Bioethics and Palliative Care in Primary Health Care

In order to respect the patient’s right to die at home, with quality and respect, discussions about bioethical problems involving palliative care in the context of primary health care are relevant. Among bioethical problems, communication problems regarding the diagnosis and treatment, the maintenance or discontinuation of futile treatments, the adoption of aggressive and lifelong measures by the emergency mobile service, and the problems involving equal access to care stand out. It is important to emphasize that health systems must incorporate palliative measures in primary care and enable professionals to provide this type of care

CONTAMINAÇÃO PARASITÁRIA EM HORTALIÇAS: UMA REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA

Atualmente os indivíduos buscam alimentos saudáveis não só para evitar doenças crônicas ou outras enfermidades, mas também por uma questão estética, pois é observado que muitas pessoas valorizam a beleza e o corpo através de um cuidado nutricional. No entanto, o cuidado com a higienização de alimentos consumidos in natura deve ter uma atenção especial, tanto no preparo doméstico, quanto na aquisição de produtos minimamente processados. Objetivos: Analisar a prevalência de parasitas nas hortaliças selecionadas como a alface, coentro, cenoura e tomate consumido no Brasil e no mundo por meio de revisão sistemática. Métodos: Foi realizada uma pesquisa em base de dados como Pubmed, Science direct, Scielo, Lilacs e mecanismos de busca como Bireme e Google acadêmico utilizando combinações de palavras-chaves: “Parasites”, “vegetables” “Vegetables and season”, “Marketed vegetables”, “Markets”, “contamination”, and “Prevalence of parasites in vegetables”. Foram pesquisados artigos científicos publicados nos anos de janeiro de 2010 a junho de 2020. Resultados: A hortaliça que mais apresentou contaminação foi a alface (28,98%), sendo que o parasita mais prevalente foi o helminto Strongyloides stercoralis (42,84%), Ascaris lumbricoides (38,82%), Ancilostomídeos (19,68%) e o protozoário Entamoeba coli (13,12%), a metodologia mais aplicada foi a sedimentação espontânea. Conclusão: Parasitas considerados relevantes para a saúde humana foram encontrados com frequência em diversos estudos em todo o mundo. É necessário que tanto os manipuladores como a população tenham conscientização sobre a correta higienização dos alimentos consumidos in natura, assim como os meios de profilaxia contra as doenças parasitárias intestinais

Palliative Care Network in Brazil

Brazil is a country with great diversity and distinct realities, so there is a proportional challenge and complexity in offering a unified and integrated system which is accessible, of quality, and effective. Population aging and the increased incidence of chronic-degenerative noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) increase the need for palliative care (PC); however, public policies still need to be implemented so that this care encompasses adequate funding, professional training, and guaranteed medication. The first national policy for PC was recently proposed, providing guidelines for the organization of PC, emphasizing the importance of integration between the different levels of care and services in the Brazilian health system (SUS). Nevertheless, the challenges of this policy include the training of professionals, communication in the network, the absence of integrated health information systems, and effective mechanisms to finance this new modality of care

Patient satisfaction with anterior interim CAD-CAM rehabilitations designed by CAD technician versus trained dentist : a clinical preliminary study

The objective of this study was to assess the impact of digital waxing expertise on patient satisfaction with anterior interim computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) prosthetic rehabilitations designed either by a CAD and dental technician or by a dental clinician with basic CAD-CAM training. This in vivo preliminary study was conducted on a total of 18 patients receiving anterior CAD-CAM rehabilitations (at least from canine to canine) with fixed bridges and/or single crowns. Only patients that had conventional chairside temporary restorations were enrolled. Three within-patient groups were defined at different time points: group CONTROL refers to all 18 patients at their first appointment, when they were using their initial temporary conventional prostheses; group DENT refers to all patients immediately after trying in a set of CAD-CAM prostheses designed by a dental clinician (with basic one-week CAD-CAM training); and group CAD refers to all patients after trying in a set of CAD-CAM prostheses for the same tooth elements but designed by an experienced CAD technician (who was also an experienced dental prosthetic technician). All CAD-CAM restorations were milled in polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) with high translucency and strength properties (Prime, Zirkonzahn). Satisfaction with comfort and esthetics was assessed for all patients for the three different time points (groups CONTROL, DENT and CAD). Statistically significant differences among groups were assessed with the Friedmann’s test. Group CAD significantly outperformed the other groups in both assessed variables (p = 0.001). The group DENT, in turn, outperformed group CONTROL for satisfaction with esthetics (p = 0.006) but not for comfort (p > 0.05). In conclusion, CAD operator background and expertise level significantly affect patient self-reported outcomes for anterior CAD-CAM rehabilitations. Single crowns and fixed bridges digitally designed by an experienced professional trained in both CAD-CAM and dental technology will likely offer high satisfaction and comfort to patients receiving anterior prosthetic rehabilitations.peer-reviewe

TNF-alpha expression, evaluation of collagen, and TUNEL of Matricaria recutita L. extract and triamcinolone on oral ulcer in diabetic rats

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a disease associated with delayed wound healing of oral ulcers by increased expression of proinflammatory cytokines and cellular apoptosis. Objective to evaluate the influence of Tumor Necrosis Factor alpha (TNF-α) and apoptosis in rats with DM treated with chamomile extract or triamcinolone. Material and Methods Wistar male rats (210.0±4.2 g) were divided into five groups: negative control group (NCG) without diabetes; positive control group (PCG) with DM (alloxan, 45 mg/kg); and groups treated with chamomile extract (normoglycemic= NCG group and diabetic= DCG group) and with triamcinolone (TG). Traumatic ulcers were performed on all animals that received topical triamcinolone, chamomile extract or saline 12/12 hours for ten days. Relato de experiência no estágio supervisionado I no ensino infantil

This scientific work prioritized to describe the healthy practices within the discipline of Supervised Internship One, in Early Childhood Education, that took place in the Dolores Lustosa Educational Center. Having these experiences in the field of action based on the interest in knowing the reality of a certain space that contemplates the professional of Physical Education by law. The objective of this study was to provide a reflection on healthy practices within the Supervised Internship One in Physical Education Degree in early childhood education and to open discussions on the observation, coparticipation and supervised teaching processes carried out during Supervised Internship One, aiming at the integral development of the child. The methodology used in this study was to action research. The qualitative treatment of the findings was chosen as a means of approaching the object of study, through participant observation of two classes of children IV, "B" and "D". During the classes proposed were used recreational activities, appropriate to the age range of children, selected according to a healthy proposal of stimuli to basic motor skills, the interaction needs and participation of the students. At the end of the research it is noticed in the children, an evolution in such aspects as participation, interaction and a significant contribution in the socialization process.Este trabajo científico priorizó describir las prácticas saludables dentro de la disciplina de Etapa Supervisionada I, en la Educación Infantil, que ocurrieron en el Centro Educativo Dolores Lustosa. Con estas vivencias en el campo de actuación pautado en el interés en conocer la realidad de un determinado espacio que contempla al profesional de Educación Física por ley. Este trabajo tuvo como objetivo proporcionar una reflexión sobre lo que rige las prácticas saludables dentro de la Etapa Supervisionado I en Educación Física Licenciatura en la enseñanza infantil y abrir discusiones sobre los procesos de observación, coparticipación y docencia supervisada, realizadas durante la Etapa Supervisada I, visando El desarrollo integral del niño. La metodología utilizada en este estudio fue la investigación-acción. Se optó por el tratamiento de los hallazgos de forma cualitativa como medio de aproximación del objeto de estudio, a través de observación participante de dos clases del infantil IV, "B" y "D". Durante las clases propuestas se utilizaron actividades lúdicas y recreativas, adecuadas al grupo de edad de los niños, seleccionados según una propuesta sana de estímulos a las habilidades motoras básicas, las necesidades de interacción y participación de los alumnos. Al término de la investigación se percibe en los niños, una evolución en tales aspectos como en la participación, interacción y una contribución significativa en el proceso de socialización.Este trabalho científico priorizou descrever as práticas saudáveis dentro da disciplina de Estágio Supervisionado I, na Educação Infantil, que ocorreram no Centro Educacional Dolores Lustosa. Relato de experiência: reflexões sobre o papel do profissional de educação física no âmbito das deficiências múltiplas

This scientific work privileged to report the inclusive practices of the discipline: Physical Education for People with Disabilities. The welcoming actions were carried out in the Association of Parents and Exceptional Children - APAE. These experiences are effective in the field of action based on the interest in understanding the role of the Physical Education Professional within the scope of multiple deficiencies. This paper aims to describe the interactive activities with people with multiple disabilities in APAE through the discipline Physical Education for People with Disabilities. The methodology used by the study was to action research, with the purpose of producing information and knowledge of in-depth use, including at the pedagogical level, which promotes conditions for actions and transformations of situations within the institution itself to care for exceptional people. Therefore, it was discussed how much any professional wants to be seen with a formative constituent deferenced in their field of activity, and with the Professional of Physical Education is not very deferent, most of the times one is aware of the range of benefits that the profession can To provide in the different practices, but which still raises doubts as to its concrete legitimacy in the progress of the individual. It is concluded that it is imperative that the Physical Education Professional occupy this space.Trabajo científico privilegió relatar las prácticas inclusivas de la disciplina: Educación Física para Personas con discapacidad. Las acciones acogedora se realizaron en la Asociación de Padres e Hijos Excepcionales - APAE. Siendo efectivizadas esas vivencias en el campo de actuación pautado en el interés en comprender el papel del Profesional de Educación Física en el ámbito de las deficiencias múltiples. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo describir las actividades interactivas con las personas portadoras de deficiencias múltiples en la APAE através de la disciplina Educación Física para las Personas con discapacidad. La metodología utilizada por el estudio fue la investigación-acción, teniendo como propósito producir informaciones y conocimientos de uso profundizado, incluso al nivel pedagógico, que promueve condiciones para acciones y transformaciones de situaciones dentro de la propia institución de atención a las personas excepcionales. Por lo tanto se discutió cuánto cualquier profesional quiere ser visto con un constituyente formativo deferenciado en su campo de actuación, y con el Profissonal de Educación Física no es muy deferente, la mayoría de las veces se tiene la conciencia de la gama de beneficios que la profesión puede En las prácticas diferentes, pero que todavía encara desafíos en cuanto a su legitimidad concreta en el progreso del individuo. A metodologia utilizada pelo estudo foi à pesquisa-ação, tendo como propósito produzir informações e conhecimentos de uso aprofundado, inclusive ao nível pedagógico, que promove condições para ações e transformações de situações dentro da própria instituição de atendimento às pessoas excepcionais. Cloth masks in public places: an essential intervention to prevent COVID-19 in Brazil.

There is increasing evidence that the use of masks is an indispensable protective measure against COVID-19, given the high transmissibility of the new coronavirus through the respiratory system, including by asymptomatic individuals. The use of cloth masks in public places has been established as a protective measure to be adopted alongside social distancing and hand hygiene. This narrative review aims to systematize the scientific evidence that informs the widespread use of cloth masks as a preventive measure against COVID-19 and to describe the evolution of positions contrary to or in favor of its use outside the home, in view of the advance of the new coronavirus pandemic globally. The scientific articles, technical notes, governmental decrees and other documents analyzed indicate that widespread use of masks has the potential to reduce the spread of the new coronavirus. We recommend that the Brazilian government adopt strategies to increase the supply of reusable cloth masks to the public, especially to vulnerable populations and to support studies on the impact of this measure to control the pandemic in the country. Finally, it is imperative to ensure that use of masks does not exacerbate stigmatization of racial groups that already face prejudice

Desejo e culpa: a sedução diabólica em Eça de Queiroz

O presente texto pretende, a partir de visita à obra clássica de Eça de Queiroz (1880/1963), O mandarim, localizar elementos deste romance fantástico que possam nos oferecer pistas de trabalho, em ato literário, para compreender alguns conceitos da teoria psicanalítica freudo-lacaniana. Considerando que a associação entre o desejo inconsciente e a sedução  diabólica é desde Freud uma constante, interrogamos, a partir do recurso do pacto, utilizado por Queiroz, as implicações e os desdobramentos clínico-teóricos a partir de três pontos conceituais. São eles, em particular, a  questão das movimentações narcísicas que marcam um sujeito no interior do par dialético insatisfação e busca de realização; o conceito de gozo como o que se inscreve, além do princípio de prazer; e a dimensão da culpa que se realiza via masoquismo face à não assunção do sujeito pela  responsabilidade quanto ao seu desejo e que se localiza no personagem principal do romance no campo do masoquismo moral
