Computer program determines inventory size
FORTRAN 4 computer program calculates optimum size of a small inventory of relatively complex or expensive items. This program can be used in situations where the initial cost of purchase is large or when there is a need for a balanced inventory on a short production run

Measurement of the dependence of the light yields of linear alkylbenzene-based and EJ-301 scintillators on electron energy
An experimental test of the electron energy scale linearities of SNO+ and
EJ-301 scintillators was carried out using a Compton spectrometer with
electrons in the energy range 0.09-3 MeV. The linearity of the apparatus was
explicitly demonstrated. It was found that the response of both types of
scintillators with respect to electrons becomes non-linear below ~0.4 MeV. An
explanation is given in terms of Cherenkov light absorption and re-emission by
the scintillators.Comment: 8 pages, 7 figure
DANP-Evaluation of AHP-DSS
The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and the analytic network process (ANP) are important multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods for solving strategic decision problems. In the field of the research and teaching projects of a university’s Management Science Department, the use of adequate decision support systems (DSS) enables an appropriate application and acceptance of these methods. By reason of the great variety of AHP-DSS, the aim of this paper is the selection of AHP-supporting software. Owing to the interdependencies of the software quality criteria, these influences can be evaluated appropriately by the ANP. As for the various requirements of the different department members, the ANP procedure is linked with the DEMATEL approach. Within such a combined framework (DANP), the alternate software products and their quality selection criteria are transparently analysed and evaluated from a multi-personal point of view. The described procedure is an object of reference to solve such structuring and evaluation problems by support of parallel and/or distributed computing architecture
Characterisation of neurons in the pedal ganglia of the green-lipped mussel, Perna canaliculus, using antibodies raised against neuropeptides and neurotransmitters involved in gastropod egg-laying behaviour and bivalve reproduction and spawning
To characterise central neurons in the pedal ganglia of both male and female green
lipped mussel, Perna canaliculus immunohistochemical techniques were used. Mollusc
antibodies were used against neuropeptides and neurotansmitters known to control
reproduction and spawning. Anti-ELH and anti-APGWamide showed very strong
immunoreactivity in small type of neurons. Anti-5-HT and anti-DA immunoreactivity
was mostly in large type of neurons. The labelled neurons are consistent with
descriptions of neurosecretory cells implicated in the control of reproduction and
spawning on the basis of earlier histological staining techniques used in this species. The
use of selective immunological markers for peptides and amines appears to be a,
promising tool for further characterisation of neurosecretory cells, and to isolate an'tl
characterise neuropeptides and other biologically active materials involved in the control
of reproduction in Perna canaliculus
