Factors to be considered are: (1) installation and maintenance costs; (2) need for repairs and projected life; (3) utilization of the track; (4) satisfaction with track surface; and (5) evaluation of tracks

Online Transactions: Innovative Opportunities and Strategies

Many companies that have physical channels now also do transactions with consumers online. However, a large part of these companies do not succeed online even if they succeed offline. The literature of explaining and giving advice on such an important challenge is growing, but is still limited.This paper contributes to this field. In this paper eight strategic opportunities are identified when traditional companies go online. These opportunities are based on personal interviews of general managers who have strategic responsibility for implementing the companies’ online channel. While most papers focus on the important role of IT to succeed, the unique findings reported in this paper show that cultural and organizational factors are of higher importance. The paper spells out in detail the content of such factors. In an empirical part at the end of the paper data indicates that the focus on cultural and organizational factors do give higher conversion rates and online sales

En oppgave om plateselskapenes nåsituasjon og veien videre

Jeg har med denne oppgaven prøvd å kartlegge platebransjens nåværende tilstand, mellom sluttfasen av fysisk format og startfasen av streamingmarkedet. Dette i form av økonomisk tilstand, innstilling og tanker om fremtiden. Dette har jeg gjort gjennom 3 hypoteser som jeg har besvart ved hjelp av 11 informanter hovedsakelig fra små og store plateselskaper. Jeg har kommet fram til at den verste økonomiske perioden for plateselskapene etter CD-salgets nedgang snart er forbi, da streaming og digital nedlastning (lovlig) begynner å generere betydelig med inntekter. Samtidig er innstillingen til framtiden lys og det nye formatet både krever og inspirerer til en kreativ fremgangsmåte. Abstract Title: Norwegian record industry in the phase between fysical sales and streaming. A thesis on the record companie’s current situation and way forward In this thesis I sought to identify the record industry’s current condition in the age between physical sales and streaming services. To reach this goal, I have used a qualitative method by interviewing 11 executives from major- and independent record labels who could tell me about the Norwegian industry’s economy and ambitions for the future. I have come to the conclusion that the economical situation is improving again after the loss of CD-sales, and that the reason for this is that so many consumers now use streaming services and legal digital downloads. The ambition for the future is positive and the new format both requires and inspires a creative approach

Fangst av krill og torsk (Gadus morhua) ved bruk av lys; effekt av lyskildens egenskaper.

Krillens adferd rundt lys er lite studert i felt, men er viktig med tanke på utviklingen innen teinefiske etter fisk (Torsk, Gadus morhua), da det brukes lys for å tiltrekke levende bytte og motivere fisken til å gå i teina. Her blir krillens tiltrekning til ulike lyskvaliteter studert, og dens adferd rundt lyset observert med in situ videoopptak. Grønt, blått og hvitt lys ble sammenlignet i ulike intensiteter ved bruk av lysfeller, på to ulike lokasjoner; Smørdal i Masfjord og Ramfjord i Troms. Høy intensitet ga høyest fangstrate begge steder for alle bølgelengder, mens blått lys med høy intensitet ga høyest fangst av bølgelengdene. Krillen hadde en tendens til å komme først til lysfellene, men så deretter trekke seg unna. Annet makroplankton og fisk fortsetter å nærme seg lyset etter at krillen har trukket seg unna. Med tanke på å tiltrekke fisk til teinene ved bruk av levende bytte er resultatene i dette studiet viktig for videre utvikling av effektive lyskvaliteter.Masteroppgåve i biologiMAMN-BIOBIO39

Prison Chaplaincy from a Scandinavian Perspective

The Lutheran churches of Denmark and Norway retain strong ties to the State and the Lutheran prison chaplaincy exists within the framework of the State churches in similar ways in both countries. The situation of Muslim chaplaincies is however very different in the two countries. In Denmark where general policies are not multicultural and where the relationship between State and church remains strong, the prison service has several prison imams employed and plans are to increase this further. In Norway where the relationship between church and State are moving towards a looser relationship and support for multicultural policies are stronger there are no Muslim prison chaplains.Les Églises luthériennes du Danemark et de la Norvège sont fortement liées avec leur État respectif et les aumôneries de prison sont organisées de manière similaire au sein des Églises d'État des deux pays. En revanche, la situation de l'assistance spirituelle musulmane est très différente dans les deux États. Au Danemark – où les politiques publiques générales ne sont pas multiculturelles et où les relations Église-État demeurent étroites – les services pénitentiaires emploient plusieurs imams en tant qu'aumôniers de prison et prévoient d'en engager davantage. En Norvège, où l'Église et l'État se dirigent vers une relation plus souple et où le soutien aux politiques multiculturelles est plus fort, il n'y a pas d'aumôniers de prison musulmans.Las iglesias luteranas de Dinamarca y de Noruega están fuertemente ligadas a su Estado en cada país y las capellanías de prisión se organizan de manera similar en el seno de las iglesias de Estado de sus países. Por el contrario, la situación de la asistencia espiritual musulmana es muy diferente en los dos estados. En Dinamarca –donde las políticas públicas generales no son multiculturales y donde las relaciones Iglesia- Estado siguen siendo estrechas- los servicios penitenciaros emplean a varios imanes en tanto que capellanes de la prisión y prevén incluso emplear aún más. En Noruega, donde la Iglesia y el Estado se dirigen hacia una relación más flexible y donde el sostén a las políticas multiculturales es más fuerte, no hay capellanes de prisión musulmanes
