Can Ethical Leaders Enhance Knowledge Sharing? The Role of Psychological Capital and Anticipated Reciprocal Relationships

    Get PDF
The aim of the paper is to empirically investigate the influence of ethical leadership and psychological capital on knowledge sharing in business organizations. Furthermore, the paper investigates the mediating role of psychological capital and moderating role of anticipated reciprocal relationships in the relationship of ethical leadership with knowledge sharing. The analysis has been conducted on data gathered from 248 members of information technology (IT) companies by making use of survey questionnaire. Hypotheses are tested by analysing the data using structural equation modelling (SEM) and PROCESS macro. The study found that ethical leadership and psychological capital have positive effect on knowledge sharing. Ethical leadership also impacts psychological capital positively. Further, psychological capital acts as a mediator and anticipated reciprocal relationships act as moderator in the relationship of ethical leadership and knowledge sharing. This study establishes new antecedents of knowledge sharing, emphasizes the importance of ethical aspects of leadership in managing knowledge resources and enrich literature of Knowledge Management (KM), leadership, positive organizational behavior and human resources management. It further gives new perspectives to practitioners by recognizing the significance of ethical leadership, psychological capital and anticipated reciprocal relationships to enhance knowledge sharing. To the best of authors’ knowledge, this study is one of few initial studies to examine the linkages between ethical leadership, knowledge sharing and psychological capital as well as the role of anticipated reciprocal relationships therein

Anlytical study based on issues of Routing & Security in Wireless sensor networks

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are receiving significant importance in the present scenario owing to their unlimited potential and world wide applications. The routes in the network are determined by the most secured and energy efficient routing protocols and these energy efficient routing protocols employed for WSNs are the Hierarchical or cluster based routing protocols that are essential for path computation in sensor networks. Since most of the hierarchical routing protocols aim to be developed as energy efficient, the security issues are not given much importance most of the times. But in certain applications such as military or battle field the data is to be maintained secret while communicating between sensor nodes and basin so security issues are also required to be focused in developing routing protocols. Keeping in view above in this paper we intend to present the various security issues involved while designing the hierarchical routing protocol for a specific WSN and the design challenges while studying different hierarchical based routing protocols. Keywords- Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), Hierarchical routing, Securityissues

Double burden of malnutrition among elderly population of Delhi

    Get PDF
Background: Nutritional status is an important determinant for elderly, directly influencing their susceptibility to diseases, adversely affecting their quality of life.  Aim & Objective: To assess the nutritional status of elderly persons aged ?60 years residing in an urban resettlement colony of Delhi. Materials and Methods: A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted in a resettlement colony in Delhi. Cluster random sampling was used. Three out of ten blocks were selected randomly. All elderly persons present in the selected blocks were included.  Information on socio-demographic variables was collected. Arm span and weight were measured by trained investigators. Data was entered in MS Excel 2007 and analyzed in Stata 11.0. Multiple logistic regression was done to determine the association between nutritional status and socio-demographic variables Results: A total of 711 elderly persons were recruited. About half (53.2%) had normal nutritional status, 20.8% were underweight and 19.4% were overweight and 6.6% were obese. Under-nutrition was significantly associated with gender, while overweight/obesity was found to be significantly associated with age (p<0.001), gender (p<0.001), occupation (p<0.001) and economic dependency (p< 0.001). Conclusion: Dual burden of malnutrition was seen, so there is a need to promote healthy eating and lifestyle to address both spectrum of malnutrition

Genome analysis of amaranths: determination of inter- and intra-species variations

    Get PDF
Amaranths are an important group of plants and include grain, vegetable and ornamental types. Despite the economic importance of the amaranths, there is very little information available about the extent and nature of genetic diversity present in the genus Amaranthus at molecular level. We now report the randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) profiles of different species of Amaranthus as well as different accessions of the species. These RAPD analyses have been carried out using 65 arbitrary sequence decamer primers. From the RAPD data, an UPGMA dendrogram illustrating the inter-as well as intra-species relationships has been computed. The putative hybrid origin of A.dubious from A. hybridus and A. spinosus is also ruled out by the RAPD data. The trends of species relationships amongst the amaranths determined by RAPDs is consistent with their cytogenetic and evolutionary relationships that have already been determined

The simplest parametrization of equation of state parameter in the scalar field Universe

In this paper, we have investigated a scalar field cosmological model of accelerating Universe with the simplest parametrization of equation of state parameter of the scalar field. We used H(z)H(z) data, pantheon compilation of SN Ia data and BAO data to constrained the model parameters using χ2\chi^{2} minimization technique. We obtain the present values of Hubble constant H0H_{0} as 66.2−1.34+1.4266.2^{+1.42}_{-1.34}, 70.7−0.31+0.3270.7^{+0.32}_{-0.31} and 67.74−1.04+1.2467.74^{+1.24}_{-1.04} for H(z)H(z), H(z)H(z) + Pantheon and H(z)H(z) + BAO respectively. Also, we have estimated the present age of the Universe in derived model t0=14.38−0.64+0.63t_{0} = 14.38^{+0.63}_{-0.64} for joint H(z)H(z) and pantheon compilation of SN Ia data which has only 0.88 σ0.88~\sigma tension with its empirical value obtained in Plank collaboration \cite{Ade/2016}. Moreover, the present values of the deceleration parameter q0q_{0} come out to be −0.55−0.038+0.031-0.55^{+0.031}_{-0.038}, −0.61−0.021+0.030-0.61^{+0.030}_{-0.021} and −0.627−0.025+0.022-0.627^{+0.022}_{-0.025} by bounding the Universe in derived model with H(z)H(z), H(z)H(z) + Pantheon compilation of SN Ia and H(z)H(z) + BAO data sets respectively. We also have performed the state-finder diagnostics to discover the nature of dark energy.Comment: 8 Pages, 12 Figure
