    Algorithms for Quantum Branching Programs Based on Fingerprinting

    In the paper we develop a method for constructing quantum algorithms for computing Boolean functions by quantum ordered read-once branching programs (quantum OBDDs). Our method is based on fingerprinting technique and representation of Boolean functions by their characteristic polynomials. We use circuit notation for branching programs for desired algorithms presentation. For several known functions our approach provides optimal QOBDDs. Namely we consider such functions as Equality, Palindrome, and Permutation Matrix Test. We also propose a generalization of our method and apply it to the Boolean variant of the Hidden Subgroup Problem

    On Computational Power of Quantum Read-Once Branching Programs

    In this paper we review our current results concerning the computational power of quantum read-once branching programs. First of all, based on the circuit presentation of quantum branching programs and our variant of quantum fingerprinting technique, we show that any Boolean function with linear polynomial presentation can be computed by a quantum read-once branching program using a relatively small (usually logarithmic in the size of input) number of qubits. Then we show that the described class of Boolean functions is closed under the polynomial projections.Comment: In Proceedings HPC 2010, arXiv:1103.226

    Fast and robust two- and three-qubit swapping gates on multi-atomic ensembles in quantum electrodynamic cavity

    Creation of quantum computer is outstanding fundamental and practical problem. The quantum computer could be used for execution of very complicated tasks which are not solvable with the classical computers. The first prototype of solid state quantum computer was created in 2009 with superconducting qubits. However, it suffers from the decoherent processes and it is desirable to find more practical encoding of qubits with long-lived coherence. It could be single impurity or vacancy centers in solids, but their interaction with electromagnetic radiation is rather weak. So, here, ensembles of atoms were proposed for the qubit encoding by using the dipole blockade mechanism in order to turn multilevel systems in two level ones. But dipole-dipole based blockade introduces an additional decoherence that limits its practical significance. Recently, the collective blockade mechanism has been proposed for the system of three-level atoms by using the different frequency shifts for the Raman transitions between the collective atomic states characterized by a different number of the excited atoms. Here, we propose two qubit gate by using another collective blockade mechanism in the system of two level atoms based on exchange interaction via the virtual photons between the multi-atomic ensembles in the resonator. Also we demonstrate the possibility of three qubit gate (Controlled SWAP gate) using a suppression of the swap-process between two multi-atomic ensembles due to dynamical shift of the atomic levels controlled by the states of photon encoded qubit

    El desarrollo científico de la sociedad actual y el ritmo vertiginoso que se ha impuesto en los avances tecnológicos, destacándose el campo de las comunicaciones, en gran parte ha sido consecuencia del progreso de la instrumentación de medida, lo cual ha permitido visualizar de mejor manera los fenómenos a todo nivel, llevando a los ingenieros a acceder de forma clara y precisa a la comprobación teórica que ha permitido dar los saltos conceptuales reflejados en los productos ofrecidos en el campo hoy día, que para generaciones pasadas resultaban difíciles de desarrollar [1]. En este panorama de furor tecnológico, resalta la aparición de plataformas para pruebas y medidas automatizadas que, asociadas a equipos de cómputo, permiten la verificación experimental de todo tipo de variables, con interfaces gráficas propias de los sistemas operativos actuales y lenguajes de programación de alto nivel para hacer funcionar el hardware asociado, y que permiten el acercamiento al fenómeno a medir o comprobar sin la complejidad asociada a la proximidad del concepto ejecutorio del núcleo de procesamiento de la máquina computacional, como ocurriría en caso de utilizarse lenguajes de bajo nivel [2]. A nivel académico, estas plataformas de medida han permitido la caracterización de todo tipo de señales electromagnéticas presentes en sistemas comerciales de variados campos (automatización, control, comunicaciones, bioingeniería), llevando a los investigadores a hacer significativos aportes como la expansión de parámetros de estándares o el desarrollo de prototipos flexibles dada la facilidad de cambios de configuración y desempeño gracias al empleo de interfaces gráficas amigables [3]. En el diseño también se han conseguido valiosos avances por parte de la academia; se tienen informes de soluciones a problemas de la industria apoyados en estas plataformas, y que fueron desarrolladas en los laboratorios de prestigiosas universidades de todo el mundo [4].En Colombia, a nivel educativo, es poco lo que se ha podido avanzar en el campo de la implementación de soluciones de prueba y medida automatizadas debido a la escasez de equipos de este nivel, ya que su adquisición puede resultar costosa. Los laboratorios de la mayoría de las universidades mantienen su instrumentación física convencional que, aunque válida aún hoy día, limita el avance en investigación pues en el caso de las comunicaciones, para citar un ejemplo, con equipos de prueba y medida avanzada se pueden generar señales de altas frecuencias, ni siquiera detectables por muchos de los instrumentos de uso común en la academia local.The scientific development of today's society and the vertiginous pace that has been imposed on technological advances, especially the field of communications, has largely been a consequence of the progress of measurement instrumentation, which has made it possible to better visualize the phenomena at all levels, leading engineers to have a clear and precise access to the theoretical verification that has allowed the conceptual leaps reflected in the products offered in the field today, which for past generations were difficult to develop [1]. This paper addresses the need for the continued implementation of a series of tools for improving the academic training of professional students of Engineering. Based on the foregoing is generated construction of a proposal, creating a space teaching whose primary purpose is to broaden its horizons in the student and prospects, developing various strategies that enhance learning the instrumentation required within their primary process. The proposal is a ethnographic research, design quality, framed in the paradigm sociocríticoLa presente investigación pedagógica plantea las dificultades que encuentran en su formación académica y profesional, los estudiantes de la Facultad de Ingeniería Electrónica de la Corporación Universitaria de la Costa, CUC. Y el reto que la institución superior debe enfrentar día a día para ofrecer a sus estudiantes una educación de calidad acorde con las necesidades del entorno social, económico y político de la región. El presente trabajo plantea la necesidad de la aplicación continúa de una serie de herramientas para el mejoramiento de la formación académica profesional de los estudiantes de Ingeniería. En base a lo anterior se genera la construcción de una propuesta, creando un espacio didáctico cuyo propósito principal es ampliar en el estudiante su horizonte y perspectivas, desarrollando diversas estrategias que mejoren el aprendizaje de la instrumentación primaria requerida dentro de su proceso.
