    Emerging Issues And Challenges Of Public Health Infrastructure Of Covid-19 In India

    Today Indian health care system is in pathetic condition, its needs radical reforms to deal with new emerging challenges and issues. COVID-19 is spreading really fast around the world. The Indian government facing the problem of lack of resources and infrastructure facilities, there are insufficient number of beds, rooms, ventilators and medicines. Public health is the practice of preventing disease and promoting good health within groups of people, from small communities to entire countries. The countries concentration has been focused on the crucial need for a strong public health infrastructure to protect community health. The current study describes the situation of the outbreakofthispandemicinIndia.The studyalsodiscussestheavailabilityof public health infrastructure facilities in virus infected peoples. Public health organizations at the federal, state, tribal, local are taking steps to increase effectiveness and efficiency through its National Public Health Improvement Initiative (NPHLL), the centers for disease control and prevention supports improvements in 74 state, local and territorial health departments systems, practices, and essential services. COVID pandemic has considerably undermined the accessibility and availability of essential health services. A good health infrastructure also guarantees a country of strong and healthy way to living as well as happy life

    PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF LEONOTIS NEPETIFOLIA (L) R.BR - A SHORT REVIEW

    Leonotis nepetifolia (L) R.Br commonly known as Lion’s ear, has number of therapeutic properties and is also known as Christmas candlestic. The genus Leonotis has 12 species widely distributed in Pan Tropics and is represented by one species, Leonotis nepetifolia in India. It belongs to family Lamiaceae. Leonotis nepetifolia is an economically important medicinal plant of repute in Indian traditional systems of medicine such as Ayurveda, Unani and Siddha. The Ayurvedic name of the plant is Granthiparni, while the trade name is Barchi Buti. It has many therapeutic properties and proved in Madagascar, Brazil, Canada, Kenya and many African Countries to treat diseases, rheumatism, dysmenorrhoea, bronchial asthma, fever, diarrhoea influenza and malaria and is also an analgesic. The decoction of the leaves is used to treat coughs, burns and skin ailments. The whole plant is used for menstrual pain and unspecified female complaints. This plant exhibited various pharmacological activities such as antioxidant activity, antidiabetic, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, anticonvulsant, wound healing, hepatoprotective activity and antimicrobial activities. Phytochemical examination of this plant indicated the presence of alkaloids (leonurine and stachydrene), iridoid glycoside (leonuride), iridoid glycosides (leonurin and leonuridine), diterpenoids (leocardin), flavonoids (rutin, quercetin, hyperoside, apigenin), volatile oil, tannins and vitamin A. Leonotis nepetifolia is highly therapeutic and is used in various Ayurvedic formulations. This article briefly reviews the pharmacological and various therapeutic aspect of Leonotis nepetifolia

    USE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY BY THE MEDICAL STUDENTS

    Background: Usage of information technology   is increasing among university students. The extent of usage among medical students is not studied well. The aim of the study is to assess the usage pattern of information technology by first year and second year medical students of government Kilpauk medical college. Chennai. Method : 200 students of first year and second year students were participated in this study. They were interviewed using pretested questionnaire to bring out the different pattern of the internet use and application knowledge of information technology in medical field. Results: Among 200 students 84% of second years and43% of first years access the internet using their mobile phones .The application knowledge of information technology (IT) is 97% in second year students when compared to first year student45%.Majority of students(97%) prefers computer classes to be included in medical curriculum. Conclusion: The usage of information technology by the second year medical students are increasing when compared to the newly admitted students  and also the purpose of using IT  and knowledge of  IT in medical field  also improving when they are entering second year.     PEFC Electrode with Enhanced Three-Phase Contact and Built-in Supercapacitive Behavior

    Hydrous ruthenium oxide, which exhibits both protonic and electronic conduction, is incorporated in the cathode electrocatalyst layer of the membrane electrode assembly for polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs). The supercapacitive behavior of ruthenium oxide helps realize a fuel cell–supercapacitor hybrid. Platinum (Pt)nanoparticles are deposited onto carbon-supported hydrous ruthenium oxide and the resulting electrocatalyst is subjected to both physical and electrochemical characterization. Powder X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy reflect the hydrous ruthenium oxide to be amorphous and well-dispersed onto the catalyst. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy data confirm that the oxidation state of ruthenium in Pt anchored on carbon-supported hydrous ruthenium oxide is Ru4+. Electrochemical studies, namely cyclic voltammetry, cell polarization, intrinsic proton conductivity, and impedance measurements, suggest that the proton-conducting nature of hydrous ruthenium oxide helps extend the three-phase boundary in the catalyst layer, which facilitates improvement in performance of the PEFC. The aforesaid PEFC operating with hydrogen fuel and oxygen as oxidant shows a higher power density �0.62 W/cm2 @ 0.6 V� in relation to the PEFC comprising carbon-supported Pt electrodes �0.4 W/cm2 @ 0.6 V�. Potential square-wave voltammetry study corroborates that the supercapacitive behavior of hydrous ruthenium oxide helps ameliorate the pulse-power output of the fuel cell
