Translation of Chinese Internet Catchword from the Perspective of Eco-Translatology

Internet catchwords are characterized by flexibility, vividness and conciseness. In addition to their basic semantic features, most of the Internet catchwords often contain deeper cultural meanings and purposes of communication. Eco-translatology is a new translation theory developed on “translation theory of adaptation and selection”, which focuses on the integrity of translational ecosystem and adheres to the “theory of translator-centeredness”. This paper attempts to explore the translation of Internet catchwords from the linguistic, cultural and communicative dimensions of eco-translatology to promote the development of English translation of Chinese Internet catchwords, promoting and accelerating the spread of Chinese Internet catchwords and Internet culture

The Formalization of English Structures with Preposition “in” and Their Chinese Translations

One of the main problems that affect the quality of machine translation is how to express the knowledge of language in precision. Based on the theory of Semantic Element (SE) and Semantic Element Representations (SER) in Unified Linguistics, the classification of English structures with preposition “in” is proposed from the perspective of C-E and E-C translation. These English structures and their Chinese translations are further formalized into English and Chinese SER respectively. Eco-translatology and Translation Teaching

Eco-translatology, a new translation theory, was developed on “translation theory of adaptation and selection”. It focuses on the integrity of translational ecosystem and adheres to the “theory of translator-centeredness”. Unified Classification of Nominal Classifiers and Formalization of Classifier-noun Phrases

One of the main problems that affect the quality of machine translation is how to express the knowledge of language in precision. Based on the theory of Semantic Element (SE) in Unified Linguistics, a new unified classification of English and Chinese nominal classifiers is proposed from the perspective of C-E and E-C translation. Different Semantic Element Representations (SER) of classifiers in English and Chinese have the same semantic type of classifiers. The English and Chinese noun-classifier phrases are formalized into English and Chinese SER respectively.
