    Experiências e expectativas de enfermeiros no cuidado ao doador de órgãos e à sua família

    RESUMO Objetivo Compreender as experiências e expectativas dos enfermeiros de unidades de terapia intensiva no cuidado ao doador de órgãos para transplantes e à sua família. Método Pesquisa qualitativa, com abordagem da Fenomenologia Social realizada em 2013, com 20 enfermeiros. Resultados As experiências dos enfermeiros com as famílias dos doadores foram representadas pelas categorias: obstáculos vivenciados e intervenções realizadas no cuidado às famílias dos doadores. As expectativas desses profissionais na assistência às famílias e aos doadores de órgãos foram descritas pela categoria: cuidar para salvar vidas. Conclusão O estudo mostrou que o cotidiano dos enfermeiros de terapia intensiva no cuidado às famílias e aos doadores de órgãos é permeado por obstáculos que interferem no processo de doação. Diante desse cenário têm como expectativas oferecer uma assistência intensiva ao doador falecido e um cuidado humanizado às famílias, intencionando possibilitar a aceitação da doação de órgãos pelos familiares e viabilizar órgãos para transplantes

    Catalytic C(sp3)-H bond activation in tertiary alkylamines.

    The development of robust catalytic methods to assemble tertiary alkylamines provides a continual challenge to chemical synthesis. In this regard, transformation of a traditionally unreactive C-H bond, proximal to the nitrogen atom, into a versatile chemical entity would be a powerful strategy for introducing functional complexity to tertiary alkylamines. A practical and selective metal-catalysed C(sp3)-H activation facilitated by the tertiary alkylamine functionality, however, remains an unsolved problem. Here, we report a Pd(II)-catalysed protocol that appends arene feedstocks to tertiary alkylamines via C(sp3)-H functionalization. A simple ligand for Pd(II) orchestrates the C-H activation step in favour of deleterious pathways. The reaction can use both simple and complex starting materials to produce a range of multifaceted γ-aryl tertiary alkylamines and can be rendered enantioselective. The enabling features of this transformation should be attractive to practitioners of synthetic and medicinal chemistry as well as in other areas that use biologically active alkylamines

    The Ordovician-Silurian boundary beds between Saaremaa and Gotland, Baltic Sea, based on high resolution seismic data

    New seismic profiles have been used to revise earlier interpretations of the Ordovician-Silurian bound ary beds be tween Saaremaa and Gotland. Atrans-Baltic reflector with erosional fea ures (S2) above the erosional Ordo vician-Silurian boundary reflector (S1) correlates with the bound ary between the Raikküla and Adavere stages. The sporadic reflector or2 below the S1 reflector off shore from Gotland represents the erosional boundary between the Pirgu and Porkuni stages. Three stratigraphic gaps occur in the Ordovician-Silurian boundary beds off shore from Gotland. The amount of eroded rocks between the Pirgu and Porkuni stages, the Ordovician and Silurian systems and the Raikküla and Adavere stages can change rapidly. Consequently, the thick ness and stratigraphy of the Ordovician-Silurian boundary beds around Gotland can change considerably across short distances. The O4-5-S1 unit off shore from Gotland, including carbonate build ups and erosional incisions infilled with Porkuni strata, belongs facially to the transi ional belt between the Estonian Shelf and the Livonian Tongue. The thick ness changes in the S1-S2 unit (Juuru and Raikküla stages) indicate an extensive subma rine erosional channel, streching from north of Estonia across the Baltic Sea and central Gotland, which developed in the Baltic Basin along a shelf to deep-basin transect dur ng Llandovery time

    A comparative analysis of two Early Palaeozoic marine impact structures in Estonia, Baltic Sea: Neugrund and Kärdla

    Kärdla and Neugrund are two Early Palaeozoic offshore impact structures located some 50 km apart along the Estonian coast of the Baltic Sea. They share many similarities but differing features are also found. The Kärdla impact structure is located at the NE coast of Hiiumaa Island (58°58’N, 22°46’E). The inner crater has a 4 km rim-to-rim diameter and a c. 130 m high central uplift, surrounded by a ring fault, c. 12 km in diameter. The well-preserved buried inner crater is outlined in the landscape by a circular ridge of uplifted bedrock. The perimeter of the outer crater is outlined on the seafloor by a semicircular ridge of narrow shoals. The variable height of the rim wall (50–240 m above the crystalline basement level) and the asymmetric location of the inner crater is obviously a result of an oblique impact in a layered target and partial collapse of the rim wall. Shortly after the impact in a shallow epicontinental sea during Late Ordovician time (c. 455 My), calcareous biodetritic muds were deposited and the crater was buried. The Neugrund impact structure is located in the seabed at the entrance of the Gulf of Finland (59°20’N, 23°31’E). The inner crater has a 7 km rim-to-rim diameter and the outer limit of the structure passes through the Osmussaar Island to the southwest of the impact centre. The crater was buried in a shallow epicontinental sea with siliciclastic deposition shortly after the impact at Early Cambrian time, c. 535 My. It was partially re-exposed by erosion during Pliocene. The target had a three-layered composition: Precambrian metamorphic rocks covered by Ediacaran and Early Cambrian siliciclastic rocks (c. 150 m) and water (c. 100 m). The structure has been studied with seismoacoustic and sidescan sonar profiling, and by diving and sampling of submarine outcrops. Several hundred samples of impact breccias have been collected and investigated from erratic boulders distributed by glacial action in the west Estonian mainland, islands and sea floor
