Strengthening the Christian presence in the Holy Land through the implementation of a strategic planning programme

    Get PDF
This thesis focuses on strengthening the Christian presence in the Holy Land that has been in existence for more than 2,000 years. The Christian presence there is not only about maintaining and preserving the holy shrines related to Christianity. It is also about maintaining and preserving the local Christian congregations and the Christian communities located in Palestine and Israel. These groups have had a series of challenges resulting in a critical decline in the Christian population. The research presented here applies a SWOT analysis to the history, current reality of the Christian presence in the Holy Land and the challenges that influence its future. The benefit of using this approach allows for a concrete analysis of the problems that face the Christian community from the Palestinian-Israel conflict, economic instability, social problems, and the Christian cultural predicament, identified from the literature. The outcome of the analysis is translated into strategic solutions and actions that can be incorporated in programmes and projects to be implemented within, and by, the local Christian communities. These strategic solutions aim to revitalise the indigenous Christian presence in Palestine and Israel and encourage the development of their social, political, and cultural existence, with the hope of obtaining justice, peace and reconciliation

Pemodelan Sistem Fuzzy dengan Menggunakan Matlab

Fuzzy logic is a method in soft computing category, a method that could process uncertain, inaccurate, and less cost implemented data. Some methods in soft computing category besides fuzzy logic are artificial network nerve, probabilistic reasoning, and evolutionary computing. Fuzzy logic has the ability to develop fuzzy system that is intelligent system in uncertain environment. Some stages in fuzzy system formation process is input and output analysis, determining input and output variable, defining each fuzzy set member function, determining rules based on experience or knowledge of an expert in his field, and implementing fuzzy system. Overall, fuzzy logic uses simple mathematical concept, understandable, detectable uncertain and accurate data. Fuzzy system could create and apply expert experiences directly without exercise process and effort to decode the knowledge into a computer until becoming a modeling system that could be relied on decision making

Hubungan Komponen Sistem Pengendalian Manajemen (Quality Goal, Quality Feedback, dan Quality Incentive) terhadap Kinerja Kualitas dan Konsekuensi terhadap Kinerja Keuangan1

This research aims to give empirical evidence about relationship management control system components with quality performance, and relationship quality performance with customer satisfaction and financial performance, and relationship customer satisfaction with financial performance. Data are collected via electronic mail survey from Indonesian manufacturings. Data analysis use by path analysis. The result indicates that the managers must consider quality goal, quality feedback, and quality incentive that positively increased quality performance of product, although relation for quality goal is not significant. Quality performance is positively associated with customer satisfaction. Furthemore, quality performance as non-financial measure is not significant positively associated with financial performance, and high rate of customer satisfaction is positively associated with financial performance

Ultra-Stretchable Interconnects for High-Density Stretchable Electronics

The exciting field of stretchable electronics (SE) promises numerous novel applications, particularly in-body and medical diagnostics devices. However, future advanced SE miniature devices will require high-density, extremely stretchable interconnects with micron-scale footprints, which calls for proven standardized (complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS)-type) process recipes using bulk integrated circuit (IC) microfabrication tools and fine-pitch photolithography patterning. Here, we address this combined challenge of microfabrication with extreme stretchability for high-density SE devices by introducing CMOS-enabled, free-standing, miniaturized interconnect structures that fully exploit their 3D kinematic freedom through an interplay of buckling, torsion, and bending to maximize stretchability. Integration with standard CMOS-type batch processing is assured by utilizing the Flex-to-Rigid (F2R) post-processing technology to make the back-end-of-line interconnect structures free-standing, thus enabling the routine microfabrication of highly-stretchable interconnects. The performance and reproducibility of these free-standing structures is promising: an elastic stretch beyond 2000% and ultimate (plastic) stretch beyond 3000%, with 10 million cycles at 1000% stretch with <1% resistance change. This generic technology provides a new route to exciting highly-stretchable miniature devices.Comment: 13 pages, 5 figure, journal publicatio

An Analysis of the Skype Peer-to-Peer Internet Telephony Protocol

    Get PDF
Skype is a peer-to-peer VoIP client developed by KaZaa in 2003. Skype claims that it can work almost seamlessly across NATs and firewalls and has better voice quality than the MSN and Yahoo IM applications. It encrypts calls end-to-end, and stores user information in a decentralized fashion. Skype also supports instant messaging and conferencing. This report analyzes key Skype functions such as login, NAT and firewall traversal, call establishment, media transfer, codecs, and conferencing under three different network setups. Analysis is performed by careful study of Skype network traffic

Developing and embedding a BIM curriculum in build environment courses: the RGU experience.

Among the ambitions regarding BIM uptake across the built environment sector in the UK and arguably beyond may be tempered by a realpolitik shaped in part by interactions between Higher Education (HE) and professional practice. In September 2013, Education for the Built Environment (E4BE) was constituted as a strategic UK industry group by the Construction Industry Council (CIC) and Construction Industry Training Board (CITB). E4BE's strategic remit was to encourage professional institutions to extend their engagement with HE in collaboration with other stakeholders to add value to Higher Education's contribution to industry. The BIM Academic Forum (BAF) comprises around 50 faculty members from UK universities and was formed to promote academic aspects of BIM, in particular, a 'BIM Academic Framework'. (HEA, 2013) BAF's articulated vision was to embed BIM learning within undergraduate and postgraduate Higher Education. BAF published an academic framework indexing BIM skills, knowledge, competencies and capabilities together with learning outcomes for BSc and MSc education levels in the UK. In 2014/15 this framework, combined with research on international BIM curricula development, was used to develop a strategy to integrate collaborative BIM in the curriculum of all BE courses at RGU to be implemented over a 4 year degree cycle. This paper focuses on 4 key areas, namely: - Presenting the BIM curriculum strategy, its rationale within the context of 4 professional accredited programs - The implementation strategy of this curriculum to date and lessons being learned - Reporting on 2 multidisciplinary collaborative BIM projects including feedback from tutors and students - Presenting the outcomes of a survey conducted as part these 2 multidisciplinary projects focused on multidisciplinary collaborative working through BIM

Bitcoin and the World of Digital Currencies

A peer-to-peer system of blockchain, originally started for a cryptocurrency Bitcoin, has caused major disruptions in the stock market. It has affected many businesses if not all, but its significance in the financial world is magnanimous. Historical data (daily rates) for the past 23 months are analyzed to understand the market size, market capitalization and price volatility for Bitcoin. Time series data and financial model are applied to realize the shocks. Monte Carlo simulation is applied to assess the dynamic structure of Bitcoin. With greater volume and activity, the banks and financial intermediaries may become outdated, and the middleman will have no place. It seems like a distant thought, but the facts are pointing toward its reality
