Host-guest interaction of cucurbit[7]uril with para-nitrophenol: A weakly binding inclusion complex

    Get PDF
Host-guest interaction between water soluble rigid molecular container cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]) and a water soluble organic guest para-nitrophenol (PNP) has been investigated using 1H NMR spectroscopy and isothermal titration calorimetry. The stoichiometry, binding constant and other thermodynamic parameters of complexation have been obtained which show the formation of weakly binding 1:1 inclusion complex resulting from enthalpy-entropy compensation. Cyclic voltammetry study of PNP-CB[7] complex in acidic pH reveals a large cathodic shift in the reduction potentials of PNP, indicating either stabilization of PNP or destabilization of the electro-reduced product inside CB[7] cavity

Not AvailableThe study was conducted to assess the stability of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs)and the factors contributing to the stability of FPOs in West Bengal during 2020. Usingrandom sampling procedure, data were collected from 120 farmer members from ten FPOsfrom four districts of the state namely Birbhum, Murshidabad, Purba Bardhaman andNadia through personal interview method. For measuring the stability of FPOs, stabilityindex was developed taking mutual trust, role clarity of the members, level of involvementof members in group works, satisfaction of the members, sense of attachment and convictionand sense of ownership as the indicators. The significant difference between the meanscores of stability index of high and low performing FPOs were observed with respect tothe dimensions like satisfaction of the members, mutual trust, role clarity and sense ofattachment and conviction. Attitude of members towards their FPO and cooperation werefound to be significant contributor in developing better group stability within a highperforming FPO. Attitude towards FPO, assimilation and competition were found to bethe reliable predictors for the variance in group stability in low performing FPOs.Not Availabl
