Rule-Driven Mobile Intelligent Agents for Real-Time Configuration of IP Networks
Even though intelligent agent has proven itself to be a promising branch of artificial intelligence (AI), its mobility capacity has yet been paid enough attention to match the pervasive trend of networks. This paper proposes to inject intelligence into mobile agent of cur-rent literature by introducing rule-driven mobile agent so as to maintain both intelligence and mobility of current agent. Particularly, this methodology is fully exemplified in the context of real-time IP network configuration through intelligent mobile agent based network management architecture, policy specification language and policy information model. A case study for inter-domain IP VPN configuration demonstrates the design and implementation of this management system based on the test-bed developed in the context of European Union IST Project CONTEXT

Suppression of tumorigenesis and metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma by shRNA interference targeting on homeoprotein Six1
We previously demonstrated that the overexpression of homeoprotein Six1 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients is associated with venous infiltration, advanced pathologic tumor metastasis (pTNM) stage and poor overall survival rate (Ng et al. Br J Cancer 2006;95:1050-5). In this study, short hairpin RNA (shRNA) interference approach was used to suppress the expression of Six1 in a metastatic HCC cell line MHCC97L. Stable transfectant MHCC97L-shSix1 carrying Six1-specific shRNA plasmid was established to downregulate Six1 expression to about 40% when compared with MHCC97L-Control. In vitro functional assays demonstrated that the growth rate and proliferation ability of MHCC97L-shSix1 cells were markedly decreased. Moreover, significant decrease of cell motility and invasiveness were observed in MHCC97L-shSix1 cells. Data from in vivo xenograft tumorigenesis model demonstrated that the size of tumor in MHCC97L-shSix1 group was dramatically reduced. Experimental and spontaneous metastasis models indicated that targeting Six1 suppression noticeably reduced the pulmonary metastasis in MHCC97L-shSix1 group. To identify Six1-regulated targets, cDNA microarray was employed to compare the expression profiles of MHCC97L-Control and MHCC97L-shSix1 cells. Twenty-eight downregulated and 24 upregulated genes with known functions were identified in MHCC97L-shSix1. The functions of these target genes are involved in diverse biological activities. Our data suggest that Six1 may be involved in regulation of proliferation and invasiveness of HCC; thus targeting suppression of Six1 is a viable option for treating HCC patients. © 2009 UICC.postprin

Longer fixation duration while viewing face images
The spatio-temporal properties of saccadic eye movements can be influenced by the cognitive demand and the characteristics of the observed scene. Probably due to its crucial role in social communication, it is argued that face perception may involve different cognitive processes compared with non-face object or scene perception. In this study, we investigated whether and how face and natural scene images can influence the patterns of visuomotor activity. We recorded monkeysâ saccadic eye movements as they freely viewed monkey face and natural scene images. The face and natural scene images attracted similar number of fixations, but viewing of faces was accompanied by longer fixations compared with natural scenes. These longer fixations were dependent on the context of facial features. The duration of fixations directed at facial contours decreased when the face images were scrambled, and increased at the later stage of normal face viewing. The results suggest that face and natural scene images can generate different patterns of visuomotor activity. The extra fixation duration on faces may be correlated with the detailed analysis of facial features
Coupling of magnetic order and charge transport in the candidate Dirac semimetal EuCd2As2
We use resonant elastic x-ray scattering to determine the evolution of magnetic order in EuCd2As2 below
TN = 9.5 K, as a function of temperature and applied magnetic field. We find an A-type antiferromagnetic structure
with in-plane magnetic moments, and observe dramatic magnetoresistive effects associated with field-induced
changes in the magnetic structure and domain populations. Our ab initio electronic structure calculations indicate
that the Dirac dispersion found in the nonmagnetic Dirac semimetal Cd3As2 is also present in EuCd2As2, but is
gapped for T <TN due to the breaking of C3 symmetry by the magnetic structure
Analysis of the Constituents in Rat Serum after Oral Administration of Fufang Zhenzhu Tiaozhi Capsule by UPLCâQâTOFâMS/MS
A rapid and sensitive UPLC/QâTOFâMS method has been established for analysis of the constituents in rat serum after oral administration of Fufang Zhenzhu Tiaozhi (FTZ) capsule, an effective compound prescription for treating hyperlipidemia in the clinic. The UPLC/MS information of samples was obtained first in FTZ preparation and FTZ-treated rat serum. Mass spectra were acquired in both negative and positive ion modes. Thirty-six constituents in rat serum after oral administration of FTZ were detected, including the alkaloids, ginsenosides, pentacyclic triterpenes, and their metabolites. These chemicals were identified based on the retention time and mass spectrometry data with those of authentic standards or comparison of the literatures reports. Twenty-seven prototype components originated from FTZ and nine were the metabolites of the FTZ constituents. These results shed light on the potential active constituents of the complex traditional Chinese medicinal formulas
