General matter coupled N=2, D=5 gauged supergravity
We give the full lagrangean and supersymmetry transformation rules for D=5,
N=2 supergravity interacting with an arbitrary number of vector, tensor and
hyper-multiplets, with gauging of the R-symmetry group SU(2)_R as well as a
subgroup K of the isometries of the scalar manifold. Among the many possible
applications, this theory provides the setting where a supersymmetric
brane-world scenario could occur. We comment on the presence of AdS vacua and
BPS solutions that would be relevant towards a supersymmetric smooth
realization of the Randall-Sundrum "alternative to compactification". We also
add some remarks on the connection between this most general 5D fully coupled
supergravity model and type IIB theory on the T^{11} manifold.Comment: 29+1 pages, LaTeX. References added, minor corrections, final version

Evidence for a family of SO(8) gauged supergravity theories
In this note we discuss the classification of duality orbits of N = 8 gauged
supergravity models. Using tensor classifiers, we show that there is a
one-parameter family of inequivalent SO(8) gauged supergravity theories. We
briefly discuss the couplings of such models and show that, although the
maximally symmetric vacuum has the same quadratic spectrum, the supersymmetry
transformations, the couplings and the scalar potential are parameter
dependent. We also comment on the possible M-theory uplift and on the meaning
of the parameter for the dual gauge theories.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figures. v2: improved presentation. References fixe
Interactions of N Goldstini in Superspace
We study field theories with N extended non-linearly realized
supersymmetries, describing the couplings of models that contain N goldstini.
We review all the known formulations of the N=1 goldstino theories and we
generalize them to an arbitrary number N of non-linearly realized
supersymmetries. We explicitly prove the equivalence of all these extended
supersymmetry breaking models containing N goldstini and reformulate the theory
with N supersymmetries in terms of standard N=1 constrained superfields.Comment: 29 pages, 1 table. v2: published version. Title changed, a reference

On the origin of constrained superfields
In this work we analyze constrained superfields in supersymmetry and
supergravity. We propose a constraint that, in combination with the constrained
goldstino multiplet, consistently removes any selected component from a generic
superfield. We also describe its origin, providing the operators whose
equations of motion lead to the decoupling of such components. We illustrate
our proposal by means of various examples and show how known constraints can be
reproduced by our method.Comment: 20 pages, to be published in JHE
Type IIB supergravity compactified on a Calabi-Yau manifold with H-fluxes
We discuss the compactification of type IIB supergravity on a Calabi-Yau manifold in the presence of both RR and NS fluxes for the three-form fields. We obtain the classical potential both by direct compactification and by using the techniques of N=2 gauged supergravity in four-dimensions. We briefly discuss the properties of such potential and compare the result with previous derivations
BPS Action and Superpotential for Heterotic String Compactifications with Fluxes
We consider N =1 compactifications to four dimensions of heterotic string
theory in the presence of fluxes. We show that up to order O(\alpha'^2) the
associated action can be written as a sum of squares of BPS-like quantities. In
this way we prove that the equations of motion are solved by backgrounds which
fulfill the supersymmetry conditions and the Bianchi identities. We also argue
for the expression of the related superpotential and discuss the radial modulus
stabilization for a class of examples.Comment: LaTeX, 28 pages. Minor changes, one more reference added. Final

String Vacua and Moduli Stabilazition
We give a very basic introduction to the classification of string vacua in the presence of fluxes as well as to the related moduli stabilization problem in the corresponding 4-dimensional effective theories
Heterotic String Theory on non-Kaehler Manifolds with H-Flux and Gaugino Condensate
We discuss compactifications of heterotic string theory to four dimensions in
the presence of H-fluxes, which deform the geometry of the internal manifold,
and a gaugino condensate which breaks supersymmetry. We focus on the
compensation of the two effects in order to obtain vacua with zero cosmological
constant and we comment on the effective superpotential describing these vacua.Comment: 6 page
Supergravity Predictions on Conformal Field Theories
We give an update on recent results about the matching between CFT operators
and KK states in the AdS/CFT correspondence, and add some new comments on the
realization of the baryonic symmetries from the supergravity point of view.Comment: 8 pages, uses JHEP.cls, Contribution to the proceedings of the TMR

M Theory on the Stiefel manifold and 3d Conformal Field Theories
We compute the mass and multiplet spectrum of M theory compactified on the
product of AdS(4) spacetime by the Stiefel manifold V(5,2)=SO(5)/SO(3), and we
use this information to deduce via the AdS/CFT map the primary operator content
of the boundary N=2 conformal field theory. We make an attempt for a candidate
supersymmetric gauge theory that, at strong coupling, should be related to
parallel M2-branes on the singular point of the non-compact Calabi-Yau
four-fold , describing the cone on V(5,2).Comment: Latex, 28 page
