges separately. No effect occurs when tested simultaneously. JSX influenced by outside markets, but otherwise IDX positively affect International markets. IDX was due to the influence of the shifting influence of the American economy, which affected Subprime Mortgage crisis and the market is already pretty saturated, to Asia which is devoted to research in Indonesia, which is not affected by the Subprime Mortgage and developing countries (developing countries) that could affect other markets Subprime Mortgage crisis affected. Conclusion that there was a shift in which the effect of Indonesia\u27s market affect other markets in the same region even European markets (FTSE) and the U.S. (Dow Jones) due to the improvement in the economic situation of Indonesia that resilience to the global crisis
Determinants of Capital Structure Across Industries at Jakarta Stock Exchange
There are several objectives to be accomplished in this study. The main purpose of this research is to determine the nature of capital structure across non-finance industries in Indonesia, whether they prefer to use debt or equity as their source of financing. Subsequently, factors that influenced the capital structure of a company are then identified. In this study, the company's profitability, size, and dividend payout are considered as those factors that have relationship with leverage. Finally, this research also conducted to examine whether a company's capital structure decision affects its growth of shares price. In doing so, multiple regression analysis is used in order to determine whether there is relationship between variables tested. The sample of analysis includes 230 companies listed in Jakarta Stock Exchange from all industries, except finance, in 2006. The findings of this research confirm that, first of all, capital structure varies across industries. Each industry would have different decisions regarding its optimal capital structure, depends on several factors. This leads to the second findings, in which it proves that there is negative significant relationship between profitability and leverage, positive significant relationship between company's size and leverage, and negative relationship between dividend payout and leverage. Finally, this research also verifies that there is no relationship between leverage and company's growth of shares price, which means that the growth of shares price is not influenced by the company's capital structure decision. Capital structure decision plays an important role in maximizing the firm's value. By having the most optimal capital structure, firms might be able to push its cost to the minimum point, which then assist them in dealing with the competitive environment. Consequently, it is important to determine the factors that influence the capital structure of companies
Group 2 innate lymphocytes at the interface between innate and adaptive immunity.
Group 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2) are innate immune cells that respond rapidly to their environment through soluble inflammatory mediators and cell-to-cell interactions. As tissue-resident sentinels, ILC2 help orchestrate localized type 2 immune responses. These ILC2-driven type 2 responses are now recognized in diverse immune processes, different anatomical locations, and homeostatic or pathological settings. ILC2-derived cytokines and cell surface signaling molecules function as key regulators of innate and adaptive immunity. Conversely, ILC2 are governed by their environment. As such, ILC2 form an important nexus of the immune system and may present an attractive target for immune modulation in disease
