DomĂ€nenĂŒbergreifende Simulation basierend auf BPMN und dem prozessgesteuerten Ansatz
Simulation tools are currently facing two significant challenges: On the one hand, common applications are often focussed on a specific domain, which leads to a high synchronisation and integration effort in the investigation of cross-domain issues. On the other hand, the transition from simulated models to operations monitoring and continuous improvement requires a high further development effort or even a completely new implementation with other technologies. This paper aims to present a novel one-size-fits-all approach based on the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) standard and the Process-Driven Approach (PDA) for creating and executing process models for discrete event simulation. It combines the BPMNâs potential to graphically represent any processes in arbitrary precision with those of PDA to sustainably integrate services, databases and tools via low-code. By means of two exemplary case studies, we would like to illustrate its practical implementation and potentials and challenge the scientific discourse
Graph-based Active Learning for Entity Cluster Repair
Cluster repair methods aim to determine errors in clusters and modify them so
that each cluster consists of records representing the same entity. Current
cluster repair methodologies primarily assume duplicate-free data sources,
where each record from one source corresponds to a unique record from another.
However, real-world data often deviates from this assumption due to quality
issues. Recent approaches apply clustering methods in combination with link
categorization methods so they can be applied to data sources with duplicates.
Nevertheless, the results do not show a clear picture since the quality highly
varies depending on the configuration and dataset. In this study, we introduce
a novel approach for cluster repair that utilizes graph metrics derived from
the underlying similarity graphs. These metrics are pivotal in constructing a
classification model to distinguish between correct and incorrect edges. To
address the challenge of limited training data, we integrate an active learning
mechanism tailored to cluster-specific attributes. The evaluation shows that
the method outperforms existing cluster repair methods without distinguishing
between duplicate-free or dirty data sources. Notably, our modified active
learning strategy exhibits enhanced performance when dealing with datasets
containing duplicates, showcasing its effectiveness in such scenarios
Theoretical adequacy, methodological quality and efficacy of online interventions targeting resilience: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Background
There is a growing interest in the promotion of mental health, and concepts as resilience are re-emerging and taking relevance. In addition, Information and Communication Technologies can provide potential benefits in the field of mental health, and the treatment of mental disorders in particular. This study aims to synthesize the evidence of internet-based resilience interventions, analyzing the theoretical adequacy, methodological quality and efficacy.
Methods
A systematic search was performed. The eligibility criteria stated for this article were: randomized controlled trials targeted at adults or adolescents and including any psychological intervention focussing on resilience in its rationale or design. Studies with direct (e.g. resilience scales) and proximal resilience measures (e.g. scales on well-being) were included. Risk of bias was assessed for each trial using Cochraneâs Collaboration Tool. Two reviewers worked independently in order to identify potential articles. A total of 11 articles were selected. A random-effects pooling model using the HartungâKnappâSidikâJonkman method based on direct and proximal resilience measures at post-test was used.
Results
The overall effects of online resilience training compared to control groups at post-test were not significant; the effect size concerning the improvement of resilience was g=0.12 (95% CI: â0.14 to 0.38). In addition, a potential association between the type of outcome and the effect size could be revealed.
Conclusions
The results of the present meta-analysis showed that the overall effect of online resilience trainings was not significant. Nonetheless, a tendency for a higher benefit for resilience was found in the studies with a clear assessment theory, indicating some promising effects
General features of inhibition in the inner retina
Visual processing starts in the retina. Within only two synaptic layers, a large number of parallel information channels emerge, each encoding a highly processed feature like edges or the direction of motion. Much of this functional diversity arises in the inner plexiform layer, where inhibitory amacrine cells modulate the excitatory signal of bipolar and ganglion cells. Studies investigating individual amacrine cell circuits like the starburst or A17 circuit have demonstrated that single types can possess specific morphological and functional adaptations to convey a particular function in one or a small number of inner retinal circuits. However, the
interconnected and often stereotypical network formed by different types of amacrine cells across the inner plexiform layer prompts that they should be also involved in more general computations. In line with this notion, different recent studies systematically analysing inner retinal signalling at a population level provide evidence that general functions of the ensemble of amacrine cells
across types are critical for establishing universal principles of retinal computation like parallel processing or motion anticipation. Combining recent advances in the development of indicators for imaging inhibition with large-scale morphological and genetic classifications will help to further our understanding of how single amacrine cell circuits act together to help decompose the visual scene into parallel information channels. In this review, we aim to summarise the current
state-of-the-art in our understanding of how general features of amacrine cell inhibition lead to general features of computation

Perceived Mobility Need Satisfaction (PMNS) Scale - german
The Perceived Mobility Need Satisfaction (PMNS) scale is a psychometric instrument that can be used to assess the perception of need satisfaction through a mobility resource. The scale was developed based on the scientific work of Sheldon et al. (2001) and aims to measure seven key components of mobility need satisfaction: Autonomy, competence, relatedness, safety, money, physical well-being and pleasure. By assessing these dimensions, the PMNS scale provides insight into how individuals perceive their experience of mobility in different contexts, such as on-demand ridepooling. Focusing on individual experiences and psychological needs, the PMNS scale provides a tool for researchers and practitioners who want to understand and improve people's mobility experiences and promote positive transportation behaviors
