Computational systems are gradually moving towards Cloud Computing Infrastructures, using the several advantages they have to offer and especially the economic advantages in the era of an economic crisis. In addition to this revolution, several security matters emerged and especially the confrontation of malicious insiders. This paper proposes a methodology for detecting the co-residency and network stressing attacks in the kernel layer of a Kvm-based cloud environment, using an implementation of the Smith-Waterman genetic algorithm. The proposed approach has been explored in a test bed environment, producing results that verify its effectiveness

Η ΕΦΑΡΜΟΓΗ ΤΩΝ ΠΡΟΓΥΜΝΑΣΜΑΤΩΝ ΤΗΣ ΗΘΟΠΟΙΑΣ, ΤΗΣ ΑΝΑΣΚΕΥΗΣ – ΚΑΤΑΣΚΕΥΗΣ ΚΑΙ ΤΗΣ ΧΡΕΙΑΣ ΣΤΗΝ ΠΡΩΤΟΒΑΘΜΙΑ ΕΚΠΑΙΔΕΥΣΗ

Η προκείμενη μελέτη αφορά τον κλάδο της Ρητορικής και εστιάζει κυρίως στα ρητορικά εγχειρίδια των προγυμνασμάτων ως μέσων διδασκαλίας από την αρχαιότητα έως και τη σύγχρονη εποχή. Τα προγυμνάσματα αποτελούσαν σύνολο προφορικών και γραπτών ασκήσεων τα οποία χρησιμοποιούνταν σε σχολές ρητορικής από την αρχαιότητα έως και τον 18ο αιώνα. Στην παρούσα μελέτη εξετάζονται οι κατηγορίες των προγυμνασμάτων, γίνεται αναφορά στη συμβολή των θεωρητικών σε αυτόν τον κλάδο της ρητορικής και παρατίθενται τα οφέλη των προγυμνασματικών ασκήσεων στην εκπαίδευση. Επιπλέον, δίνεται ιδιαίτερη έμφαση στα προγυμνάσματα της ηθοποιίας, της ανασκευής – κατασκευής και της χρείας και πώς αυτά θα μπορούσαν να αξιοποιηθούν τη σημερινή εποχή στην πρωτοβάθμια εκπαίδευση. Προβάλλονται σχέδια διδασκαλίας που θα μπορούσαν να ενθαρρύνουν τους εκπαιδευτικούς στη μελέτη των προγυμνασμάτων μιας και θα ήταν ενδιαφέρουσα η ένταξή τους σε ποικίλα μαθήματα του ωρολογίου προγράμματος. Τα προγυμνάσματα, μέσω της κλιμακούμενης δυσκολίας τους, θα μπορούσαν να αποτελέσουν χρήσιμο εργαλείο στα χέρια των εκπαιδευτικών, ώστε να δώσουν τα απαραίτητα εφόδια στους μαθητές τους ενθαρρύνοντάς τους τη δημιουργική σκέψη και ξεδιπλώνοντάς τους τις έμφυτες ικανότητές τους τόσο στον γραπτό όσο και στον προφορικό λόγο. Επιπλέον, θα είναι σε θέση οι μαθητές να επωμιστούν τις αρετές που διέπουν τα προγυμνάσματα, όπως την αφομοίωση της διδαγμένης γνώσης, τη λογική μετάβαση στο επόμενο στάδιο, τον σεβασμό στην αντίθετη άποψη, την ευελιξία στις γλωσσικές επιλογές και την εξοικείωση με σημαντικά πρόσωπα και διαχρονικές αξίες. Μακάρι, τα προγυμνάσματα να αποτελέσουν χρήσιμο εργαλείο, ώστε να προωθηθεί η ρητορική παιδεία στην πρωτοβάθμια εκπαίδευση και να καλλιεργηθεί η έλλογη σκέψη.The current study focuses on the field of Rhetoric and specifically on the use of rhetoric textbooks “Progymnasmata” as teaching tools from ancient times to the modern era. The preparatory exercises discussed in this study are a set of oral and written exercises that were used in schools of rhetoric from antiquity until the 18th century. This study examines the categories of preparatory exercises “Progymnasmata”, references the contributions of theorists in this branch of rhetoric and lists the benefits of these exercises in education. Additionally, the study places a special emphasis on ithopoiia, reconstruction-construction, and chreia training and how these can be utilized in today's primary education. Teaching plans are also presented that can encourage teachers to incorporate these exercises into their curriculum, as they can be interesting to include in a variety of subjects. The exercises, through their increasing difficulty, can be a useful tool for teachers to provide their students with the necessary skills by encouraging their creative thinking and developing their innate abilities in both written and spoken language. Furthermore, students will be able to learn important virtues such as the assimilation of taught knowledge, logical transition to the next stage, respect for opposing viewpoints, flexibility in language choices, and familiarity with important figures and timeless values. It is hoped that these training programs will be a useful tool to promote rhetorical literacy in primary education and to cultivate rational thinking

Data on eNOS T786 and G894T polymorphisms and peripheral blood eNOS mRNA levels in Sickle Cell Disease

In this article, we present data on endothelial Nitric Oxide Synthase (eNOS) gene T786C and G894T polymorphisms in Greek steady-state Sickle Cell Disease patients in comparison to healthy controls. Moreover, eNOS mRNA levels were determined in peripheral blood samples from 18 patients and 9 controls. This article complements our recently published article named “Prognostic value of eNOS T786C and G894T polymorphisms in Sickle Cell Disease” (I. Armenis, V. Kalotychou, R. Tzanetea, Z.
