Ground-state fidelity of Luttinger liquids: A wave functional approach
We use a wave functional approach to calculate the fidelity of ground states
in the Luttinger liquid universality class of one-dimensional gapless quantum
many-body systems. The ground-state wave functionals are discussed using both
the Schrodinger (functional differential equation) formulation and a path
integral formulation. The fidelity between Luttinger liquids with Luttinger
parameters K and K' is found to decay exponentially with system size, and to
obey the symmetry F(K,K')=F(1/K,1/K') as a consequence of a duality in the

Effective generation of Ising interaction and cluster states in coupled microcavities
We propose a scheme for realizing the Ising spin-spin interaction and atomic
cluster states utilizing trapped atoms in coupled microcavities. It is shown
that the atoms can interact with each other via the exchange of virtual photons
of the cavities. Through suitably tuning the parameters, an effective Ising
spin-spin interaction can be generated in this optical system, which is used to
produce the cluster states. This scheme does not need the preparation of
initial states of atoms and cavity modes, and is insensitive to cavity decay.Comment: 11pages, 2 figures, Revtex
Antioxidantactivity In Vitro And Hepatoprotective Effect Of Phlomis Maximowiczii In Vivo
Background: Anumber of medicinal plants and there compounds played a major role in the treatment of hepatic disorders. They were widely used for the treatment of these disorders, and oxidant stress injury was one of the liver injury mechanisms. The present study evaluated the antioxidant activity and the hepatoprotective effect of each extracts of Phlomis maximowiczii.Materials and Methods: The antioxidant activity was assayed by the methods of ABTS, FRAP and DPPH in vitro. Hepatoprotective effect of P. maximowiczii extracts was examined using carbon tetrachloride-induced acute liver injury in mice.Results: P. maximowiczii n-butanol (PMBU) extract, ABTS (IC50=18.96 μg/mL), DPPH (IC50=25.15 μg/mL), and FRAP (RACT50=2775.6±144.18 μmol/g), showed higher scavenging capacity than that of P. maximowiczii ethyl acetate (PMEA). The n-butanol extract could significantly reduce the level of GPT, GOT and MDA (P<0.05, P<0.001 and P<0.001, respectively) and increase the level of SOD (P<0.001), respectively.Conclusion: The antioxidant activity of n-butanol extract in vitro was related with the level ofMDAand SOD in vivo, and hepatoprotective effect of n-butanol extract also had relationship with its antioxidant activity in vivo.Key words: Phlomis maximowiczii, anti-oxidation, acute liver in jury, carbon tetrachloride
Multiband effects on the conductivity for a multiband Hubbard model
The newly discovered iron-based superconductors have attracted lots of
interests, and the corresponding theoretical studies suggest that the system
should have six bands. In this paper, we study the multiband effects on the
conductivity based on the exact solutions of one-dimensional two-band Hubbard
model. We find that the orbital degree of freedom might enhance the critical
value of on-site interaction of the transition from a metal to an
insulator. This observation is helpful to understand why undoped High-
superconductors are usually insulators, while recently discovered iron-based
superconductors are metal. Our results imply that the orbital degree of freedom
in the latter cases might play an essential role.Comment: 4 pages, 5 figure
An exploratory study of teachers' subjective wellbeing: understanding the links between teachers' income satisfaction, altruism, self-efficacy and work satisfaction
This article examines the nature of teachers’ subjective wellbeing. Drawing upon the survey evidence from a three-year mixed methods study in China, the article explores the dynamic interaction between key aspects of teachers’ subjective wellbeing: altruism and self-efficacy (psychological functioning) and work satisfaction and income satisfaction (cognitive dimension). The results show that although teachers’ judgement of the quality of life in their workplaces reflects the strengths of their altruistic values and their capacity to fulfil these values, such judgement is adversely moderated by their income satisfaction. The research adds new evidence to current debate on the quality retention of teachers
