Information theoretical properties of Tsallis entropies

A chain rule and a subadditivity for the entropy of type β\beta, which is one of the nonadditive entropies, were derived by Z.Dar\'oczy. In this paper, we study the further relations among Tsallis type entropies which are typical nonadditive entropies. The chain rule is generalized by showing it for Tsallis relative entropy and the nonadditive entropy. We show some inequalities related to Tsallis entropies, especially the strong subadditivity for Tsallis type entropies and the subadditivity for the nonadditive entropies. The subadditivity and the strong subadditivity naturally lead to define Tsallis mutual entropy and Tsallis conditional mutual entropy, respectively, and then we show again chain rules for Tsallis mutual entropies. We give properties of entropic distances in terms of Tsallis entropies. Finally we show parametrically extended results based on information theory.Comment: The subsection on data processing inequality was deleted. Some typo's were modifie

Exponential inequalities for positive linear mappings

In this article, we present exponential-type inequalities for positive linear mappings and Hilbert space operators, by means of convexity and the Mond-Pe\v cari\'c method. The obtained results refine and generalize some known results. As an application, we present extensions for operator-like geometric and harmonic means

Entanglement sudden birth of two trapped ions interacting with a time-dependent laser field

We explore and develop the mathematics of the two multi-level ions. In particular, we describe some new features of quantum entanglement in two three-level trapped ions confined in a one-dimensional harmonic potential, allowing the instantaneous position of the center-of-mass motion of the ions to be explicitly time-dependent. By solving the exact dynamics of the system, we show how survivability of the quantum entanglement is determined by a specific choice of the initial state settings.Comment: 13 pages, 4 figure

    Entanglement in squeezed two-level atom

In the previous paper, we adopted the method using quantum mutual entropy to measure the degree of entanglement in the time development of the Jaynes-Cummings model. In this paper, we formulate the entanglement in the time development of the Jaynes-Cummings model with squeezed states, and then show that the entanglement can be controlled by means of squeezing.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures, to be published in J.Phys.
