Nazi camps as depicted in naive art
The paper presents the realizations of the theme of concentration camps in folk art, i.e. the sculptures made by Władysław Chajec, Zygmunt Skrętowicz, Franciszek Skocz, and Jan Staszak. Chajec and Staszak tried to present the most drastic moments in the history of the Nazi death factories. These sculptors drew inspiration from the popular iconography of the Holocaust, i.e. pictures showing the liberation of the camps. Skocz carved a cycle of figures that represent members of the SS and prisoners who are doing labor and who are being subjected to punishment, whereas Staszak decided to create his works by using wood from the trees growing on the borders of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp, thus treating these plants as witnesses of suffering. This article presents the aforementioned works against the background of the crisis of representation, which permeates culture after the Holocaust. The paper presents the realizations of the theme of concentration camps in folk art, i.e. the sculptures made by Władysław Chajec, Zygmunt Skrętowicz, Franciszek Skocz, and Jan Staszak. An OWAS-based Analysis of Storekeeper Workloads
Since 1950s' attention has been paid in enterprises to customize complex technical structures to meet worker's needs. However, work creates negative for worker's health static posture which adversely affects worker's workload. The following research paper introduces certain problematic aspects of static load risk management of staff employed. The issue in question is quite relevant in warehouse labour ergonomics as well as effective organization and handling of tasks. The paper discusses OWAS method as a means to evaluate worker's workload. It also presents the employment of the method to analyse storehouse workload
Cooperation between Industry and Science – the Evaluation of Coordination of Operations
Cooperating with universities is complementary to other innovation activities such as performing own R&D, sourcing public information and cooperating with other partners. Poland will have to focus more strongly on developing capacities in innovation and business sophistication. Stronger clusters, more R&D orientation of companies, and intensified collaboration between universities and the private sector. The article presents research other and own study
Adam-Gibbs model in the density scaling regime and its implications for the configurational entropy scaling
To solve a long-standing problem of condensed matter physics with determining
a proper description of the thermodynamic evolution of the time scale of
molecular dynamics near the glass transition, we extend the well-known
Adam-Gibbs model to describe the temperature-volume dependence of structural
relaxation times, . We employ the thermodynamic scaling
idea reflected in the density scaling power law, , recently acknowledged as a valid unifying concept in the
glass transition physics, to discriminate between physically relevant and
irrelevant attempts at formulating the temperature-volume representations of
the Adam-Gibbs model. As a consequence, we determine a straightforward relation
between the structural relaxation time and the
configurational entropy , giving evidence that also with the exponent {\gamma} that enables to scale
. This important finding has meaningful implications for
the linkage between thermodynamics and molecular dynamics near the glass
transition, because it implies that can be scaled with
The Application of Simulation Methods in the Comparative Analysis of Car Spare Parts Distribution Systems
Car spare parts are omnipresent in the modern world. They play a major role in business, maintenance and repairs. Car spare parts must be frequently provided in after-sales service. Customers of spare parts have great expectations in terms of their delivery and availability. Most important are short-term orders realisation and flexible services. The main aim of the paper is to consider two different distribution systems that occur at one entrepreneur’s. The reason of this consideration is to identify which of the distribution systems is more effective regarding the order completion time and more effective regarding the level of customer service. In case of realising these aims, the simulation models analyses are propose
Digital technology for digital supply chain : the clusters identification
PURPOSE: On the basis of the conducted research global trends that relate to technological
support (digital technologies, DT) for the Digital Supply Chain were identified. It resulted in
the creation of a set of eight key non-one-directional technological support trends. The goal
is of cognitive and conceptual character.DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: The research implemented benefits from the text mining
method and cluster analysis using genetic algorithms. Made it possible to identify conceptual
clusters by singling out a group of similar objects which coexist intensively.FINDINGS: The use of digital technologies in supply chains will be essential to ensure even
and faster global recovery. Over the next three years, we are expected to experience various
types of economic turbulence, supply chain disruptions, and unforeseen events. It is clear
that neither resilience nor governance will be possible without reliable and advanced digital
technologies.PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: In the near future, digitization will play an even greater role in the
operation of supply chains. It will increase the information transparency of supply chains
and increase the resilience of supply chains.ORIGINALITY/VALUE: The article indicates the directions of research and works on digital
technologies and digitization in the coming years in Digital Supply Chains. This research was funded by the Poznan University of Technology, grant number
