Virtual Environment: assistance in nursing care for the deaf based on the protocol of Primary Care

Objective: Presenting a Virtual Environment (VE) based on the Protocol of Treatment of Hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus type 2, used in Primary Care for evaluation of dietary habits in nursing consultations. Method: An experimental study applied by two nurses and a nurse manager, in a sample of 30 deaf patients aged between 30 and 60 years. The environment was built in Visual Basic NET and offered eight screens about feeding containing food pictures, videos in Libras (Brazilian sign language) and audio. The analysis of the VE was done through questionnaires applied to patients and professionals by the Poisson statistical test. Results: The VE shows the possible diagnostics in red, yellow, green and blue colors, depending on the degree of patients’ need. Conclusion: The environment obtained excellent acceptance by patients and nurses, allowing great interaction between them, even without an interpreter. The time in consultation was reduced to 15 minutes, with the preservation of patient privacy

Instrumento de medida de carga de trabalho dos profissionais de Saúde na Atenção Primária: desenvolvimento e validação

RESUMO Objetivo Propor e validar um instrumento que contemple as intervenções/atividades realizadas pela equipe de saúde da família, como referência para o planejamento da força de trabalho. Método Pesquisa metodológica desenvolvida nas etapas: construção do instrumento; validação de conteúdo e teste piloto, em três unidades, localizadas na região sudeste do Brasil. Resultados Foram validadas 39 intervenções em um único instrumento de medida de carga de trabalho para médico, cirurgião-dentista, técnico/auxiliar de saúde bucal, enfermeiro, técnico/auxiliar de enfermagem e agente comunitário de saúde. No teste piloto, o instrumento contemplou 100% das intervenções observadas, atingindo 93,7% de concordância entre os observadores. Conclusão O instrumento proposto, inédito na sua configuração, subsidia o planejamento da força de trabalho em atenção primária

Use of patients’ classification instruments: analysis of the brazilian production of knowledge

Objective To analyze the production of scientific knowledge about the use of patients’ classification instruments in care and management practice in Brazil. Method Integrative literature review with databases search in: Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS), Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System on-line (MEDLINE), Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) and SCOPUS, between January 2002 through December 2013. Results 1,194 studies were found, 31 met the inclusion criteria. We observed a higher number of studies in the category care plans and workload (n=15), followed by the category evaluation of psychometric properties (n=14). Conclusion Brazilian knowledge production has not yet investigated some purposes of using instruments for classifying patients in professional nursing practice. The identification of unexplored areas can guide future research on the topic

O SIGNIFICADO DA ADMINISTRAÇÃO APLICADA À ENFERMAGEM SEGUNDO A OPINIÃO DE GRADUANDAS

The objective of this study was to know the opinions that the students have, when they begin the course of Administration applied of Nursing. The results indicated that the students considered administration a manner how the nurses are organizing their works and that nursing activity administration is to conciliate the assistence with the bureaucratic service.Este estudo teve por objetivo conhecer as opiniões que as alunas têm, quando chegam para cursar a disciplina Administração aplicada à Enfermagem. Para tanto, coletou-se as opiniões de 30 alunas do 8° semestre do Curso de Graduação da EEUSP. Os resultados mostraram que as alunas consideram a administração como uma forma de organizar o trabalho e que a função administrativa da enfermeira consiste em conciliar a assistência com a burocracia do serviço

A problemática da elaboração da escala mensal de enfermagem La problemática de la elaboración del rol mensual de enfermería Difficulties of preparing the monthly nursing schedule

O objetivo deste estudo foi discutir a complexidade da elaboração da escala mensal de enfermagem no Estágio Curricular de Administração em Enfermagem, em uma unidade de internação de um hospital público de ensino, do Município de São Paulo. Partiu-se da proposição de que a elaboração da escala mensal constituiu-se em uma série de ações articuladas com o reconhecimento do quadro de funcionários, levantamento dos dados necessários para caracterização da clínica, comparação dos dados com a literatura e estruturação de uma proposta de ação, que foram discutidas com as enfermeiras da unidade. Esta vivência possibilitou a reflexão a respeito do empoderamento e compreensão dessas profissionais sobre os fatores intervenientes na realização dessa atividade gerencial. Permitiu, ainda, evidenciar a importância do diagnóstico das necessidades da unidade, confrontando-o com a realidade institucional, visando a possíveis ações resolutivas frente aos problemas identificados<br>El objetivo de este estudio fue discutir la complejidad de la elaboración del rol mensual de enfermería en la Práctica Curricular de Administración en Enfermería, en una unidad de internamiento de un hospital público de enseñanza, del Municipio de Sao Paulo. Esta vivencia posibilitó la reflexión respecto al empoderamiento y comprensión de esas profesionales sobre los factores intervinientes en la realización de esa actividad gerencial. Permitió, aun, evidenciar la importancia del diagnóstico de las necesidades de la unidad, confrontándolo con la realidad institucional, buscando posibles acciones resolutivas frente a los problemas identificados<br>The objective of this study was to discuss the complexity of preparing the monthly nursing schedule during the Nursing Administration course, in an inpatient unit of a public teaching hospital, in São Paulo. We started from the position that the preparation of a monthly schedule consisted of a series of coordinated actions which required: recognition of staff, collection of data needed to characterize the clinical reality, comparison of those data with the literature, and development of a proposal for action, which we would discuss with the nurses in the unit. This experience provided the possibility to reflect on empowerment and the understanding of these professionals about the factors involved in the implementation of this management activity. It allowed us, as well, to demonstrate the importance of diagnosing the needs of the unit and comparing it with the institutional reality, with a view toward possible actions to resolve the identified problem
