Although the resource requirement for direct marketing is quite substantial, exporters, who combine their resources to engage in cooperative international direct marketing, will find it easier to establish marketing presence in Industrial Market Economics

This program solves the governing transport equations in Reynolds average form for the flow of a 3-D, steady state, viscous, heat conducting, multiple species, single phase, Newtonian fluid with combustion. The governing partial differential equations are solved in physical variables in either a Cartesian or cylindrical coordinate system. The effects of rotation on the momentum and enthalpy calculations modeled in Cartesian coordinates are examined. The flow of the fluid should be confined and subsonic with a maximum Mach number no larger than 0.5. Acoustic modal distributions were measured in a fan test model having an annular exhaust duct for comparison with theoretically predicted acoustic suppression values. This report contains the amplitude and phase data of the acoustic signals sensed by the transducers of the two mode probes employed in the measurement. Turbofan aft duct suppressor study
Suppressions due to acoustic treatment in the annular exhaust duct of a model fan were theoretically predicted and compared with measured suppressions. The predictions are based on the modal analysis of sound propagation in a straight annular flow duct with segmented treatment. Modal distributions of the fan noise source (fan-stator interaction only) were measured using in-duct modal probes. The flow profiles were also measured in the vicinity of the modal probes. The acoustic impedance of the single degree of freedom treatment was measured in the presence of grazing flow. The measured values of mode distribution of the fan noise source, the flow velocity profile and the acoustic impedance of the treatment in the duct were used as input to the prediction program. The predicted suppressions, under the assumption of uniform flow in the duct, compared well with the suppressions measured in the duct for all test conditions. The interaction modes generated by the rotor-stator interaction spanned a cut-off ratio range from nearly 1 to 7
Efficacy of common surgical compounds in preventing articular chondrocyte death from desiccation
Purpose: Purpose of this study was to identify potential substances that prevent desiccation of chondrocytes. Methods: Macroscopically normal bovine cartilage explants (n = 80) were exposed to room air, or covered with surgical lubricant, Lactated ringer (LR) or Seprafilm (Genzyme Biosurgery, Cambridge, MA) for 0, 30, 60 or 120 min. The viability of superficial chondrocytes was measured after 48 h of incubation in tissue culture media at 37 °C by Live/Dead staining. Chondrotoxicity was measured as the extent of cell death below the articular surface. Statistical analysis was performed with a two-way analysis of variance on the data set and a subsequent Tukey’s post hoc test. Results: Chondrocyte death correlated positively with the length of exposure, regardless of the treatment (p < 0.0001). The extent of superficial chondrocyte death was minimally lower in the LR (89.1 ± 2.6 %, 80.8 ± 1.2 %) and surgical lube (84.3 ± 1.8 %, 75.9 ± 2.7 %) groups than the control (82 ± 5.7 %, 65.6 ± 13.3 %) and Seprafilm group (77.6 ± 3.9 %, 63.3 ± 6.9 %) (p < 0.001) at the first two time points, with no significant difference between the latter groups. After 60 and 120 min, surgical lube resulted in less chondrocyte death than all other groups (70.4 ± 6.8 % and 60.9 ± 5.9 %, all p < 0.0001). Conclusion: The data suggest that depending on the expected length of exposure of the articular cartilage surface, different compounds appear to be protective. For exposures exceeding 60 min, surgical lubricant demonstrated the highest protective potential. Results from this study indicate that protecting exposed articular surfaces with surgical lubricant for orthopaedic procedures lasting more than 1 h lead to decreased chondrocyte death and suggest improved cartilage functional outcomes postoperatively
Prospective study of the prescribing pattern of antibiotics and their outcome in patients admitted to intensive care unit at tertiary center
Background: Antibiotics are currently the most commonly prescribed drugs in hospitals, worldwide. overuse of antibiotics has important economic implications. Periodic evaluation of drug utilization in the intensive care unit (ICU) is necessary for optimization of health care system, proper use of resources and making prescription policy because ICU is considered as the epi-center of antimicrobial resistance. The aim of this study is to evaluate antibiotic prescription and consumption patterns at admission into intensive care unit and to know the average costs of antibiotics.Methods: The prescription data on 250 consecutive patients at admission into the ICU was audited from January to March 2019. Total antibiotics, dose, route and cost of antibiotics were noted and the defined daily dose/100 bed days of most common antibiotics were calculated. Statistical analysis is done using SPSS software.Results: A total of 689 antibiotics were prescribed in the 250 patients studied that is, an average of 2.28 antibiotics/prescription. Empirical antibiotics were prescribed to all the patients admitted to ICU. Average cost of the antibiotics was rupees 163.89 per patients. The most commonly prescribed antibiotic at ICU admission was ceftriaxone (62%) of all prescription. Second most common is metronidazole (32%). In this study, 76 patients recovered while 174 patients expired.Conclusions: Our study reveals that antibiotics are widely prescribed in critically ill patients and form significant drug consumed in the ICU. At admission elderly patients are prescribed >2 antibiotics and prescribing antibiotics where the cost of antibiotic is high
Development of modified double-weight code and its implementation in multi-rate transmissions
This paper presents a new code structure and its ability in supporting multiple transmission rates in point to point Spectral Amplitude Coding- Optical Code Division Multiple Access (SAC-OCDMA) links. The Double-Weight (DW) code family that has a basic fixed weight of 2 was proposed. Modified Double Weight (MDW) Code is a DW code family variation that has variable weight of greater than two. The ability of MDW codes to support simultaneous transmissions at different bit rates is shown through simulated results of the bit error rate (BER) and the eye patterns. Four MDW encoded channels were used at the bit rates of 2.5Gbps and 10Gbps. MDW code shown here significantly performs better than Hadamard and Modified Frequency Hopping (MFH) codes
