Tourism persistence in Spain: National versus international visitors.
In this article, we examine the statistical properties of the time series corresponding to the number
of national and international visitors in Spain using fractional integration. This methodology allows
us to examine the degree of persistence of the series, and thus, infer some conclusions about the
nature of the shocks. According to the results reported in this work, seasonality matters in both
cases, being more important in international tourism. Moreover, we observe significant differences
in the degree of persistence between national and international tourism. Although both series
seem to be mean reverting, with shocks having a transitory nature, higher orders of integration are
observed in the case of the international arrivals.pre-print230 K
As old as history: Family-controlled business groups in transport services: the case of SEUR
This article presents empirical evidence about the contribution of family-controlled business groups as highly efficient alternatives to the large vertically integrated and professionally managed corporation in specific institutional and market environments. This hypothesis is tested with a single case study, SEUR, in the Spanish transport services sector. SEUR is one of the most prominent Spanish courier companies. It was founded during Franco’s dictatorship, expanded in democratic times, and imaginatively adapted to the financial challenges of the late globalisation at the end of the twentieth century, while maintaining the traditional values based on personal trust and family ties
100 Families that Changed the World: Family Businesses and Industrialization
This book gathers together the stories of 100 companies organized by country and; within each section; by seniority.1; The epilogue outlines some of the reflections that arise from reading these stories as suggested in this introduction. The actual novelty is; however; that what the reader will find in these pages are the very lessons on how said 100 companies managed to survive for more than a century.; We hope that many of these “lessons from history” are applicable to our readers’ businesses in the present day.; Students at business schools are considered to be a key component of their own individual training process; which is developed through discussion via the case method. Likewise; we have considered our readers to be a key component in the learning opportunities offered by these 100 stories.; While in most books written by academics the authors offer their conclusions systematically and defend them with examples; our aim is; rather; the opposite: to present the 100 company histories; brimming with wisdom on their own; and allow readers to draw their own conclusions

Is Spain Different? Innovation systems in the long-term development of the tourism sector. The IBEROSTAR case study.
Tourism is a highly competitive sector which is characterized by permanent transformation. Therefore, tourism firms depend largely on innovation to adapt themselves and compete, ensuring their survival and competitiveness. Despite research on innovation concludes that tourism firms are in most cases only moderately innovative, there are outstanding exceptions in specific fields and destinies. Spain, which is an unquestionable leader in tourism, constitutes one of them. In fact, Spanish tourism firms have shown a strong innovation capacity. They have improved and diversified their products thus meeting the requirements of a changing demand. This raises the need to properly understand how and why innovation takes place and who is involved in such a process. This paper aims to address these questions through the case study of one of the largest Spanish hospitality firms. The long history of Iberostar Group confirms that family firms and the networks they provide, along with environments that foster competition as was the case of the Spanish tourism industry, are important determinants of innovation particularly in a late-developed country
David y Goliat.

The playful as a dimension of Corporal Education. The game of desire and pleasure
ABSTRACT: This article is a bid to move new roads, re-run of the concepts and ideas that are fun and we have indicated the path that so far we have apprehended, we have internalized as an option attitudinal human development as an opening through the enjoyment and pleasure. Modernity has shown its influence through its dualism, this being incisive in understanding and subjective concept formation with us today in this present and the fun has not escaped it, unlike blends into a speech multifaceted and rich in adjectives that
denote integral and unique beings, but in the background, we can uncover through its stir, objectivity, a playful discourse operation turns out to be permeated modern discourse where cause and effect relationship becomes relevant to the extent that they continue to meet needs, absence, leading to the fun that is not seen as a process, but as states of being, allowing a glimpse of a fragmentation of it. Concepts such as the desire then from Deleuze, allow us to demonstrate in other ways, other perspectives, other ideas and
other ways that the fun has not considered and this fact motivates us to “shake” a bit in that line, where fun has only embraced the positive and well - being of the human being as dominant factor in his theory.RESUMEN: Este artículo es una apuesta por transitar nuevos caminos, por recorrer conceptos e ideas de la lúdica, que existen y que nos han indicado la ruta que hasta el momento hemos aprehendido e interiorizado como opción actitudinal, como apertura del desarrollo humano mediante el goce y el placer.
