Colour Screening, Quark Propagation in Nuclear Matter and the Broadening of the Momentum Distribution of Drell-Yan Pairs
We calculate the broadening of the transverse momentum distribution of a
quark propagating through nuclear matter. Colour screening plays a fundamental
role in that it cuts off quark-nucleon interactions with soft gluons. The mean
transverse momentum of the quark acquired along its trajectory, observed via
Drell-Yan pairs, is related to it the ratio of the total inelastic
meson-nucleon cross section it to the meson mean squared radius. Parameter-free

Implications of a charged-current anomaly at HERA
We demonstrate that in the presence of mixing between different scalar
leptoquark multiplets it is possible to simultaneously account for the HERA
high- neutral current anomaly, and produce a charged current anomaly of
comparable magnitude. The reduced branching ratio to electrons and jets of the
lightest leptoquark state results in a significant weakening of the CDF/D0
limits on scalar leptoquarks; masses consistent with the HERA neutral current
excess are comfortably within the allowed range. We show that the possibilities
for such a successful mixed leptoquark scenario are quite limited, and we
investigate some aspects of their phenomenology.Comment: 10 pages Latex. Corrected 3-body decay width
Correction Factors for Reactions involving Quark-Antiquark Annihilation or Production
In reactions with production or annihilation, initial-
and final-state interactions give rise to large corrections to the lowest-order
cross sections. We evaluate the correction factor first for low relative
kinetic energies by studying the distortion of the relative wave function. We
then follow the procedure of Schwinger to interpolate this result with the
well-known perturbative QCD vertex correction factors at high energies, to
obtain an explicit semi-empirical correction factor applicable to the whole
range of energies. The correction factor predicts an enhancement for
in color-singlet states and a suppression for color-octet states, the effect
increasing as the relative velocity decreases. Consequences on dilepton
production in the quark-gluon plasma, the Drell-Yan process, and heavy quark

Diffractive Dijet Production at sqrt(s)=630 and 1800 GeV at the Fermilab Tevatron
We report a measurement of the diffractive structure function of
the antiproton obtained from a study of dijet events produced in association
with a leading antiproton in collisions at GeV at the
Fermilab Tevatron. The ratio of at GeV to
obtained from a similar measurement at GeV is compared with
expectations from QCD factorization and with theoretical predictions. We also
report a measurement of the (-Pomeron) and ( of parton in
Pomeron) dependence of at GeV. In the region
, GeV and , is
found to be of the form , which obeys

Search for a Technicolor omega_T Particle in Events with a Photon and a b-quark Jet at CDF
If the Technicolor omega_T particle exists, a likely decay mode is omega_T ->
gamma pi_T, followed by pi_T -> bb-bar, yielding the signature gamma bb-bar. We
have searched 85 pb^-1 of data collected by the CDF experiment at the Fermilab
Tevatron for events with a photon and two jets, where one of the jets must
contain a secondary vertex implying the presence of a b quark. We find no
excess of events above standard model expectations. We express the result of an

Observation of Hadronic W Decays in t-tbar Events with the Collider Detector at Fermilab
We observe hadronic W decays in t-tbar -> W (-> l nu) + >= 4 jet events using
a 109 pb-1 data sample of p-pbar collisions at sqrt{s} = 1.8 TeV collected with
the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF). A peak in the dijet invariant mass
distribution is obtained that is consistent with W decay and inconsistent with
the background prediction by 3.3 standard deviations. From this peak we measure
the W mass to be 77.2 +- 4.6 (stat+syst) GeV/c^2. This result demonstrates the
presence of two W bosons in t-tbar candidates in the W (-> l nu) + >= 4 jet

Measurement of the B0 anti-B0 oscillation frequency using l- D*+ pairs and lepton flavor tags
The oscillation frequency Delta-md of B0 anti-B0 mixing is measured using the
partially reconstructed semileptonic decay anti-B0 -> l- nubar D*+ X. The data
sample was collected with the CDF detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider
during 1992 - 1995 by triggering on the existence of two lepton candidates in
an event, and corresponds to about 110 pb-1 of pbar p collisions at sqrt(s) =
1.8 TeV. We estimate the proper decay time of the anti-B0 meson from the
measured decay length and reconstructed momentum of the l- D*+ system. The
charge of the lepton in the final state identifies the flavor of the anti-B0
meson at its decay. The second lepton in the event is used to infer the flavor
of the anti-B0 meson at production. We measure the oscillation frequency to be
Delta-md = 0.516 +/- 0.099 +0.029 -0.035 ps-1, where the first uncertainty is
