Science and technology on the Internet : an instructional guide
<p>This instructional guide was written to introduce scientists, engineers, and information professionals and librarians who serve them to the Internet's services and capabilities to support scientific communication, collaboration, publication, data sharing, and literature search. Written in the early days of the Internet, before the World Web, the examples in the book are outdated because they focus on Internet tools and protocols such as Gopher, FTP, Telnet, etc. now considered obsolete. However, the underlying principles and vision shared in this book about how the Internet is changing the process and practices of scientific research and communication are still very relevant today.</p
