    Lyra's cosmology of homogeneous and isotropic universe in Brans-Dicke theory

    In this paper, we investigate a scalar field Brans-Dicke cosmological model in Lyra's geometry which is based on the modifications in geometrical term as well as energy term of Einstein's field equations. We have examined the validity of proposed cosmological model on observational scale by performing statistical analysis from latest H(z)H(z) and SN Ia observational data. We find that the estimated values of Hubble's constant and matter energy density parameter are in agreement with their corresponding values, obtained from recent observations of WMAP and Plank collaboration. We also derived deceleration parameter, age of the universe and jerk parameter in terms of red-shift and computed its present values. The dynamics of deceleration parameter in derived model of the universe shows a signature flipping from positive to negative value and also indicates that the present universe is in accelerating phase.Comment: 9 pages, 6 Figures, Accepted for Publication in Int.     CD34 is a highly glycosylated surface-expressed sialomucin and, because it is present on hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs), has demonstrated immense clinical utility in their enumeration in aphaeresis products, immunoaffinity purification for transplantation, and disease monitoring. The success of CD34 based reagents in identifying hematopoietic progenitors led to the assumption that CD34 is expressed on cells with regenerative potential and is sufficient for hematopoietic reconstitution in marrow-ablated recipients. However, its role has not been identified in substantial detail. 

With the advent of the fact that CD34 binds adapter protein like CRK-L in cytosol and CD34 knock out studies identified a a signaling role, CD34 antigen has been proposed to play a signaling function. Since it is a sialomucin, a member of the group adhesion molecules, we attempted to identify a role by over-expreesing its gene in cell lines. We report here that CD34 and engineered forms (Ser306 & Tyr318) significantly regulates adhesion to stromal cells, like mesenchymal stem cells and bone marrow ligands. These enhance binding of cells overexpressing CD34 by upregulating integrins and we therefore propose that such cells may effectively potentiate the success of transplantation through greater homing if they are used for transfusion

    The construction concept is upgrading every year and major concern is given to the environment and human health. People’s activities for the sophistication has really degraded the component of environment which has impact in global warming, heat island effect and other hazardous effect causing negative impact to human health as well as environment. Now this trend need be changed and any construction work must be in collaboration with environment which is also coined as Green Building concept. In spite of many organizations’s effort this technology is being limited to some developed countries and no major progress is concluded in specially developing countries. Lack of awareness and misconception about the green building is limiting this concept. In order to make the green world very soon the system must be commenced from the government level itself. Government of every country should make grounds rules making basic green building categories and should register those building which have fulfilled the basic categories and certification must be given from government level itself evaluating the categories(Sustainable site development, Water saving, Energy efficiency, Material Selection, Indoor Environmental quality and Design) and innovation. Innovative design and implementation of engineering concept for every category must be given high priority.     Limb length discrepancy after total hip arthroplasty: a systematic review

    Correcting limb length inequality without compromising hip stability is one of the major intraoperative challenges in Total hip arthroplasty (THA) as it is a major cause of patient dissatisfaction and litigation against surgeon. Surgeons performing THA should aim to minimize Limb Length Discrepancy (LLD), and therefore should adopt a reliable method of doing so. Thus a reproducible technique which effectively reduces postoperative LLD without increasing operative time and is easy to apply is a need of time. Although various preoperative and intraoperative techniques are described in literature, none is universally applicable and is without limitations. We are presenting a review of 50 articles on limb length discrepancy after total hip arthroplasty, its implications and several techniques to avoid it. We suggest that every effort should be made to minimise postoperative Limb Length Discrepancy by combined use of preoperative and intraoperative techniques

    Oral Health Consequences of Use of Smokeless Tobacco in North India: A Cross-Sectional Survey

    Objective: To evaluate the effects of commonly used smokeless tobacco forms on oral health at habitual placement sites of smokeless tobacco compared to non-placement sites among the North Indian population. Material and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted among 542 individuals using smokeless tobacco recruited from the outpatient wing of the Dental College. Subjects completed a questionnaire and received an oral examination. Periodontal pocket depth, gingival index, plaque index, gingival recession, and oral mucosal changes were assessed. Kendal’s Tau test, paired t-test, and chi-square test were carried out to compare different variables among placement and non-placement sites. Results: Most of the subjects were male, reporting an average of 11.26 years of SLT use. Clinical inflammation of gingiva was significantly greater (p=0.01) at placement-sites (1.64 ± 0.53) of SLT in comparison to non-placement-sites (1.40 ± 0.41). The difference in the GR and PPD at placement and non-placement-sites was also statistically significant with p=0.002 and p=0.001, respectively. Clinically, the majority of subjects had mucosal changes at the placement sites, and a statistically significant association (p=0.034) was observed between the duration of the use of smokeless tobacco and the mucosal changes. Conclusion: Smokeless tobacco use predisposes to increased risk of periodontal diseases and oral mucosal changes at the placement sites in an individual due to the local irritant effect

    Identifying the Potential Determinants of Tobacco Counseling Implementation among Oral Health Professionals of India: A Cross-Sectional Survey

    Objective: To identify the potential determinants of tobacco counseling implementation among oral health professionals in India. Material and Methods: A cross-sectional survey was carried out among the 298 dentists of Aligarh and Gwalior. The questionnaire used in the study had sections on dentists\u27 sociodemographic data and a 35-item questionnaire to assess the potential determinants of tobacco cessation counseling. Descriptive statistics were carried out, and a Chi-square test was utilized to determine the association. P-value <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: Domains "knowledge", "Professional Responsibility and Identity", and "Remembrance, awareness, and judgment" showed a statistically significant correlation with most tobacco cessation counseling behaviors. In addition, undergraduate education received in Tobacco Cessation counseling, and Continuing education received in Tobacco Cessation counseling had significantly impacted the practice of tobacco cessation counseling (p=0.02 and 0.04, respectively). Conclusion: This study suggests that "Knowledge", "Professional Responsibility and Identity" and "Remembrance, awareness, and judgment" are the potential determinants that could be used to design effective strategies to enhance tobacco counseling among dentists in India

    DeeR-Gen: A Pseudo Random Number Generator for Industry 4.0 / IoT

    Random binary bit sequences or random numbers are very useful in cryptographic applications. These sequences are used as a key in different encryption algorithms. Also, they can be used as random nonce in many mutual authentication protocols. Because these sequences are used at very basic level in cryptographic applications there generation should be fast, secure, and energy-efficient. Particularly in the case of Industry 4.0/IoT, a lightweight implementation is much needed along with high security and rapid production. The earlier generators of random numbers used the true source of randomness but the same is not feasible in current scalable Industry 4.0/IoT scenario. Many works have already been done to generate random numbers through PRNGs. Some examples are J3Gen, Warbler, LAMED, and ARROW. However, it is essential to bring a completely programmed, highly secured, energy efficient and a fast paced algorithm for random number generation. In this paper, a novel algorithm, named DeeR-Gen, which works with one multiplexer and two NLFSRs is presented. It requires only 245 GE on ASIC, lowest hardware requirement till date. Proposed methodology has also been tested for EPC test of randomness. The authors found the proposed algorithm secure and energy-efficient to be used in any lightweight cryptographic algorithm

    DeeR-Hash: A lightweight hash construction for Industry 4.0 / IoT

    Industry 4.0 and IoT are emerging computing environments for low energy devices. Implementing complex security mechanisms in such environment is challenging. A lightweight and energy aware hashing provides high security to the devices under these environments. Earlier hash algorithms such as SHA and MD5 were very complex and hence are not suitable for the energy constrained devices. Similar hashing algorithm is needed for low energy devices as well. The authors proposed a sponge based hashing algorithm that is capable of providing a security up to second preimage attack to the devices communicating under such constrained environments. The methodology of the proposed design is derived from some existing lightweight hash constructions such as Photon, Quark, Gluon, and Spongent. The steps in the algorithm of DeeR-Hash include the steps for DeeRSponge and DeeRStateUpdate as well. To construct the sponge for the proposed hashing, the authors had taken the value of b, r, and c as 80, 2, and 78 respectively. After implementing the algorithm in a tag-reader scenario, the authors find that it is taking only 483 GE for 80-bits digest and is suitable for a lightweight cryptographic environment. The avalanche effect produced by the proposed algorithm further strengthens the security claim of the authors.     Correlation between thyroxin hormone level, bilirubin and uric acid in diabetic subjects

    Background: Levels of thyroxin hormone along with T3, TSH and other markers such as uric acid, bilirubin and glucose are important in diagnosis and medical management of diabetes mellitus and thyroid disorder. Relationship between these parameters are important in both diabetes mellitus and Thyroid gland disease, as both disorders are increasing very fast in Indian population. Present study aimed to analyzed T3, T4, TSH, uric acid and bilirubin in Haroti Region of Jhalawar, Rajasthan in diabetic and non diabetic subjects.Methods: One hundred diabetes mellitus subjects and 100 healthy control subjects were analyzed for determination of thyroxin, T3, TSH, uric acid and bilirubin by commercial kit method.Results: One hundred subjects of diabetes mellitus between age 30-60 years male and female were analyzed. It was observed significantly T3 <0.001 T4 <0.001 TSH <0.001 bilirubin <0.01 in diabetic subjects and found to be significant when compared in both groups. However, uric acid level insignificant in both patients and control groups.Conclusions:This study demonstrated that thyroxin hormone with T3, TSH and bilirubin and uric acid, are important parameters and their values are significant when compared with healthy subjects in diabetes mellitus and thyroid disorder.
